Jobless Transmigration: I'm the only one who loves monsters.

Chapter 68: What is wrong with you!

" Lucius, you finally decided to join us, did you now..." Said the middle-aged man, Lancelot Morningstar, who was non other than his father.

" Oh come on honey, please, let's not start this so early in the morning."

" What do you mean by that." The middle-aged man replied with a frown before glancing back at Lucius. " I simply want to know why he thinks it correct for him to waste my time every morning by arriving late."

" Why blame him then, shouldn't his personal maid be the one at fault. After all, it's her responsibility to cater to our son." Lucius's mother interjected, flashing an unhappy glare at Su who shivered next to Lucius.

This was how it always happened, well as far as Lucius could remember anyway. Every single morning, his parents would fight due to one reason or the other. In most cases, he was the prime reason.

" Hana, please don't blame the innocent girl, we both know that if Lucius refuses to wake up early, not even you would try waking him up."

" Innocent girl?! Lancelot–"

" Mother... Please." Lucius finally decided to speak up, his mother paused at the sigh of her son's direct gaze. She'd never seen him direct such a look to her before.

With his mother silenced, Lucius shifted his gaze towards his father.

" Father... You're right. It's unscrupulous of me to always arrive late during breakfast. Wasting not just everyone's time but your's is something unforgivable." Lucius said, before dropping to his knees.

" Lucius?!" His mother exclaimed in shock. Lucius knew his actions were unbecoming for himself, even the other servants in the room, as well as his two siblings, were all taken aback by his actions. but he simply ignored them.

' I can't continue to live my life like this. If I want to become a different person, I need to take a step further by showing everyone that I'm willing to change.

" I plead for your forgiveness father. I promise I won't try such again. And if I do, I humbly implore you to punish me as you see fit."

The dinning hall turned silent with no one uttering a single word.

Since the very beginning, Lancelot had kept silent, only passively looking at his son. A son who'd been known for his wicked and arrogant personality, that same son had suddenly decided to ask for forgiveness?

" Is this some kind of joke to you Lucius."

" P-Pardon?" Lucius stiffened, his eye blinking when he felt his father's boiling hot gaze pressing down on him.

" Not only have you wasted enough of my time by coming late, now you want to waste even more time with this charade of your's?!"

" Lancelot!" Hana called out to her husband, her brows furrowed in displeasure.

" Enough!" Lancelot shouted, hooting up from his seat.

" I shall not have it!" Without another word, the man stormed out from the dinning hall.

In the brief moment that he walked past Lucius, he saw the cold and detestable gaze in his eyes, aimed directly at him.

The entire dinning half was plunged into an unpleasant silence.

" You little wretch! Have you seen what you've caused?!" Lady Hana shot up from her seat as well, but unlike her husband, her anger was aimed at Su instead.

" M-My Lady.. I'm terribly sorry... I promise it won't happen again." Su hurriedly bowed, right now her body was trembling in fear, her skin covered in cold sweat.

" Won't happen again? Won't happen again?!"

" Mother! That's enough!" Lucius got up from his seat, flashing an unhappy look at his mother.

" Lucius..." His mother muttered, completely taken aback.

" This has nothing to do with my maid. I don't see why you have to harass her right in front of me... Do you think I can't even take care of one servant all on my own?" Lucius's shoulders trembled, his hands clenched at his sides.

" Older brother! Is that why you're raising your voice at mother, over one simple mai– eek!" His sister Lily glared at him but her words became lodged in her throat when her brother shot her a spine chilling stare. A stare he usually showed to the servants when he was at his breaking point, the same one she could never forget, after all, Her older brother wasn't one to be impassive, even to her or her twin brother.

" Brother... Please calm down." Lavender, lily's twin, noticed how out of hand things were getting, and quickly intervened.

Lucius said nothing, yet he began taking deep breaths in front of everyone, eventually he clicked his tongue and turned around.

" Su! Where leaving..." He said as he stormed out of the room.

Su didn't dare to stay there without him and quickly followed after him leaving the other Morningstar familiar members and the few other servants in the room.

The moment he stepped out the door, Lucius frustrated expression quickly vanished and his his lips which were pressed into a thin line, curled upwards ever so slightly, into a faint smirk which quickly disappeared as soon as it appeared.

' With my performance, they're sure to get curious as to why I'm so different. The more curious they become, the better.'

' All I need to do is wait until their curiosity reaches its peak, only then will I have the perfect opportunity to go through with the next step of my plan.'

' Who knew being so scheming could actually be so fun.' Lucius felt as if this trait of himself was one he could actually live with.

While walking through the mansion, all the servants who saw him, averted his gaze without a second thought, some trembling slightly in fear as he passed them by.

Su continued to follow behind him but her gait was far from confident, as time passed, her lips continued to tremble until eventually.

" Young master, were are we going... I don't intend to question your orders but you still haven't had breakfast yet." Su finally mustered up the courage to speak.

Lucius suddenly paused, almost tripping over his own feet. He the. slowly turned around to look at her, an awkward smile on his face.

' She's right, I can't believe I completely forgot about breakfast.'

' I could have the kitchen prepare me something else to eat but...'

' That'd be a waste of food....'

' I'm supposed to be more considerate, I can't waste the kitchen staffs hard work.' Lucius groaned before letting out a sigh.

" Let's go back..." He grumbled beneath his breath before heading back towards the dinning hall.

******

The atmosphere within the dinning hall was rather strange, Lucius ate with his eyes down towards his plate while, Hana, Lavender and Lily simply watched him in silence. Su as well as the other servants, stood aside as the family ate or in this case, everyone watched Lucius eat.

Lucius's fork suddenly dropped onto the plate, clattering to a stop before his gaze rose from his plate towards his younger sister.

" Is there something on my face. Lily." He asked calmly.

Lily pursed her lips but said nothing. Instead she began to eat her meal.

Seeing this, Lucius sighed. " If my actions early had offended you lily, please allow me to apologize. Truthfully, I never had any intentions to antagonize you like that."

" What?" Lily who was eating, froze momentarily.

" I'm trying to say I'm sorry for my actions earlier and mom."

" I never really meant to raise my voice at you earlier. Can you please find it in your heart to forgive me as well."

" Lucius..., son, could there be something bordering you." His mother asked, sounding worried.

" Brother, did you injure yourself during sparing, perhaps?"

" No I didn't injure myself during sparing! What would even make you think that?! Are you trying to say my swordsmanship is horrible?!" Lucius snapped at his younger brother, startling his family.

But he clicked his tongue afterwards before taking a deep breath. " I'm sorry for raising my voice... I just..." Lucius said yet gritted his teeth at the end.

" Can I please be excused mother."

" O-Of course you ma–"

" Thank you." Lucius got up from his seat and quickly left the dinning hall with Su, once more, once again, leaving his mother and younger siblings muddled.

His mother stared at the door he'd vanished behind with a worried look for awhile before letting out a sigh and picking up her fork and table knife.

' Alright, that went better than I expected.' Lucius held his chin in contemplation as he walked down the corridor.

" Young master Lucius, where to now." Su asked, walking a few paces behind him.

" I'd like to visit the estates library."

' The Library?' Su was confused. ' But young master Lucius usually goes for sword practice right after breakfast.'

' He rarely goes to the library...'

' Why is he suddenly interested in going to the library of all places.' She thought to herself but still followed closely behind.

*****

The both of them soon arrived at their destination.

' To think that this won

drous mansion actually has an indoor library. I must've been a complete idiot for not tapping into this resource. What's the point of brawn with no brains?'
