Back then she had been looking for Su since she had been late for their lunch. She'd asked the other servants where she must've been, they had given her directions to search through the mansion but she ended up getting lost, but then she ran into someone.
" Mister... Do you know where big sister Su is." She'd asked him but instead of a reply, the man had given her the most horrifying icy glare she'd ever seen.
Emily had ran away back then, in fear. Ever since then, she'd never once stepped foot within the mansion.

" Young master, please forgive her, she's but a child, I'm sure it's nothing but a misunder–"
" It's ok." Lucius raised a hand to stop the man.
He then glanced at Emily who hid behind Mr. Freeman the moment their gazes met.
" I'm sorry if I did anything to frighten you in the past. I understand that my actions can't simply be over looked." Lucius said. Sounding every bit apologetic.
" Young master..." Both Mr. Freeman and Su had their mouths slightly agape when Adrian suddenly dropped on one knee.
" Please find it in your heart to forgive me."
Truth be told, Lucius had no recollection of Emily whatsoever but, her reaction towards him was all the proof he needed to know that he really must've done something to her to have her so spooked at the sight of him.
Lucius continued to kneel, waiting for Emily to say something.
Eventually, Emily slowly popped out her head from behind Mr. Freeman. Seeing the relieved look on his face that resembled the wondrous morning light, Emily twiddled with her fingers, her gaze on her hands.
" I guess I can forgive you since you apologized but..."
" I want some sweets too."
" Emily!" Mr. Freeman exclaimed, it was already a miracle that the young master had apologized, he didn't think it was worth risking to push him further.
" It's ok. Sir." Lucius chuckled, unlike what they expected.
" You simply want sweets, right?" Lucius smiled at the little girl who nodded slowly.
" How about I arrange daily afternoon lunch sessions for the both of us. Will that be ok."
" But... I always have lunch with big sister Su." Emily said, looking a bit reluctant.
Su's lips trembled, a sweet smile on her face. Lucius secretly stole a glance of Su's expression, his lips curling upwards a little.
" I see. Then how about I make it lunch for just the three of us."
" Really?! You'd really do that Mr?" Emily's eyes widened, her adorable features made her even more irresistible in Lucius's eye's.
" Of course. I'll even have someone prepare the finest sweets just for you." Lucius said.
" Uouff–" Lucius was taken aback when the little girl ran into his chest, wrapping her hands around his neck.
" Thank you, Mr. You're the best." Emily couldn't contain her happing.
Lucius was silent but his hand reached towards her back and began patting it gently, a light smile on his face.

" You want magical books?" Emily asked. Currently the group were all sitting within old man, freeman's house.
" Yes, I'm looking for books about magic. I'm not sure if you could tell me where I can get some? Su recommended you to me when I wanted to go get some."
" Well my mother owns a shop where she sells magical things, maybe she'll also has magical books...but she doesn't usually sell them to just about anyone." Emily muttered her voice pausing at the end.
' Oh? Is that why I haven't heard about magic from just about anywhere. Looks like meeting Mr. Miller back then was a stroke of luck, magic must be quite rare amongst humans.'
' Alas, I was able to memorize some of the spells and other contents of the jotter...but, after becoming Lucius, some of my memories have gotten jumbled up.'
' I guess it's to be expected when I feel like I've lived two past lives already.'
" But maybe I could convince her to sell to you." She smiled awkwardly. " My mom's a bit hard to convince... I hope Mr won't get angry if she says no."
" There's nothing to worry about Emily, I promise I won't go back on my word even of she refuses to sell to me."
" Ok." Emily smiled, now looking less tense.
" Well then." Lucius said, getting up from his seat, with Su following suit. " Give me a moment to gather some of my funds then the three of us can head into the city."
" Alright... I'll be waiting here then."
Lucius nodded, he and Su then left the groundskeepers abode.

Lucius had them take a carriage into the city, well in all honesty, the guards at the gate had pleaded with him to take one under his mother's orders, as well as an escort of two guards. Who both sat at the coachman's seat of the carriage.
" Enjoying the ride?" Lucius smiled when he saw the look of amazement in Emily's eyes as she stared out the carriages window, at the scenery outside.
Emily turned towards him and nodded with a cheerful child like expression.
" Well I'm glad but please bear in mind that you're the only one who knows where your mom's shop is, I'll need you to direct the coachmen, alright."
" Sure, just leave it to me." Emily giggled.
The two coachmen were puzzled by the little girl who constantly gave them directions, but non of them dared to raise a complaint since Young master Lucius hadn't said anything against it.
" Stop right here." Emily said and the carriage came to a smooth halt.
She then hurried to open the carriage door and got off.
Lucius and Su came down right after.
" Mr. This is the place." Emily said earnestly before quickly heading into the shop.
" You two stay here with the carriage. I'll be heading in alone." Lucius said but he noticed the worried looks on both their faces.
Lucius sighed before grabbing one of the guards swords and pulling it out before slashing at the air, all in one smooth motion.
" I don't need you by my side at all times." He handed the blade back to the guard before revealing the one hidden beneath his coat.
" You need not worry about my safety. Besides. My maid should be more than enough to protect me." He briefly glanced at Su.
" Understood young master." Both guards bowed momentarily before taking their positions near the carriage.
Lucius nodded with a smile before heading inside with Su.
The bell by the door chimed twice, signaling their entrance.
Lucius took a look around, the store was a bit spacious, that being that one could walk around with no troubles, as for it's contents, they looked more like antiques and other assorted items, which came as peculiar to Lucius.
Emily soon came running out of the back. She looked excited. Lucius noticed that someone followed behind her, he was just about to speak up when he saw someone else following behind Emily.
' What's she doing here....' Lucius was taken aback at the sight of the woman with raven black hair, the very woman that had once made him run through the snow in his past life, the same woman he hadn't been able to control himself properly when around.
' What's Elara doing in the capital?' Lucius's gaze was locked on the woman who's expression now looked a tad cold, but her coldness wasn't one of malice but a natural frost, similar to a glacier.
" Mommy, this is the Mr I was talking about." Emily gestured towards Lucius.
The other woman, who was non other than Silvia, shifted her focus from her daughter to Lucius.
" So you're the one who brought my daughter back here."
' How come she arrived before Leo and the others.'
' Or maybe she left a day before them?'
' Well...'
' Whatever reason she might have for coming here isn't really my concern... For all I know it might be a familial issue.' Lucius calmed down before glancing at Silvia.
The woman's bob cut drew him in. But her lack of mouse ears and tail, plus how she looked completely human, told Lucius that their relationship must be one through adopted due to certain conditions.
" Yes, please allow me to introduce myself–"
" There's no need for that. I already know who you are." Silvia said before glancing towards his side.
" Since my dear little Su is accompanying you, it must mean that your non other than the young master I've heard so much about." Silvia's lips curled up ever so slightly.
' Wait... She knows Su? In that case, dosen't that mean that Su knew about this place from the very beginning?' Lucius's eyes squinted when he sensed something ominous in Silvia's gaze.
' If Su knew about this place, why didn't she just bring me herself.' Lucius turned towards Su but the latter trembled while avoiding his gaze.
" Aunty Silvia usually comes to the estate som
etimes to check up on Emily." Su managed to blurt out.
' Oh.. so that's the reason.' Lucius felt a lot better knowing that Su hadn't tried to deceive him.
