Jobless Transmigration: I'm the only one who loves monsters.

Chapter 84: Truly dead or still here.

Lavender who felt saved by his twin sister, suddenly found himself, pushed into a boiling oil bath, never did he expect his brother to turn the conversation this way.

Lily on the other hand was secretly terrified, thinking to herself that her brother was actually trying to use this opportunity to reveal her past schemes.

Lady Hana was taken aback by the fact that her son seemed to be trying to pin this blame on his own brother and sister, indirectly saving the bastard she'd been trying her best to keep away from her husband's wealth. Since she was married out of her noble family, she was well aware that although she still had noble relations, in her husband's house, he was the one who had the final say about how things would be.

The only one who seemed less erratic than the others was non other than Lancelot, right now, dark lines seemed to have clouded his features.

' Lucius! Is this just how far you're willing to go to achieve your goals, to even push your own direct siblings into the fire, just to secure your position as first heir?!' Lancelot's train of thoughts were completely enraged.

" Hahahaha, please forgive me. I forgot I already told the both of you before hand." Lucius's next words took everyone's by surprise.

" I must admit as well that I had someone monitor brother but that I can assure you was because I was worried about him." Lucius glanced at his father and brother and said with a smile.

Unlike with Lily and Lavender, no one had any thoughts of not believing this, knowing Lucius, they believed it was a given for him to set up such a thing. They understood his displeasure towards his brother and how he'd always tried to torment him and yet, non of them believed that he ever had any intention of murdering him in any way, after all, he he really did have such thoughts in his heart, they believed that he could've done away with him long ago, even Leo himself believed that such a thing might've been possible, knowing him.

One moment it looked like he was planning on branding Lily and Lavender as murders, the next he actually took it as some kind of joke?

Lily and Lavender naturally knew that such a thing never happened but since he was throwing them a life line, they didn't hesitate to grab at it.

" Brother, enough with your jokes."

" That one went a bit far, wouldn't you say."

Both Lily and Lavender laughed lightly yet one could see the traces of perspiration on the bodies.

Of course Lucius never planned for this from the start. After dying a few times and with all he'd been through in his past lives, one could say that he was quite adapt at detecting danger after all that, sensing the unexpected change after he'd said what he'd said earlier, Lucius decided to quickly change the subject before he got himself into something he didn't want.

Unbeknownst to him, both Lily and Lavender now felt as if they owed him one. Both began having feelings that there brother was trying to hint at them that he could use this as a form of leverage against them whenever he so chose.

If he ever felt the need, he could bring up this issue and explain that he wasn't lying back then, just so to push suspicions towards the both of them, even if it wasn't through, the act of putting them under suspicion itself could very well harm their reputation at the least.

" So what was it you both were planning, I must say I partially agree with your train of thoughts, it would be too dangerous to have our dear brother go out there again. It's already too risky for simple workers when traveling long distances on average, now that it seems like Leo is being targeted, it should stand to reason that the danger level would increase."

" Yes, that's exactly what we were thinking."

" Brother sure is brilliant, to think you were able to come up with that in such a short amount of time." Leo frowned at Lily and Lavender's obvious attempts to frown Lucius.

At this point, he began having even more ominous thoughts about what the three of them where plotting.

" Which is why we we're planning on suggesting that brother be sent off to the kingdoms Witcher Academy in the meantime. I'm sure that by the time he graduates, things should've settled by then–"

" Impossible! You're basically asking me to die aren't you!" Leo shot up from his seat, pointing an accusing finger at Lily, to think that this sister of his would be so wicked and heartless to suggest such a thing.

Everyone knew very well how dangerous the academy was, sure it was able to produce powerful witchers who would rise up in fame and fortune while protecting Gruneville, but the problem was that the academy was branded dangerous because the sheer number of graduates were so low that it was horrifying.

Out of the thousands of participants that would enroll, only a staggering less than 1 percent would be able to graduate.

Some would chose to drop out mid way to save their lives, while some would outright die during their stay at the academy.

Even if said person was from noble background, no one would complain, because the Witcher Academy was under the control of each generation rulers of Gruneville.

Depending on the ruler at the time, the number of graduates might even plummet even more. There was a point in time where the tally of deaths were so high that the people of the kingdom fled from enrolling into the academy.

Perhaps one of the reason the academy could stand till now was because it had no age requirement, anyone could enroll so long as they were able to meet the necessary requirements.

" Leo, please condone yourself, I'm sure Lily was only speaking with your own interest at heart." Lady Hana said yet all she received from Leo was a begrudging stare.

" Father, I understand that I leaving the mansion to help in the family business is treacherous but I believe that they're other options than joining the academy." Leo dares not plead to anyone else but his father.

Lancelot nodded his head, causing Leo to let out a sigh of relief.

" Your brother is right Lily, the academy is far to dangerous a place to be talked about so lightly." Lancelot let out a sigh at the end, his family's constant disputes were really starting to become something else he thought to himself.

" Father... Permit me if I may." Lucius's sudden voice brought about an unwanted curiosity in everyone at the table. Nevertheless, Lancelot nodded his he'd.

" What is it you'd like to add, Lucius."

" I'd like to attend the Witchers academy." Lucius said matter of fact.

" What?!" This time, non of them tried to hide their disbelief.

" Son, this isn't the time to joke around." Hana was the first to speak up, a look of distress on her face.

" I'm not trying to be humorous this time mother, I really I'm serious. I'd like to attend the Witchers academy." Lucius said, this time looking every bit serious yet reserved in a sense.

Alas, his family didn't think his actions where any bit reserved.

" Lucius, I understand we've had our differences but trying to show that you're better than me by risking your life is foolish, don't you think so?" Leo let out a sigh, before staring straight into his brothers eyes, but when the latter rolled his eyes at him, his teeth gritted unconsciously in frustration.

' This bastard!'

" Who said I was ever competing with you?" Lucius replied with a disdainful look on his face, completely unaware that his past habits were begin I to take to the surface.

' If I can just enter that academy, then I should have all the access I need to matters related to the supernatural. Perhaps then I can truly understand this power of mine and maybe... Even get back home?' The last part of his sentence felt a bit far away to him but the thought still remained there non the less.

If he could actually learn to freely travel between both worlds, wouldn't his life be better than, instead spending all his time hunting for herbs, he'd have some means of entertainment, and instead of worrying about his mother's health, he could simply become a doctor in both worlds or take her to his past world, the possibilities were nearly endless.

Rather than a hinderance, being able to travel in-between both worlds was a blessing in a since.

' But there's still one issue... How do I get the girls and that bastard imposter to attend with me, so I can deal with that issue once and for all.'

' Wait.. perhaps this could work.' A strange light flashed in Lucius's eye's.

" For someone who was frightened by three simple goblins, to think you'd still have the nerve to say a thing."

" And what does that mean!"

" Not only are you lacking shame, your manners are questionable as well." Lucius shook his head lightly, further infuriating Leo.
