Others Awaken SSS-Rank Classes, I Summon Calamities

Chapter 40: The Strongest Level 1 Player

Finally, with a resigned sigh, he spoke up.

"Level 1."

At Arthur's words, everyone was dumbfounded.

Le–level one??

The registrar in charge of registration raised his eyes to meet Arthur in disbelief.

"What did you say?"

Arthur coughed once more before replying, "I'm level 1."

Gabriella was also stupefied, staring at Arthur as though he were joking.

"Arthur, what are you talking about?" Recalling Arthur's strength and how he had cleared the E-rank high-level dungeon, she presumed that Arthur was most likely at level 10 or even higher, just like the level of his classmates.

'Wait… I've never seen him battle before. Rather, it's just been his summons. Could it be that everything so far has been achieved by his summons?' Gabriella narrowed her eyes in deep thought as she glanced at Arthur.

Arthur knew he couldn't explain his situation to them, so he emphasized once again.

"I'm a level 1 player."

Unable to believe Arthur completely, the registrar brought out something similar to a fingerprint scanner.

"Please place your hand here."

Arthur didn't delay and placed his hand on top of the scanner.

A warm red glow scanned his hand before the display erupted, showing Arthur's level to the crowd.

"Player level: 1."

Everyone was taken aback.

Arthur forced a smile. "Just record the fights for me."

"...Okay." The registrar finally retrieved the treasure and nodded.

Since the fighters present here were always strong ones at level 10 and above, it was rare to meet a fighter of low level.

Even if there were low-level players, they wouldn't be as low as level one.

As the registrar signed up Arthur, he gave him an intense glance.

His eyes subconsciously fell on the clothes he was wearing.

'The Sentient Academy? There is actually such a low-level player in the Sentient Academy? Could he possess some kind of forbidden class?'

In this game-like world, there were all kinds of classes, including those that made one overpowered at the same level as others.

Still, how much strength could a level one player possess when compared to those at such high levels, even with a forbidden class?

With all these thoughts in mind, the registrar ultimately finished recording the information and then turned to Arthur.

"You'll have your five matches."

"Okay."

"You can head to the weapons rack to choose a weapon if you have none. And you can also download the betting app online to place a bet on yourself."

Arthur raised a brow in surprise at the words.

He was currently in need of A.P., and aside from gaining it from the system's quests, if he could gain much more by betting, that would simply be astounding.

"Thank you for the information." Arthur nodded, then turned back to Gabriella.

Gabriella's narrowed eyes stared at Arthur more intently for a few seconds before she shook her head, resigning herself to her thought.

She just needed to wait and see how things played out.

In truth, she was quietly interested in Arthur's true strength.

Was his true strength just dependent on his summons?

At the weapons rack, Arthur chose an iron sword and then quickly operated his phone to download the betting app and placed all his A.P. on himself.

Grinning while looking at the odds stacked against him, Arthur was amused.

His first and second opponents were level 5 players, his third opponent was level 6, and his fourth and fifth opponents were level 7 and 8 respectively.

After reading through it, Arthur handed his phone to Gabriella so it wouldn't get damaged while he was fighting.

The fights on stage gradually came to an end, and an announcer stepped on stage after the cheers had died down.

"The next series of matches will be a particularly interesting one. The player is at level 1, and he will be competing far above his level. If my guess isn't wrong, he possesses some sort of unique class."

"What?"

Immediately the whole arena was in an uproar as disbelief rippled through the crowd.

"What kind of class would make someone so confident to face those far above him?" someone from the crowd argued.

Another person laughed wildly. "This is going to be an easy win for his opponent. I'm placing my bet on him losing; that way I'll earn easy money."

His words caused some of the crowd to nod in agreement while others' eyes flickered with hesitation.

Some of them were doubtful. What if the class was actually that strong?

With many thoughts passing through the crowd, the announcer called Arthur onto the stage.

"Please step onto the stage, Calamity Sovereign."

Hearing the domineering name, the crowd was speechless.

Was Arthur truly strong, or was he just playing a joke on himself?

"Wait—his mask!" suddenly, someone exclaimed.

Everyone finally noticed Arthur's mask, which looked like a clown.

"Another clown wannabe?" another person clicked his tongue with a sneer.

"No wonder he is acting so arrogantly and is daring to challenge those above his level. What an idiot!"

Murmurs spread through the crowd, and those hesitating to place bets on Arthur finally changed their minds and bet on his opponent.

They disdained Arthur in their hearts.

It wasn't just Arthur—they disdained anyone trying to copy the clown.

After all, who was the Clown?

This was the only person to clear 100 matches in a row without fail, a feat no one had been able to achieve!

Arthur could faintly hear the murmurs and was confused by their discussion; nonetheless, he shrugged nonchalantly and shifted his attention to his opponent that had just been announced.

Silently, Arthur glanced at his stats from the system.

[Name: Arthur Pendragon]

[Class: Calamity Summoner]

[Level: 1]

[Strength: 39]

[Defense: 35]

[Dexterity: 36]

[Health: 100]

[Mana: 150]

[Free Attribute: 0]

[Elemental Affinity: E-rank Fire — 15/20]

Arthur's strength had drastically increased over the time he had spent training with daily quests from the system.

Normally, the stats for an ordinary man were '5', and Arthur had more than six times that—rivaling players at level 12. In essence, Arthur had already become a force to be reckoned with.

Then there was his fire affinity, which was still evolving.

Simply put… Arthur was about to send his opponent to the depths of the underworld.

"Match start!"

The instructor waved his hand and left the stage, leaving the two combatants facing each other.

Arthur glanced at his opponent, a level 5 player, and smiled wryly.

There was a bull-like mask on his opponent, obscuring his identity.

The onlookers watched with expectation, although they could already visualize the outcome in their minds.

They could imagine Arthur being completely decimated in the next second.

Gabriella's eyes sparkled with interest as she gazed at the battle.

With a thunderous roar, Arthur's opponent charged at him, the axe in his hand swinging downward with ferocious might.

Noticing the axe's movement, Arthur didn't panic. Rather, he calmly sidestepped.

In his eyes, his opponent's movements were painfully slow, like that of a child, and he could easily counter whatever was thrown at him.

"Not much of a challenge," Arthur muttered in disappointment, then swiftly struck.

His sword moved at lightning speed, and before the opponent could even realize what was happening, the axe in his hand had been flung out, and a sword was pressed firmly against his neck.

Blood silently trailed from the cut the blade had made, and the youth couldn't help breaking into a cold sweat.
