Others Awaken SSS-Rank Classes, I Summon Calamities

Chapter 48: Tricking the Orcs

After Nephis entered into his shadow to recover, Arthur continued his way down the mountain cautiously.

He had to glance around more than three times into the distance to be certain that there was no danger before he took a particular path.

In this manner he finally reached the bottom of the mountain.

Exhaling in relief, Arthur glanced around and still didn't spot any signs of danger.

With a relieved expression he jumped down from the mountain and landed firmly on the ground.

Immediately, his eyes scanned his surroundings and he spotted a cave nearby.

Arthur glanced around at the three towering mountains surrounding him and with nothing to do he headed in the direction of the cave.

Because there was no concept of day or night here, Arthur had spent more than twelve hours descending the mountain without even realizing how much time had passed.

Arthur followed along the road and sneaked into the place, his mind filled with alarm.

In fact, from afar Arthur could hear slight voices entering into his ears.

They sounded like growls of orcs and Arthur could tell that inside the cave there were definitely orcs gathered, hence the reason he was so cautious in his movements.

Walking briskly, Arthur walked into the cave and the sight was revealed to him.

The orcs were gathered around.

A few of them lay sprawled on the ground dozing off without a care in the world while some of them had a dazed expression on their face.

Then, there were also orcs who were just saying things in a strange orc language which Arthur couldn't understand.

He scanned the group and a chill crawled up his spine.

Gathered in the cave was more than thirty orcs.

It was truly an astronomical number causing Arthur to break out into a cold sweat.

He silently tiptoed out from the cave in the opposite direction.

He knew that gathered there were most of the orcs he needed to deal with to clear the dungeon.

He had to plan cautiously before dealing with the orcs as even Titan and Nephis, should they enter recklessly, would meet their demise inside the horde of orcs gathered there.

Arthur silently distanced himself from the location and after he had gone a considerable distance, he summoned Titan and called out to Nephis so they could start discussing their next course of action.

Nephis appeared and her face had grown slightly rosy.

Arthur could tell this much just by staring at her flawless slightly pink cheeks.

Titan glanced around, his golden eyes flickering with a devastating light as he scanned through the surroundings before his gaze rested on the distance not too far away.

There, he could sense a cluster of danger gathering.

In his mind he could instinctively tell even he couldn't bear all the danger there, ultimately failing to protect the master.

Titan's golden eyes flickered with a black light as a dense aura of calamity surrounded him.

Arthur noticed the look on Titan's face and smiled wryly.

"Big guy, there's no need to try to eliminate them all at the same time. We have to deal with them one after the other."

"Although there's strength in numbers, by chipping down their numbers, victory would be pretty easy to achieve."

Nephis also nodded in agreement at Arthur's words.

The devastating black light flickering in Titan's eyes began to recede at Arthur's words.

Nephis glanced at Arthur curiously, "How do we decrease their number? We need someone to attract their attention before dealing with them."

Arthur pondered briefly before stating with a sigh.

"I'll be bait—"

Before he could finish speaking, Titan grunted coldly, clearly not interested in the idea.

"Titan. We have to do this if we want to clear the dungeon," Arthur advised warmly.

Titan snorted coldly, still didn't seem pleased with the decision but wasn't saying anything.

Nephis pondered, "Using you as bait is slightly dangerous as you'll be putting yourself in danger, and there's a chance that the attention of all the orcs might be attracted to you, which is a very perilous situation."

Clearly, Nephis also didn't like the idea so far.

With narrowed eyes, she pondered and stated, "I can use myself as bait and lead them to Titan. If there's any danger I can quickly blend into the shadows and lead them off trail."

The plan sounded safe without many flaws like Arthur being used as bait, so he had no choice but to agree.

But it brought another question.

How would they attract the attention of the orcs?

"I think I might have an idea…" Nephis said with a slight grin playing at the corner of her lips underneath the veil.

Arthur looked at her curiously and Titan's golden eyes flickered with a strange brilliance.

Nephis smirked before speaking.

Time passed as Arthur and his calamities took the time to rest for a bit and recover their mana before actively engaging with the orcs.

Arthur didn't want to do this but he had no choice now and needed to clear the dungeon.

A shadow seemed to slither through the group of orcs before reaching one who was standing and facing the wall in a daze.

There was silence before a swooshing sound echoed and a small gash appeared on the arm of the orc.

The orc was instantly snapped out of its daze and turned to stare at the surroundings with a frown.

Scanning around, the orc spotted a shadow that seemed a little different from normal.

In fact this shadow was even making hand gestures.

However, with the little intelligence of the orcs it couldn't clearly understand what was happening.

As it was about to return its attention back to the wall another swishing sound echoed as another gash appeared on the arm of the orc.

The orc finally let out a low growl, staring at the shadow with a look of anger.

The growl attracted the others' attention, but seeing the orc focusing on merely a shadow they no longer paid it any attention.

Silently, the shadow drifted and was slowly dragging the orc from the crowd of orcs before it could realize what was happening.

Before long, the shadow was already far enough from the remaining orcs.

It still followed the shadow with a look of fury on its face because as time passed on, a few more gashes had appeared on its skin.

Finally, the orc's eyes lit up as it noticed the shadow had stopped beside the wall of a mountain.

It seemed the creature could no longer advance a step further.

The orc growled a bit and immediately punched forward only to freeze and halt the attack midway.

From behind, the orc felt a chill as something massive and of similar height loomed over it.

The orc turned around in astonishment only to see a massive golden object descending onto its head.

Bang.

The large golden sword immediately sliced off the head of the orc causing blood to splatter around onto the mountain wall.

Only at the moment of its death did the orc realize it had been tricked.

"Good job Nephis!" Arthur stepped out from behind the rocks and praised with a smile on his face.

A sweet smile spread across Nephis' face.

Hearing Titan's low grunt, Arthur laughed and praised Titan as well.

"This way we can easily deal with the remaining orcs. All we need is time. Hopefully they remain as dumb as this one." With a low chuckle Arthur motioned for Nephis to head over to the next orc and start up the plan.
