"I must say, I'm a bit surprised. I assumed you would go with one of the other Guilds, most male Hunters I reach out to tend to reject any offer I make," Remarked the Guildmaster of the Diva Guild, a wry smile on her face.
"Well, the offer was generous and the terms of the contract were mostly agreeable, so yeah. Plus, I've got a close friend here, that was something of a decisive factor," I replied, as I took a seat and took off my face mask.
It's the 30th of May, 2169, a few days since the Hunters Championship Clash. I'd responded to each of the four local Guilds and expressed interest in their offers, and it didn't take long for them to send drafts of the contracts I'd have to sign to join each of them.
All four contracts were pretty similar, a few minor differences here and there, but nothing significant. Well, I didn't go through them myself, I had Ai do it instead.
No way I'd be able to analyze information as well as a literal AI can, after all, so I left that task in her very capable hands.
<I don't have hands>
<And the main reason you made me do it was because you're too lazy to do it yourself>
Yeah, that was definitely a factor too.
"A friend? Ah, you must mean Ariella, you were in the same class at the Academy, right?"
"Mhm, that's right," I nodded in response.
Isla Hinger, the Guildmaster of the Diva Guild, and one of the Guild's four Aces. Well, I guess it'll be five once I join.
I cast Appraisal as soon as I entered the room, and she's got some impressive stats:
Personal Details:
Name: Isla Hinger

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 75 KG
Hunter Details:

Power Level: 552,800
Potential: 573,700
Impressive, her physical stats and Power Level are just about as high as it can get for an Ace Mage, she clearly trains hard.
Her Mana Level is really high too.
She's also the first Teleporter I've ever seen in person...what a strange Aura, I've never seen a hue like that before, it's a sort of ethereal silver color.
After I went through the contracts from each Guild and decided to go ahead with joining the Diva Guild, I responded accordingly, and agreed to a meeting set for today, scheduled at midday.
I put on a mask and sunglasses when I left my place, I've been trending on social media all week, and I'd prefer not to get mobbed out in public.
I haven't gone out at all since the tournament, just been holed up indoors.
Anyway, I arrived at the Diva Guild right on time, one of their staff members leading me to the Guildmaster's office, which brings us to the present.
"So, let's get down to business, shall we? As the contract states, you'll be required to complete a quota of one Quest per week on average, any objections to that?" She asked me with a smile.
She had medium-length brown hair that went a bit past her shoulders and framed her face, parted from her forehead with a couple of black hair clips.
She had light brown eyes and a fair complexion, and she was in pretty good shape, with a strong build.
"No, that's fine. How does the process of taking on Quests work here, by the way?" I inquired curiously.
"We have a system for that, all members are given access to it through their I-Watches. All Dungeons we get the rights to raid, along with any other Quests, are displayed in the system, along with the date it's set to take place on.
If you're interested in any available Quests, you simply apply for it at least two days before the set date. Whoever's assigned to be the Captain of the raid will then select their party from the Guild members who applied for the Quest," She explained in response.
"I see. So, hypothetically speaking, what if I apply for a bunch of Quests but none of the assigned Captains select me? Would that count as failing to meet my quota?"
"Well, yes, but that rarely ever happens. Dungeons have been appearing with steadily increasing regularity lately, so if anything, we're short-staffed, same with the other Guilds too.
We're just about managing for the moment, but it probably won't be long before we gradually start to get overwhelmed.
That aside, new members are given priority for the Quests they apply for, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting on Quests, if that's what you're worried about."
"I see, that's good to know."
"Oh, and your quota period starts after a week. For the first week, we'll introduce you to our members and have you train alongside some of them, think of it as a sort of orientation period to get you familiarized with the Guild and members.
Normally, we give a lot of guidance and training for new members, but you already have a decent amount of experience as a Freelance Hunter, so the only training we'll have you do is team exercises with our other members, to see how well you work with others," She informed me.
"Well, I do have experience, but that's only with Mid Level Dungeons, never been in a High Level one before," I replied with a wry smile.
"I'm aware, but you've been in a number of Dungeons that have deviated from the standard patterns, haven't you?"
"Yeah, that's true. I'm guessing you spoke to the Chairwoman if you know that?" I surmised in response.
"Yes, I wanted more information on you before making the offer. The fact that you killed a Wyvern all by yourself was especially impressive, and during your final Practical Training exam at the Academy, you killed several Lycanthropes with ease, and played a key role in killing a Greater Demon. With all that in mind, I'd say you're more than capable of handling a High Level Dungeon."
