Sinner System

Chapter 158: Hangout (Part 1)

"Wow, this is a really nice place," Remarked Aria, as she walked in and looked around.

Since the hype around me has far from died out yet, I figured we were better off hanging out at my place instead of going out somewhere and have a bunch of people staring at us.

She's pretty much just as famous as I am, and super popular too, we'd definitely cause a stir if we were seen together in public.

"Thanks. Make yourself at home," I smiled, before adding as I shut and locked the front door, "Come on, I'll show you around. You escorted me at the Guild, so let me repay the favor. Though, this'll be a much shorter tour."

"Okay, lead the way," She grinned, before following after me.

"So, this is the kitchen over here. I've hardly ever used it though, I only ever come in here to wash my plates and throw away trash. I've cooked a couple of times, but I mostly just order food," I remarked sheepishly.

Well, either that or I just make copies of the food I've got stored and preserved in Treasury.

"Yeah, it does look like it's barely been used, the stove and counter are way too pristine," She nodded, before trailing behind me as I headed to my room.

"This is my bedroom. It's-...," I began.

"Hm? What's that sweet perfumy smell?" She asked me, as she sniffed curiously.

Huh? What's she-...?

Wait, Ferna and Elicia came over last night, is she picking up on their perfumes or something? I don't smell anything at all.

"Either you're imagining it or you have a better sense of smell than I do," I replied with a shrug.

I mean, she doesn't need to know the details of my sex life.

"You don't smell it? Oh, maybe it's wafting in from outside. You shouldn't keep your balcony doors open, you know, someone might sneak in," She remarked, as she walked over and shut the sliding glass doors.

"I always leave them open, so it slipped my mind. Plus, if someone does try to break in, they'll regret it," I smiled wryly.

"What if you're not home when it happens?" She pointed out with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, fair enough. Come on, let me show you the next room," I replied, before leading her out of the bedroom and to my rec room.

"Woah, cool. I'm guessing you use this room to kick back and relax in?" She surmised as we walked in.

"Mhm, pretty much, it's my rec room. If I have some downtime, I'll just flop onto one of these beanbags, put something on to watch, and have some snacks with booze or joints."

"Joints? Oh, you mean weed, right? I've tried it a couple of times, pretty recently actually," She responded, as she glanced at my mini-fridge and shelf full of snacks.

"Yeah? How was your experience with it?" I asked her.

"I liked it, I felt nice and relaxed. Well, the second time, anyway. The first time, it was nice at first, but I guess I had too much and my head ended up getting all spinny," She recalled with a sheepish smile.

"I don't dislike that feeling, I like to relax, close my eyes, put on some music and just let my mind go off like a roller-coaster," I grinned, as she sat on one of the beanbags, her eyes widening slightly as she sunk into it more than she expected.

"I've never sat on a beanbag before, wow...this is comfy. Never been on a roller-coaster either. I have been to amusement parks a few times, when I was younger, but I was always too afraid to get on the roller-coasters. And now that I have superhuman powers, it'd be probably be pretty boring," She mused with a wistful smile.

"Yeah, doubt any thrill rides would come close to the thrill of fighting Monsters in life or death battles," I nodded in agreement.

I haven't been to an amusement park in this era either, think my parents took me a couple of times in my past life, but I was really young, I barely remember those experiences.

Anyway, I then proceeded to lead her to the last part of the tour of my place, my training room.

"Cool, it's pretty spacious. And looking at the floor and walls, I can tell you're in here pretty often," She remarked as we walked in.

"Yeah, I try to get at least a couple of hours in every day, unless I've got a raid or something else to do. I don't have a passive combat or weapon affinity Skill like Combatants do, after all, so I need to work extra hard to make sure my physical and combat prowess are sharp," I explained, as she peered into my box of wooden short-swords.

"Mhm, just by watching you fight, it's easy to tell how hard you must train. I'd suggest a quick sparring bout, but you've already fought today, so I'll refrain.

Oh, by the way, about that Appraisal Skill you told me about...you said it quantifies a person's physical abilities into stats, right? What are my stats? And how do they compare to yours?" She asked me curiously.

"Uh, let's see...alright, so, there's six different stats, HP, MP, Strength, Agility, Vitality and Perception. Your HP is four hundred and eighty six, and mine's four thirty five.

Your MP, which is the amount of Mana you have, is four seventy, and I've got six hundred. With Strength, you've got four ninety one, while I have four forty.

Next, Agility, yours is six hundred and two, and mine is five ninety. As for Vitality, it's four eighty-one for you and four thirty for me.

And finally, Perception, yours is five eighty-six and mine's five eighty. I can also see Power Level and Potential. Yours are 519,300 and 945,000, respectively, and mine's 512,500 for both."

"Wow, so we're currently pretty much identical, physically speaking, huh? All of my stats, except for MP, are slightly higher than yours...it's kinda like a video game, especially the HP and MP stats.

Weird, exactly what kind of Magic do you have? The more I find out, the more it seems like the systems in those retro fantasy anime from before the Monsters and Dungeons appea-...hm? Wait...am I right?!" She exclaimed excitedly, as I tensed slightly.

"I, uh..."

Damn it, I barely reacted, how the hell did she pick up on that?!

"You have to tell me more, I-...! Well, no, you don't HAVE to tell me anything, but...I really, really wanna know," She grinned eagerly, her eyes practically sparkling.

"Well, I-...okay, how about we head to the rec room, relax, watch something or play some games, have some snacks and weed, and talk there?" I suggested, in an effort to buy some time to gather my thoughts.

"Sure, that sounds like fun!"
