"So, it'll be you, Ariella and Kelsey as the front line, Keira and a K-Ranked Ice Mage will be the mid line, and the back line will consist of a Healer, Detector and Enchanter, all K-Ranked.
Kelsey will be the Captain of the party, and the raid will commence the day after tomorrow. Do you have any questions or concerns?" Isla asked me with a smile.
"Yeah, a couple. First, why eight people? High Level raids only need seven, right? Also, I'm not so sure about being in a Dungeon with Keira, especially positioned behind me. You sure she won't blast me in the back?" I responded warily.
Today's the 8th of June, 2169, a little over a week had passed since I joined the Diva Guild. I'd been introduced to several other members of the Guild and participated in some training exercises with them over the course of the last week or so.
The majority of them were pretty friendly and welcoming, some of them were even flirty. There were some who didn't engage with me all that much, a few of them just seemed shy while the rest of them were more apprehensive.
Well, at least they didn't attack me like Keira did.
Speaking of whom, she was going to be fined half her earnings from her next five raids as punishment for attacking me. I haven't run into her since that first day, and I was hoping I wouldn't see much of her going forward.
Yesterday, my first week since signing the contract ended, meaning I was eligible to start taking on Quests now. I signed up for a High Level Dungeon raid last night, which Aria signed up for too.
Isla called me up to her office to discuss the details of the raid, which was scheduled to take place on the 10th, two days from now.
"Yes, it's true that High Level Dungeons require a minimum party of seven members, but we usually go with a party of eight, so that it's safer.
Also, you need a minimum of two Aces to take on a High Level Dungeon, but we've gone with four since this is your first High Level raid, just to be safe.
There currently aren't a whole lot of High Level Dungeons in Sanctuary Theta's jurisdiction, so we have a bit of extra manpower to spare right now.
As for your second concern, I wouldn't worry about Keira doing something like that. I seriously doubt she'd go that far, and even if she did want to, Kelsey being there will keep her in check.
You're the third person to bring up this concern, her attacking you really made quite the impression," Isla sighed in exasperation.
"Wait, who else brought it up?"
"Ariella was the first, she vehemently protested to having Keira on the raid since she was convinced that she'd attack you, and she's still far from convinced that won't happen.
And the second was the Enchanter I mentioned, one of the few other male Hunters in our Guild. Keira has been a bit nasty to him and the other men in the Guild in the past, so he isn't particularly thrilled about working with her either," She explained sheepishly.
"Huh. Well, that explains why she was so aggressive against me. Basically, she hates men, and had extra reason to hate me in particular," I surmised in bemusement.
"Yes, that's not inaccurate. To be fair, she did have some terrible experiences at the hands of some awful men when she was younger, so I do understand and sympathize with her.
But that said, it isn't fair to lash out on people who haven't done anything wrong, just because they happen to be male. I'm going to need to convince Ariella and the Enchanter that she won't cause any problems during the raid, she-..."
"Hey, like...could you maybe not talk about me like I'm not here? It makes me feel kinda awkward," Suddenly came a lethargic voice from the corner of the room, startling both of us.
I turned my gaze that way, to see a guy sprawled across the couch. He looked like he was in his mid-twenties, with longish black hair that covered his left eye and was spiked up at the back.
He had black eyes, a fair complexion, and was on the skinny side, about average height with a lanky build.
He had several piercings on his ears, a septum ring, and a ring pierced through his left eyebrow. He wore black lipstick, black eyeliner and had painted his fingernails black too.
How long has he been there? I didn't even notice him, despite how high my Perception has grown.
"What the...? Damien, when did you get here?" Responded Isla, as she composed herself.
"What're you talking about, GM? I've been here the whole time," He sighed, before muttering, "It's like I'm a shadow, always around but never noticed, I sigh but never cry...because sighs are tears of the soul."
"Uh...is he high?" I inquired in bemusement.
"No, he's just emo, though I really couldn't tell you if he's putting on an act or is legitimately like this unironically," Isla sighed in exasperation, before adding, "This is Damien Asher. He's the Enchanter I told you about. He's always like this, gloomy and dramatic."
"Hey, that's not true...if I was a girl a few hundred years ago, I'd be Dame Ian. Bit of humor for you there."
Wow. Never seen an emo person in real life before, he's kinda amusing. Let's have a look, Appraisal:

I...I haven't seen physical stats that low since the first few months at the Academy.
Given the sheer number of Spells he's mastered, he must have focused entirely on his Magic Potential while completely neglecting his physical Potential.
"Uh, no offense, but how are you K-Ranked with a Power Level barely above J-Rank?" I inquired in bewilderment.
