Chapter 190: Revelations (Part 1)

"What the hell is going on here?!" Snapped Jorin, his Aura intensifying.

"Where did that thing come from?" Frowned Leed, raising his hands up and starting to charge a Spell.

"God damn it...<Command: Don't Move>," I chanted with a sigh, the two of them freezing in place as I added, "Just relax, she isn't going to attack anyone."

"What is this? Please explain," Frowned Zian, the only one among the three of them who'd kept his cool after the initial startled reaction.

"Yeah, I was about to. I-...," I began.

"I-I can't move...!" Growled Jorin, straining against the effect of Command.

"You can break free if your will is strong enough. But if not, don't worry, it'll wear off on its own in thirty seconds. I'm sorry, but it seemed like you were about to attack me, so I had no choice," I sighed in exasperation.

"You little shit...!"

"This is exactly why we warned you not to panic, so don't blame him," Isla defended me.

"True, but we could've avoided all this if you'd explained what was about to happen properly," Responded Zian dryly.

"Oh, I think that's fine, it made for a more dramatic reveal. That was great, I got chills," Smiled Charlotte with a nod of approval.

"Come on, Chairwoman..."

"Ah, there we go. I suppose I did lose my cool, but in my defense, I was expecting you to summon something resembling a Greater Demon," Remarked Leed, calming down as he broke free of the effect of Command and sat back down.

"H-Hey, how'd you do that?" Uttered Jorin, still struggling to no avail.

We waited till the effect of Command wore off, after which he plopped onto his chair with a huff, eyeing Luxuria and I warily.

"Alright, let's try to avoid any more interruptions, shall we? So, this is-...hold on. Hey, Luxuria, mind giving me some space?" I sighed as I glanced at her, her arms still draped over me.

Aria was kinda giving me a narrowed side glance, her gaze boring into the side of my head.

"<Very well, Master>," She nodded, getting off me and stepping back.

"So, as I was saying...this is Luxuria. I discovered a new ability during the last raid...if I meet a number of pretty specific conditions, I can subjugate the soul of a Monster I've killed and put them under my command.

She won't attack anyone, unless I tell her to, so there's nothing to worry about," I explained, as I glanced around at the table.

Charlotte had a deeply intrigued look on her face, Jorin looked suspicious, and the other two appeared stunned.

Yeah, all understandable reactions.

"Do you have any other Monsters under your command?" Charlotte inquired curiously.

"No, it's just her, for now."

"I think I get it now...since she's a Greater Demon, she must know plenty about the Dungeons and Monsters, at least a lot more than we do," Surmised Zian, a slight gleam in his eyes.

"Yup, exactly. She's the one who told us about why Monsters have to stay in the floors they're on, unless or until a Stampede occurs," I informed them.

"<As my Master has instructed, I shall answer any questions you humans have for me. Be sure to show your gratitude to Master, humans>," Stated Luxuria with a slight huff.

"Tch, I'm not about to let a Monster tell me what to do. We can't trust a damned word she says, not to mention him," Responded Jorin, narrowing his eyes at us.

"Well, then, why don't you go ahead and leave? No one's forcing you to stay here. If all you're going to do is complain, then you might as well not be here," I remarked icily.

"Watch it, brat. Don't go thinking you're hot shit just because you're getting a bit of attention. I'm more than happy to put you in your place."

"Oh, I'd like to see you try," I replied with a venomous glare.

"That's enough! Calm down, Jorin, what kind of Guildmaster, not to mention grown adult, picks a fight with a teenager?" Interjected Charlotte indignantly, before adding, "Of course, you're not entirely wrong, this Demon may very well lie to us, that's certainly a possibility.

But the opposite is also a possibility...and if so, we'll be getting invaluable information, information we desperately need."

"Let's get started already, shall we? Anyone got a question to kick things off?" I prompted them, as I looked around.

"Yes, I'd like to ask about the Dungeons. Tell us everything you know," Remarked Charlotte, as she glanced at Luxuria.

"<Very well. The ruler of the world I come from creates the Dungeons, he intends to invade and conquer this world, and the Dungeons are crucial to that.

He already conquered the world I come from, there are hardly any humans left in that world, most of them were killed over a century ago.

The few that remain are mere slaves. Although, I haven't seen any humans in a few decades in that world, so perhaps they've already all been killed off>," She explained in response.

"Who exactly is this ruler of yours? I'm assuming he's a Monster, what kind is he?" I asked her.

"<He is known as the Demon Lord and Monster King. He is the only Demon to ever evolve past Archdemon, which was believed to be the final stage in our evolution until then.

He is easily the most powerful being in that world, even the Archdemons, Dragons and King Ants pale in comparison to him. The Dungeons are some kind of Demonic Art of his.

I do not know exactly how it works, but as I understand it, there is a boundary between the two worlds, and the Dungeons weaken that boundary.

Those of us who are assigned to occupy the Dungeons are tasked with killing as many humans as possible...apparently, the more human deaths we cause, the weaker the boundary between worlds becomes.

And the weaker the boundary becomes, the more Dungeons he can create, until eventually, a rift will open between the worlds. When that happens, he will launch a full-scale invasion of this world>."
