"Yes, I know this is a drastic change, but given the rising number of casualties over these last several months, something had to change. We couldn't simply maintain the status quo," Reasoned Charlotte apologetically.
"If I'm being honest, I'm not particularly upset by this. I mean, my Guild is the least affected by this, not a whole lot is changing for us," Responded Zian with a wry smile.
"Yes, I don't mind too much either. Being a Guildmaster is pretty stressful, I think it'll be quite freeing to no longer bear that responsibility," Added Leed sheepishly.
"Yeah, well, I don't like it. But I won't object to it, that'd probably be pointless anyway," Grumbled Jorin, as he slumped back in his seat.
"Hm, I have to say though, I'm not sure about the third Guild. As strong as Kaivel and Ariella may be, they're still pretty inexperienced in the grand scheme of things, it hasn't even been a full year since they graduated from the Academy. Power aside, having only two heavy hitters in one Guild seems risky," Pointed out Zian.
"Appreciate the concern, but that won't be a problem. Technically speaking, we'll have three X-Aces and two Aces, if you count my summons," I replied with a thumbs up.
Since there's no opposing this, might as well lean into it, I suppose.
"Hm? Does that mean you got a third one?" Inquired Leed curiously.
Huh? Oh, right, I guess they wouldn't know about Acedia yet.
Besides the members of the party assigned to that raid, and Charlotte, I didn't tell anyone else. It's not as though I was trying to keep it a secret or anything, I just didn't bother announcing it to the world.
"I don't like that ability...it was one thing using it on a Greater Demon, but I don't agree with how you used it on Trent. He had his fair share of issues, but still," Muttered Jorin, as he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Considering that he literally tried to kill me over something he started in the first place, I don't particularly regret it," I shrugged dryly.
Okay, that might've been a bit cold, but I stand by what I said. And besides, he became a lot more bearable after I used Subjugate on him.
"Tch..."
"Anyway, I'll send out the details later, the Union will handle all the logistics of these changes to the Guilds. I'll let you Guildmasters announce the news to the members of your Guilds, the Union will make an official announcement soon.
Kai, let Ariella know as well...in hindsight, I should've asked her to attend this meeting too. Oh, one more thing.
Given the current lull in the appearance of the Dungeons, we'll be getting some visitors here in Sanctuary Theta, on the 1st of November, the day after tomorrow.
Specifically, the other five X-Aces will be coming, it seems they're curious about the two newest X-Aces, and want to meet them," Charlotte informed me.
Huh, interesting. I'm definitely curious about the other X-Aces, I didn't really interact with the two who fought Zeifas with me after the battle, I was pretty exhausted, and they left a couple of hours after the fight ended.
"Cool, keep me posted. I'll be heading back, then," I nodded, as I stood up and stretched my arms out.
"Yeah, if there's nothing else to discuss, we might as well wrap this up."
"Sounds good to me, I feel like I need to take some time to process all this."
"A lot's going to change before much longer, we certainly have a lot to think about."
...
...
"Woah, we're going to have our own Guild? That's pretty cool...I mean, it'll be bittersweet leaving the Diva Guild, but I'm pretty sure this means that one of us is going to be the youngest Guildmaster in history.
Speaking of, which of us should take the role?" Aria asked me, as she rolled over my body, flopping onto the part of the bed to my right, before rolling over me again, landing on the left side of the bed.
Not sure what she's doing, but I don't mind it, she's pleasantly warm and soft.
I'd just finished relaying everything that was discussed in the meeting at the Union, and she actually seemed pretty excited about it, both about the Guild thing and the other X-Aces coming here in a couple of days.
"You wanna do it? The Chairwoman said we won't need to do any administrative stuff, she'll assign someone else to handle that stuff...so, we'll probably still be able to operate as usual, without any real added responsibility or burden.
I don't particularly care about it, so if you're interested, you can be the Guildmaster," I remarked, before wrapping my arms around her as she rolled over me again.
"Hm...I'm fine either way, honestly. So, I think you should take it. A good chunk of our Guild's firepower will come from you, after all, if you factor in your Apostles of Sin, so it just makes sense for you to lead," She pointed out after mulling over, before adding, "Actually, now that I think about it, I don't really want to be a Guildmaster...even if there's no real responsibility in this case, it still feels like it'd be a lot of pressure. So, yeah, you take on the role."
I let go of her as she squirmed against my grasp, before she continued rolling back and forth across me.
"In that case...you should pick the name," I suggested with a smile.
"Ooh, that sounds like fun! Okay, let me think...what's a good name? Something that sounds cool...oh, I know, I got it! Yeah, let's go with the Sinners Guild!"
"Uh, I don't know, it feels too centered around me."
"Well, yeah, you'll be the Guildmaster, and three of our top five strongest will be your summons, the Apostles of SIN. Plus, you know...it's a cool name," She grinned in response.
I'm still kinda on the fence about that name, but she seems to have her heart set on it, so...
"Alright, fine. Let's go with that," I relented with a wry smile, before adding in bemusement as she rolled over me again, "By the way, uh...what exactly are you doing?"
"Dunno, but it's fun," She giggled, before squealing as I grabbed her sides and began tickling her.
"How about now? Still having fun?" I smirked teasingly.
"I-I...hahahaha!" She laughed uncontrollably, unable to muster any strength.
I stopped as she started to get out of breath, not wanting to push it too far, before she rolled on top of me with a huff, smothering my face with her chest.
"Mmph."
"Hm...this is supposed to be a punishment, but it might be more of a reward, huh?" She mused thoughtfully, as she pulled on my cheeks.
