Here's a conversation between some of the characters in the first volume, Damn the Gods. Don't worry, there are no spoilers! Most importantly, this will help you understand these characters better.

They sat around a conference table built for ten. The characters present: Aeliana, Mika, Frey, Boss, Noah, Mill, Silas, Light (the person the clone was named after), Roni, and Kahn.
Hence, Frey arrived last. He immediately kicked Aeliana out of her seat, not for the warmth or comfort, but for what sat to his left: the mightiest fortresses he'd ever seen. Mika's boobs.
"Hehe… I'm glad I came."
Frey drooled for a moment, then scooted his seat closer to Mika.
Mika glanced at him, confused at first, but understanding dawned within seconds.
"Do you wanna?"
She gestured toward her chest.
Frey nodded energetically.
Mika's lips curved into a sinister smile.
She grabbed Frey's head, shoved it between her boobs, and started petting the old fart's bald head.
Pain shot through Frey's head, as if his flesh was being peeled away. But this was heaven. The pain meant nothing.
As it turned out, Mika really was peeling his skin off with her fingers, humming pleasantly as she worked.
Kahn slammed his fists into the table.
"Can you two take this seriously? I don't have all day!"
Everyone turned to him except Mika and Frey. Nearby, Mill and Silas were engrossed in their own conversation, oblivious to everyone else.
"Okay, okay… calm down."
Noah rose to his seat.
"I'm not sure what we should discuss, but I'd love to talk about my good friend, Halo."
Kahn leaned into his seat.
"Tsk! Why on earth would I talk about the bastard who killed me?!"
Noah turned to him with a confused expression. "Huh? He killed me too!"
"Me too, but in an honorable way." Light spoke with a smile. "I could talk about him forever if I wanted. He even named his clone after me. How generous of him."
Aeliana ceased the room's attention.
"Sure, he's noble. But think, if we'd all stopped killing, wouldn't we still be alive? Halo wouldn't have had to carry the weight of ending us. The look in his eyes before he struck… ready to shoulder my foolishness. So very noble."
Roni cleared his throat.
"Were you all killed by Halo?"
Most of them nodded positively.
Mill frowned.
"No, I wasn't. I'm still alive."
"Me too," Frey murmured from his safe haven. Only the gods know how he managed to hear them speak.
Roni turned to Boss.
"What about you? Still alive or dead?"
"…"
Kahn sneered.
"You can't speak?"
Boss responded with silence again.
Noah laughed.
"Calm down. Maybe his Flaw has him speechless."
Roni shrugged.
"I was killed by Liam. Even then, he was gentle and kind. If only there were more like him in this world."
Mika laughed.
"So you got a gentle death? Meanwhile, my sweetheart sliced me down in an instant. His will stuck with me for nearly three weeks. Aww, my sweet Halo… I still can't forget that, not even in the grave."
Everyone shot her disgusted looks as they watched her peel Frey's skin away, heal him, then repeat the process. Over and over. Her psychopathic laughter made it even worse.
Mill sighed.
"I heard Halo was betrayed. You wouldn't know, of course, you're dead. It was his own friend who betrayed him. Only the heavens know what really happened between him and Kysa."
Kahn laughed.
"He deserved every bit of it. The way he ended my life… it was so brutal they couldn't even recognize my corpse. I hope Kysa made him pay for everything he did."
Silas's words cut in immediately.
"You're the only one holding a grudge, you know. He killed me as well, but it wasn't senseless. If anything… I'm thankful. Halo's a good boy."
Mika's twisted laughter began once again.
"Indeed he's a good boy. Who wouldn't want someone like him? And oh dear, his will. That alone could sweep anyone off their feet."
The energy in the room died once more.
"I don't want him to die, not really. But if it happened, I'd be glad. Because then he'd finally return to us, and our friendship would continue in the afterlife."
Aeliana said with a warm smile.
"But I keep thinking… everything would've been better if we were still human. If only this world had turned out like the dream I tried to create."
Kahn sighed and rose to his feet.
"Tsk! If this is just going to be more praise for him, I'm out! You all keep treating him like an angel."
With his hands tucked in his pocket, he exited the room.
Noah sighed heavily.
"Is he always like that?"
Silas gestured affirmatively.
"He's impatient, full of pride, and a complete mess. He can't even wait for someone to finish using the restroom before pushing in."
Noah exhaled once again.
"I believe it would be best to bring this conference to a close. We're not contributing anything of value."
He cleared his throat.
"It makes me happy to see that most of you respect Halo. I would've been upset if I'd learned that everyone hated him. I know some still do, but what truly matters is that there are those who value him."
Aeliana enthusiastically asked:
"Can I say something?"
Noah gave her the floor.
"Yeah, go ahead."
Aeliana rose to her feet.
"To Mill, Frey, and Boss: I'd be honored if you took my ideas and turned them into reality. Humanity needs to unite and stand against the gods. It won't be easy, but if we have each other's backs, there's nothing we can't do, without shedding each other's blood."
Mill gave her a lazy look.
"What do you take this world for? Your parents' house? Come on, that will never happen. Not ever."
Aeliana's expression darkened as she took her seat.
"Alright, that's enough. We corpses need our rest, you know."
The hall responded positively.
The next moment, everything went dark.
