The success of the snake in becoming a monster was not suprising to Weiss. She had done a very thorough research about it so the chance of it being successful was more than 80 percent.

So Weiss was very sure that the snake would be able to become a monster without any problem. She was so sure that she even had thought of a name for the snake beforehand.

So while caressing the smooth scales of the snake, Weiss spoke up.

"Your new name will be Apep, based on a powerful legendary serpent who is called the serpent of Chaos."

Hearing the name, Apep showed her appreciation by wrapping herself around Weiss. It would have been a deadly embraced for anyone else but for Weiss this was not a big deal.

After the naming, next it was time to check how strong Apep actually was. So she had three battles back to back with Elise, Karl and Weiss.

All of these three battles were light sparring so no one went all out. But still this battle was enough to show what Apep was capable of doing.

In direct combat, Apep was weaker than both Karl and Elise. His main boosted attributes were Endurance and Dexterity. So Karl was able to dominate him with his strength and Elise with her absolutely broken agility. As for Weiss, she was obviously the strongest among them.

But using her special ability of changing her size and also the powerful poison that she inherently had, Apep was very well suited for becoming an assassin.

Still, even her assassination speciality would not be enough to defeat Elise and Karl.

Elise was just too fast even with her reaction speed. So taking her by surprised was almost impossible.

As for Karl, one of his boosted attributes was perception, which was a very good counter for almost any kind of assassins. So he was also in an advantageous position against Apep.

But that did not mean Apep was weak. With his specialised abilities, Apep could defeat almost 70 percent of the knights who were at her realm. And with her strong poison, she had a chance to defeat even high level knights.

So Apep was, without a doubt, a very valuable addition to her roster. As for her loyalty, Weiss was obviously going to keep an close eyes on her. She was a snake after all.

But still as she had not shown any problematic signs so far, for that reason Weiss was going to trust her at least a little.

The very next day after Apep had joined the ranks of the knights as a monster, Weiss, the two other knights and Apep went out for some hunting.

Weiss was planning to leave with Karl the next day. And Elise would have the support of Apep in defending the territory.

Obviously leaving Elise alone with Apep was a little bit dangerous. But Weiss was going to give Elise something with which she would be able to control Apep even in a troublesome situation.

Weiss did want to make another monster but unfortunately none of the other beasts were capable of doings what Apep did.

They could only barely understand the secret arts but properly practicing it was still a bit impossible for them. So Weiss needed to make the secret arts more simplistic and instictual.

In the hunt, Weiss took the role of a sniper and killed the beasts around the village one after another while staying a long distance away from them.

As for Elise, she moved like a shadow and took the life of many beasts one after another with her sword. Her swordsmanship was extremely beautiful to look at.

She had also managed to learn the Fleet Footed Steps from Weiss which had made her even stronger than what she was at her peak.

Karl's fighting style on the other hand was very direct. He went to fight the beasts in face to face combat and defeated them with brute force. And with his perception, he did not care about any beasts sneak attacking him.

On the other hand, Apep was all about sneak attacking. She used her small form to silently approach a beast and kill it with her poison.

But if the beast was able to found her presence, then she would immediately turn big and would kill the beast in her large serpent form.

Just only one knight was previously enough to keep this region safe. So now with four knights here, the beasts around the village were wiped out in no time which made the Souran territory more secured.

And this also provided Weiss with more things to sell during this outings of hers. Even though she was not lacking money for the time being, having more of it was always better.

So now almost all her preparations were done and now it was time for Weiss and Karl to hit the road again.

In an open ground, two knights with swords were clashing against one another. One of the knight was old but had a very fit figure. The other knight was young but his figure was also very well built.

But the older knight was dominating this battle from the start to finish. His movements were more domineering and his strength was also greater than the younger knight.

So only after a few dozens of exchanges, the sword of the younger knight flew away and he fell to the ground on his butt.

After this the older knight started to instruct the others who were present in this field. As he was doing so, a person dressed like a butler approached him and said -

Hearing this news, the old knight, who was actually Count Falgur became very happy.

So in a very good mood, Count Falgur remember something and asked his butler Rex Lapis -
