Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

Chapter 82: Ch 82: How to Travel to the Magus World ?

"Miss Weiss, can you tell me how long ago have your ancestor had left the magus world ?"

Hearing this question Weiss thought about it a little and answered.

"Even though he had not given any exact timing, I think it was at least a thousand or so years ago."

Hearing this Mathius nodded his head and started speaking again -

"In that case, your probably are not aware of the major changes that had happened in the last few hundreds of years. So allow me to inform you about that."

Saying this much, he took a large gulp of his drink to moisten his throat. Then he continued speaking -

"In the old era, travelling from one world to another was very troublesome and time consuming. That was why it was very rare for magi, specially apprentice magi to visit other worlds.

This world of ours is little special for various reasons. Even though it had little to no mana in the atmosphere, it still had a relatively good connection with the magus world. And the reason for that is its location.

This world of ours is located in the border area between the Realm of the Magi, Archana and the Realm of the immortals, Celeste. For this reason, many magi were already around this world for various reasons and that was why this world was in a special position.

If it was located in any other place, then the magi would not have cared about it that much.

Even if a world had people with talent to become a magus, most of them, almost 90 percent would end their journey in the realm of an apprentice magus.

So most of the time, no one bother to take them away to give them a proper training if their world was remote."

Saying this much, Mathius stopped. Then he took another large sip of his drink and gave Weiss a cunning and greedy smile. Weiss did not waste any time and immediately put one holy coin on the table.

Mathius happily took it away. He was satisfied by the amount that Weiss had paid for the information. So he decided to not hide anything from her and tell her everything he knew. He was doing this to match her sincerity.

With this in mind, he started talking again.

"But whatever I said was true only hundreds of years ago. Now a days, even the most remote worlds in the Archana realm had at least one magus visiting it once every decade or so.

As for the reason behind this, I am not very sure but I think that the advancement in the field of Magic had something to do with it.

As for our world, this timing is even shorter. A magical ship from the magus world visits our world every 5 years."

Hearing this Weiss immediately became excited. This was something that was way out of her imagination and speculations.

The way Jonus Souran had spoken about the matters regarding connection with the magus world, Weiss was very sure that it was extremely rare for a magi to come here.

But she had not anticipated the magic technique would improve so much that something as marvelous as visiting a different world would become something ordinary.

This was an excellent news for her. Now it looked like her dream of going to the magus world was not impossible anymore.

Seeing Weiss's excitement, Mathius smiled. This emotion was something that was very understandable. Even he himself had felt something similar when he had first came to know about it.

So he gave Weiss some time to calm down. Then he continued speaking.

"But do not be too excited. The last magus ship had left our world only about 1 and half years ago. So for the next ship to come, you will need to wait for about 3 and a half years or so."

Hearing this, Weiss calmly nodded her head. Waiting for only about this much time was nothing to her. She was ready to search for a way to the magus world for decades if not centuries. So learning that she did not need to wait for even 5 years was music to her ears.

But still, there was one very important question that she needed answers to. And next she asked this exact question to Mathius.

"Mister Mathius, how can I get to ride the magus ship ?"

Hearing this Mathius smiled. This was the most obvious follow up questions the people asked after learning about the existence of the magus ship and his answer was ready.

"For people who had the aptitude to become a magus, the ride is free. If your aptitude is good enough, you can even be recruited to an organisation or institute immediately, which is a very big deal.

But if anyone who does not have a talent as a magus wants to board the ship, they needed to spent one low grade magic stone for a ticket."

This system was actually way more generous than what Weiss had expected. She had thought that she would need to spend all her properties and even then she might not be able to board the ship. But the actual cost turned out to be completely free. But that was exactly what made Weiss worried.

Free things were most expensive the majority of the times. So Weiss was very uncomfortable about the fact that the journey was free for anyone who had aptitude to become a magus, no matter how good or bad.

So she asked Mathius about this matter next. And again Mathius smiled after hearing it.

Actually he had thought about the exact same thing when he had first heard about it. He had found this to be very suspicious.

So he had researched this matter a little and knew the reason why these trips were so generous. But before answering he looked at Weiss with the same greedy smile from before.

Weiss did not bat an eye and immediately gave him another holy coin. Mathius took it with a satisfactory grin on his face and continued speaking again -

"Actually the ships are powered by a magus themselves. And it is actually a very minor thing for them to do. And the magus earns merits from this endeavor which is valuable for him. That is why they do not care about a little bit of magic stones and is so generous about bringing new blood to the magus world."
