Upon reaching the dungeon, everyone was surprised to find Cecilia waiting for them instead of Custer. He was the one who'd told them that he'd gone ahead, but instead, they were met with his competent–yet still, a sex slave.
"Oh, master? A customer ran into him on the way here. He decided to take her to the shop, and that's why I'm in his place." Responding to their doubts, Aura tried her best to hold her smirk. "She sounded desperate, and master had to give her special medicine~."
Airing the innuendo, she raised a few subtle eyebrows, but their suspicion didn't last long. For the moment, she turned around and gestured for them to follow her; all doubts were gone, and the party was back in their focused state. A wrong step could cost them their lives, perhaps not thanks to the ring, but none of them wanted to find out if the ring worked or not.
As the party made their way in through the dungeon's entrance, their bodies tensed and their hearts pumped adrenaline. And while the girls only experienced a heightened state of alertness for Rudy, the elated feeling turned out to be rather painful. The cold metal against the blood coursing through his body, including his groin, had him walking with uneven steps like a drunk.
Roxanne, being the one walking beside him, noticed the strange behavior but didn't say anything. Instead, keeping on her toes, she started walking a few steps ahead of him.
'What's wrong with him today?' The thought of the belt did come to her, but she and the other girls were okay, so why was he acting this way? Grimacing at the thought, she moved beside Aura and the others.
"So, what are we doing today?"
"Nothing much, just surveying the first floor and learning what we can about this place." Nodding to Aura's response, Roxanne turned her attention to the front again. "But why don't you guys tell me how it's been? Wearing the belt that is, hmm?"
"I was hoping that you wouldn't ask about that," Charlotte scoffed.
"Oh come on~" Glancing back at Rudy, who was lagging behind, Aura chuckled to herself. "It's just us girls here. You can tell me, and maybe I'll let you borrow my master for a few minutes to help with those levels."
Reminded of last night and Okio's moans again, the girls grew flustered. Staring into nothing, they refrained from looking at each other to avoid acknowledging what they'd just heard.
"Anyway, who's the lucky guy that's gonna help you?" Rubbing elbows with Roxanne, Aura urged her to speak up. "Come on, tell me~ If it's someone you wanna hire, I can probably get master to pay for your first visit."
"Wha-no way…" Keeping her voice low, Roxanne glared at the devil. "I'm not gonna hire a guy to do that to me."
"Then? You need to find someone anyway, no?"
"Yes, but–"
"But what?"
Swallowing her saliva, Roxanne tried to think, but there was truly no escaping it. Either she hires someone or lets a man of her choosing make her orgasm. No matter what she chooses, a man has to be involved.
"So? What will it be?" Aura asked, pushing the matter further.
And while the girls were busy discussing their next move, someone crawled overhead–keeping an eye on them at all times–a limb for each one of them and enough poison to knock them out in an instant. Waiting in silence, the creature kept to the ceiling with its cloak of invisibility working its wonder perfectly.
The first target in its sight was none other than Rudy, and with the exception of Aura, everyone was about to be its meal. At least that's what the beast thought would be his reward, but in its stead, as it lunged at the hero, in a blink, everyone but the mistress was gone. Shot through the fabric of space, knocked out at once, and spat out elsewhere.
For Rudy, the spot was his bed inside the inn, but the girls were lugged onto each other and dumped inside the Devil Away. Hitting each other as they fell, they woke up at once, unlike the hero. Their bodies had grown weak in an instant, and although they'd escaped death, the headache they were feeling felt like a hammer was striking their head.
"Aghhh! What happened?" Audrey mumbled, struggling to get up.
"I-I feel dizzy…" Covering her mouth, Charlotte held back the urge to vomit.
Weakened by the crude teleportation, Roxanne struggled as well, but upon getting on her feet, she tried to heal the group–only to fail miserably and fall back on her knees again. Huffing and puffing, the healer shook her head blankly. Not a thought could be conjured nor a spell mustered–it was almost as if she'd died and come back to life through some twisted form of necromancy.
Alas, the pumping of her heart would deter her from exploring that possibility, and thus, the thought of the ring finally crossed her mind.
"The ring, it teleported us. But," lifting her head, she looked at the other two. "I don't remember seeing a monster. Did you guys…"
Shaking their heads, the demi-human girls relayed their cluelessness.
"It really saved our ass, huh?" Sitting down beside Roxanne, Charlotte leaned against her body for support. "That little thing."
"Where's Rudy?" Audrey asked, her eyes already scanning their surroundings.
Tilting their heads, the girls looked around as well. But the young hero was nowhere to be found. Trying to keep her calm, Roxanne tried to remember everything that she'd been told about the ring. Rudy's retelling of its skills was far from perfect, but there was one thing that she remembered pretty well.
"It teleported us to different places, right?"
"Then why are we here together?" Charlotte inquired.
"Let's just hope that he's at the inn or somewhere safe," Roxanne tried to console, but even her own heart was pounding with anxiety.
That is, until they heard another voice–one with whom they were familiar but not in this way. Raising eyebrows and getting up on their feet, the girls looked around to find the source of the noise, and that's when they heard Freya speaking out loud.
"Keep this a secret from my son, okay?"
The sound of her voice, followed by a spank, drew the girl's attention towards the downstairs bedroom.
"Is that?"
"Sister?"
"Mom?"
Needless to say, their teleportation and the weariness were now the last thing on their minds.
