In the dead of night, Glyea returned to her lover's den before the devil or the vampire came. She had a letter and a few words to say, and they were important–so much so that her desire to be held before marching towards the capital was overshadowed by her worries. Racking her coat on a stand, she walked further inside and found Okio working on the desk. Her temples were sweaty, and that rosy glow on her cheeks drew the knight's interest as she heard a strange buzzing from behind her.
"What's that sound?"
"W-what?!" Glancing up with a jerk of her neck, Okio almost snapped a tendon. "Aghh! Ahhh~! MHNMM~!"
The first noise that escaped her lips was a shriek, the other a moan. As the pain dulled and the buzzing increased, she sank her hands between her thighs and did her best to keep her lips closed.
"Ahhh~ F-fuck…" Flustered and red, she gave Glyea a dreamy glance. "D-did you need something?"
Taken aback by the girl's strange behavior, Glyea twisted her head and stared at her sideways. Not sure what to say, she hesitantly shrugged and explained why she was there. Nodding in response, Okio got up and started making her way to the back of the shop to get Zephyr. As she made her way through the passage, however, Glyea noticed something flat stretching her skirt outward.
With a buzz, it was shaking and in sync with its rhythm, so were Okio's legs.
'What is that?' She asked herself, blushing quite a bit as she'd heard of many strange devices used for self-pleasure or sex being sold by Custer in that very place. 'I… I don't even want to think about the type of stuff that is behind those curtained shelves.'
All around, there were countless objects wrapped in paper or hidden behind curtains. None were allowed to touch them directly, but when handed over, the items could be the cure for a dying sex life or a curse within itself. Glyea herself was no stranger to the more mundane sexual contraptions. The academy had plenty of spoiled men and women who engaged in acts of extreme hedonism. From the consumption of hash to the mindless orgies. Not all were invited, of course, but having been approached once, she remembered exactly why she didn't like the sages or the people of the academy.
'Older filth trying to brainwash young women to sleep with them. Thank god I had some sense and left before anything major began.' With a gulp and a shake of her head, she drove those thoughts out of her head. And as she brought herself back to the present, her eyes opened to the sight of Zephyr walking up to the front.
Okio was still gone, but that was probably for the best for the time being.
"I wanted to show you something," pressing the letter on the desk, she slid it across. "A letter from the academy. The sages want me to report to them in person about the undead army, and I'm also supposed to bring you, your slave, and the hero's entire troupe with me."
Squinting his eyes, Zephyr took the letter and gave it a quick yet thorough read. In an instant, he was reminded of the spy from the sages whose mind Aura had broken and turned into one of the many zombies. The man had little information in his head, and since he had remnants of a spell that cleared memories, it was clear that all the spies had their memories removed every time they were sent on a new mission to prevent information from leaking to the enemy.
'They suspect us of the weapons that we sold, or it could be a suspicion of us dealing with a devil.' None of the possibilities sounded too great, but avoiding this meeting was only going to rouse more suspicion. Moving the letter back towards Glyea, Zephyr took a deep breath and glanced right ahead at her.
"So when are we heading out?"
Blinking a few times, the knight hesitantly picked up the latter and placed it back inside her bra.
"Just like that? I was expecting–"
"The sages won't stop causing trouble for the shop if I don't go; they don't give up–that's what you said, right?"
"Yeah…" Huffing through the lips, she smiled. "I guess I was expecting more of a fight since I had one with Freya a few hours back over the same subject."
Shrugging her shoulders, Glyea picked herself a chair and decided to sit down and talk to Zephyr further. It had been a few days since she'd leveled up so much that her body was feeling nearly fifty times lighter. Her confidence and clarity of mind were boosted as well, but more importantly, she felt strong enough to lift the very shop that she was sitting in and throw it at a monster.
Walking around the counter and leaning back on it once he was standing in front of her, Zephyr gestured for her to speak her mind as he already knew what was going on inside her head.
"How did you do it?" Bobbing her head left and right, she blankly looked ahead. "The level up, the weapons, the fact that you knew what to bring and everything–how did you know that we were going to win, and what kind of magic did you even use to boost me up so much?"
"Mind if I answer that?" The front door opened out of nowhere, and the two jerked their heads towards it. "I wouldn't mind a rematch if that's what you're after."
Walking in through the door while Aura locked it behind them, Valentine took off her scarf and revealed her ghostly pale face. Her eyes, red as ruby stared at the knight, and her body froze as if she had in fact seen a ghost.
"No way…" Stumbling out of her chair, Glyea nearly fell but was caught by a wall right behind her. Reaching for a weapon, she tried to hold it towards the vampire, but right before things could escalate, Zephyr stepped up between the two.
"Valentine, that's enough," holding his hand stretched towards Valentine, Zephyr looked in Glyea's eyes and tried to calm her. "She's not going to attack us. Just move your hand away from your weapon, and we can talk."
"BUT!" Shifting her gaze to her lover, Glyea's lips parted, but no words came forward.
"Trust me, alright?" Zephyr assured, and even though she was as hesitant as she was, Glyea nodded her head and complied.
