The Magical Beast Girl Won't Leave Me Alone!

Chapter 123: Memories That I Will Cherish One Day

Liohime Kitagami had now known about the details of his parents' death, and he hobbled over before sitting down as his legs began to lose strength.

He gnashed his teeth in annoyance.

What the fuck…

"Many died from that mission, including Miles and Deborah Hansen," the Recordkeeper stated bluntly. "As a result, all further missions to the Paradisus Legions were discontinued, and the Magical Beast Cornerstone Corporation decided to change thor registration of raiders to be for fierce and rigorous in order to prepare for shit similar to that. Kanshido was taken in by the MBCC, but Kinen was not due to the instant change of the Magical Beasts in the area and the fog that permeated the Dungeon District which was the closest route to the Heart."

Liohime fell into silence, taking in all of this information with a hurtful expression.

My head hurts…

"Like I said," the older man continued, "I am able to know things that you are most likely not aware of. That includes the story of your past blocked by your partial amnesia."

"....You're still going on about that, huh? Liohime asked with a displeased face, but the Recordkeeper chuckled in response.

"What, you still don't believe me? Do you want to know about your true past, Mitagi Hansen?"

"-hk, you can call me Liohime. Also, it's not that I don't believe you at all, it's just that…"

His voice trailed off, but his thoughts continued:

It's hard to believe that I would purposefully try to forget aspects of my life. Plus, maybe they were forgotten for a good reason.

As if reading his thoughts, an immediate reply came.

"If you want, I'll skip over the section of your past that you tried to forget about. After all, your entire life up to when you were six has been personally blotted out in your mind, but only a section of that involves what you had trauma from."

What could possibly be that bad about that time before I was six? Liohime thought, but decided not to press for an answer.

"I'm in a hurry, but I guess that you can let me know about the peaceful moments of my early life. I am a bit interested, actually."

"Alright then. This won't take up my policy of the last question being answered about the Paradisus Legion's third layer, so you still have one slot left after this."

With that, the Recordkeeper simply flipped all the way to the first few pages of the book and began.

"Mitagi Hansen was born into the Hansen household. He was dearly loved by both of his parents, as they were newlyweds and wanted to try for a baby immediately."

Liohime did not speak. He simply listened as his senses began to dull, forgetting everything else around him while he focused on the words that came out of the man's mouth.

He began to relive the forgotten memories of his childhood.

Mitagi was cherished deeply. The two year-old was regarded as one of the best things that ever happened to the couple, and as they held him tightly in their arms, they made silly faces, played peekaboo, and showered him with kisses daily.

Mitagi was someone who was deeply interested in reading and playing with others. Unlike his older self which was going to be known as Liohime Kitagami, Mitagi Hansen had become a social butterfly as the year progressed, a child who had no problem spending time with other children in the sand pit and bouncy castles.

"Mama! Dad! I wanna play!" the little boy cried out to them as he motioned towards the swings, and Deborah, his mom, had decided to take him there as his father, Miles, watched on from a distance with a proud expression.

The duo neared the swing just as another mother and her daughter were just about to leave, and Deborah overheard her muttering, "I wonder at what time Hitaju will be back from work today…"

"Papa!"

"Y-Yes, Papa will be home soon. Now, let's go, Jol."

As they left, Mitagi now had the swings all to himself in the playground of Polar Town's outskirts.

"Alright, I'll give you a little push, okay, dear?"

"Weeee!!!"

Despite her troubling thoughts about the upcoming mission to the Paradisus Legion, Deborah figured that it would be nice for them to have one last enjoyable moment with their son before they would leave for a little while.

"D-Dear, you will stay by your Uncle ****** just for a bit tomorrow, okay?"

"Unkie!! Eh….why?"

"Just until….uh, Mama and Dad return with special gifts for you! Y-Yeah, that's right! We will go and bring back loooots of candy from the Candy Mountain!"

"CANDYY!!!"

With the gullible child being told this, Deborah sighed, hoping to see their son soon when they return.

In the meantime, Mitagi would stay with his uncle, which actually was not his uncle at all, but one of her and Miles' closest friends from high school, their only option as the only people closest to them were their parents who were nowhere near the area and had both completely rejected their marriage, causing them to elope here in the first place.

I'm still really unsure about this, she thought, but he's one of the nicest people ever who's been helping us no matter what. We will only be in the Paradisus Legion for a few days, anyway.

With that in mind, she had reached her decision, and when they returned to where Miles had been standing, the two parents hugged him gently, kissing him affectionately as they gave their words that would hopefully be remembered by their son when they returned to him.

"We love so, sooooo much, Mitagi."

"I promise that after this, we will finally have enough money to live peacefully together, as a true family despite everything that Mama and Dad had been through, dear."

And the next day, Mitagi had been dropped off by-
