The third of October arrived quickly, and as Liohime exited from his bedroom in the morning, he quickly caught sight of Shihon, who eagerly eyed the romantic scene on the large screen in front of her in the living room.

The movie channel was on, and Shihon's favorite series was on air- The Moonlight Shines on Us Alone.

Currently being shown were the two main love interests, bickering about the issues between them, and Shihon, who did not keep her eyes off for one second, was…tearing up?

["Maria, my love, why won't you trust me all this time!?"

["I do, Mark, but I just find it hard to release my sorrows and pains onto your soul."]

["No, darling, you must talk to me! We are now bonded together with our love for each other."]

["Mark…"]

"Y-Yes Mark!!! Let your girlfriend know that you'll always be there for her!!"

Yeah, she was a bit too invested in this, and as the two partners neared each others' lips, she leaned forward and clasped her hands together, letting the tears flow.

["I love you, darling."]

["I love you too-"]

And the scene had been cut off just as their lips were about to touch, before switching to the news channel.

Shihon instantly glitched as convulsions of sorrow echoed and pulsated throughout her body.

Then, she turned to the person who was now standing next to her with the remote in his hand.

"Hey. I was watching that. Switch it back."

"Nuh uh. It's time for the morning news, Shihon. Now scoot over."

"H-How heartless you are, Master! I can't believe this!"

--Liohime had changed the channel, and Shihon could feel her existence shattering from inside as she began to wail and cause a tantrum.

"Master, you dummy!! That was the new season premiere!!! I hate you, I hate you!!"

"Ugh, quiet down, already, will you? It's only for a few minutes."

He sat beside her and hastily ended her outcry by pulling her body towards his as he embraced her with his right arm.

Shihon fell silent, and then quickly shifted into her lovey-dovey mode, resting her head on his shoulder and…purring?

For a wolf-like Magical Beast with horns, she surely did not stay true to her beast form in any other way.

["Now, moving on to the update of the disappearance of Derrick Kio, the secretary to the Head Representative of the MBCC branch here in Polar Town."]

Both Liohime and Shihon's hearts skipped a beat, and they remained focused on the news reporter who stood up and spoke clearly with a stark expression.

["The Police Department of Polar Town states that sources have confirmed that he got off of a taxi by himself close to Arlington Street, where the Fair resides, but lack of surveillance footage on that avenue and lack of witnesses point to no further clues on where he had gone from there. It is speculated though, that he had most likely been picked up by someone with a car, as no surveillance footage from nearby streets have picked up his figure on the night of his disappearance. Moving on, the disappearance of a woman who-"]

Liohime finally relaxed, breathing out a sigh of relief.

I'm grateful that Polar Town is a city that hardly takes crime and improved security seriously, he thought. It's the main reason why the Shinigami Soldiers have been pretty much operating freely, that's for sure.

Already having heard enough, he handed over the remote to the young woman beside him and got up, while Shihon's face lit up.

"Jackpot, baby! Now, back to the…..h-huh?"

She had not noticed that Liohime had taken off his shirt, revealing the abdominal muscles and the handsome build that was hidden beneath it.

"HUEEEHHH!?"

"I'm doing extra pushups today," replied Liohime, with eyes that shone with determination as he stretched his arms. Come and give me some extra weight if you can, Shihon, I wanna see if I can do thirty this time."

"O-Oh….wait, again? Isn't this almost three days in a row? I don't think that's…"

"Come on, come on."

"Alright."

Quickly wiping her mouth and stopping her drool from leaking out, she lay down on his back and locked her legs around his waist after he got into position to begin.

"I'm pretty sure I said to sit…"

"Same thing, Master. Let's make this quick. We're losing precious time here."

As Liohime went down and came back up, mentally counting, Shihon kept her own body warmth on his bare back while using her index finger to play with his smooth skin.

While the Magical Beast Girl was pondering on how she had gotten so lucky to make intimate body contact for continuous days, Liohime's mental state was quite different.

Tomorrow will be a rest day, maybe the day after as well…but I have to continue working hard, even harder than my usual days of light exercise.

No matter what, he had to prepare himself for what was to come, despite having the fortune of a powerful Magical Beast by his side.

In order to achieve a peaceful life by completing the biggest mission of his life and receiving the large monetary reward which would allow him to move out and away from the Shinigami Soldiers and start anew with Shihon…

…He would push himself to the limit, as each day approached.

After the meeting with the Shinigami Soldiers group, Liohime had caught up to Matsuo Yamamoto, the chief of them all, just as he had departed from the rest of the members, and explained that he was finally deciding to talk to him personally about the matter of him wanting to leave after the Paradisus Legion mission.

"I understand that it's a bit selfish of me, but-"

"Lio."

"Y-Yes?"

The older man stopped walking, and Liohime stiffened up, halting alongside him.

They exchanged glances, and Matsuo put a gentle hand on his shoulder before he replied.

"Let's talk more about this after the Paradisus Legion mission, okay? If we actually are successful with this mission, I'll think about it, but I'd also like to hear more about why you'd want to retire from the organization at this stage in further detail. Deal?"

"...Deal."
