Liohime Kitagami and Shihon, his Magical Beast Girl, were not about to give up just yet.

"We're just getting started, too! It's time to show what we can really do!"

The former shouted out those words, but Yariko, his opponent, merely laughed that declaration off while covering his face with his crystal littered-white gloves.

" 'It's time to show what we can really do'? Who do you think you are, the main character of a fantasy web novel?"

You'd be surprised, man.

With his right hand sliding down and off of his face, exposing his maniacal smile, Yariko called out:

"Another Dark Orb, KC!"

Obeying his command, Killcreation, his Magical Beast, was about to hurl another dark powered ball of energy, but at the same time-

"Dodge it and let loose, Shihon! Like last time, in the storage room!!"

Liohime raised his voice, and Shihon instantly remembering when she had been summoned against his coworkers, kicked off the ground with a powerful leap and easily sidestepped the incoming attack, before vines shot out without limit from her entire body.

Unable to dodge in time while witnessing a new level of power, Yariko was about to mention to make a counter, but before he could do so, multiple vines as sharp as blades stabbed through the ground from below Killcreation, and slashed the edges of its body as it barely took a step away.

They don't know that once Shihon touches the ground with her claws, vines in soft or hardened forms can emerge from anywhere near her! Liohime thought. Now, onto the next stage, quickly!

Not giving Yariko or his Magical Beast any time to think about a split-second decision, he yelled out: "Close range pounce!!!"

And Shihon wasted no time, closing the gap between Magical Beasts in milliseconds.

"Tch, K-"

Yariko couldn't finish his sentence, but Killcreation met the attack.

In that moment, the two Magical Beasts slammed into each other in midair with a powerful physical force, and a stormy gust of wind mixed with an incredible shockwave blew, as both of their Masters were pushed back and shielded their eyes.

The spectators screamed out in excitement and cheers, and passers-by who noticed the increased noise and the insane scene were drawn towards the battle.

Both Masters couldn't see what was going on i n front of them, but they both knew that a battle of wills was currently ongoing, and they both shouted out at the top of their lungs to encourage their Magical Beasts to win the standoff.

"SHIHON!!!!!!!"

"KILLCREATION!!!!"

--"GO!!!!!!"

Vines from Shihon's chest shot out and stabbed through Killcreation's lover body, and the latter breathed a dark beam of energy at Shohon's face at point-blank range, blasting it straight at her and sending her body hurling back while Killcreation stumbled, forcefully pulling away from the piecing needle-like flora in pain.

Silence loomed, and everyone turned their focus to the participants after the gust of wind settled.

There was Shihon, laying down weakly with a largely exposed skull that was half-blown off, but still regenerating as if nothing happened, and all of the onlookers went into chaos.

"No way!!! That beast is regenerating after that much damage!?!?"

"It should be dead!!! Holy fuck!!"

"That Liohime guy might just win based on endurance! How is this even possible!?"

It didn't make sense to any of them.

All Magical Beasts could never heal themselves from that much damage.

Hell, barely any Magical Beasts were able to regenerate wounds from their own bodies. So…

Just what was this beast, and who was this guy who was its Master?

Ophiel winced, and took only a step forward as his eyes wavered.

"Did you guys fuck yet?"

"Who asks that question right off the bat!? You guys are embarrassing me right now…"

"No, we didn't. Mast-uh, Liohime is a coward."

"Why did you answer that, Shihon!?"

That name that Liohime continued to scream out…that young woman that he had met in the bar with him…

No, that can't be right, he thought. That's impossible.

"So you're Shihon, huh? I'm Ophiel, and this less-pretty girl next to me is Bica."

Still, there was an uncanny resemblance…

He shook his head violently to clear the doubts in his mind, but they wouldn't go away.

There was no way that what he was thinking was true.

…But what if….it was?

Just….who are you really, Lio..?

Then a laugh interrupted his thoughts and most of the spectators followed the direction of the voice.

It was Yariko, who was now clearly enjoying himself.

"Well, would you look at that! KC is finally meeting its match! A nature-based Magical Beast that is almost immortal!? How lucky you are, Liohime! I'm truly impressed. Still…"

His smile faded as quickly as it appeared, and he narrowed his eyes, glaring at Liohime who flinched.

"...It won't be enough to beat us. I'll make sure that your dear Magical Beast gets a true taste of Killcreation's darkness that surrounds your nightmares."

Liohime grimaced.

He's starting to sound like that Billy Milly kid, he thought while sighing. Why do I always have to face edgelords?

He then chuckled, which was easily noticed by Yariko.

"The hell's so funny?"

"You'll see in a minute. I think it's about time that we end this."

"How convenient. I was just thinking the same thing."

As if in sync, the two make figures turned to their Magical Beasts and called out to them.

"KC, get the fuck up. You're not able to heal your wounds, and our opponent is a fuckass healer, so the next attack has to finish it. We're not fucking done here.

"Shihon, are you going to keep letting our opponent's Master laugh in our faces? You can regenerate, for fuck sake. We have the advantage, and we're not about to lose that, you here? So-"

–"Get up and fight."

Those words were mentioned at the same time to them each, and they instantly heeded their words with refound confidence as the two beasts glared at each other once more.

And immediately, both Yariko and Liohime announced their trump cards, signalling the climax of the fight.

"[BARNARD'S LOOP]!!!!"

[SHIHON UNLEASHED]!!!!"
