The Hallory Circuit group of Shinigami Soldiers had emerged from below, and Liohime Kitagami was nw backed up as Yariko declared with a loud, agitated voice:

Now, who the fuck was responsible for Jack's death? Let's ask each of you, one by one."

Liohime furrowed his brows, expecting Yariko to conform to their plan that was thought up several minutes ago, but he also did not blame him for wanting revenge the bloody way. After all, he was trying his best not to attack on behalf of Shihon's injuries.

With all of the guards present immobilized, Yariko was able to easily walk up to each and every one, looking straight into their eyes as he slowly advanced back and forth.

Each one of his victims either averted their eyes, or blankly stared back, as most of them had no clue what he was talking about.

And then, Yariko noticed something.

At the corner of his eyes, he could notice the troubled expression that Maya, one of the main watchtower guards from above, currently had, and without delay, she strutted over to her and flashed a blade to her neck in an instant.

Maya couldn't breathe. No, rather, she didn't want to.

Was it even okay to breathe at a time like this?

Death was quickly approaching, and her alarm bells were going off inside of her head.

Completely restrained, a sickening fear overwhelmed her as there was absolutely nothing that she could do to escape from this seemingly psychotic individual, so with her only response being eyes that began to excrete tears, she gulped and continued to hold her breath, as she fearfully exchanged glances with Yariko.

Then, the man spoke.

"Who was the one who shot from the top of the tower and killed my companion, girl? Answer me truthfully."

"U-Uh….I….w-well…"

"Well?"

Despite her deep fear being ever so clearly shown on her face, she had surprisingly remained quiet, which ticked the young man off even more as his glare intensified.

"You know, I really hate people like you who are scared shitless but still wanna act as if they're brave as fuck. So here's what I'm gonna do."

Liohime Kitagami bit into his lower lip gently, bracing himself for what he was about to say.

"Starting with you, I'll kill each and every person here if you guys don't give me an answer.

"Y-You wouldn't-"

"Wanna test me?"

The blade was held right against her neck, and Maya flinched, before Yriko began a countdown.

"Five…"

The woman swallowed hard.

"Four…three…two…"

She deeply valued her life, but at the same time, she didn't want to-"

"One-"

"It's me."

Maya paused, as if baffled by the familiar voice that had interjected Yariko's words.

Then, she twisted her head to stare at the man who was still bleeding profusely from his chest and stomach.

Hibono, who remained severely injured, had covered for her, and her eyes wavered while the interrogator smiled and walked over to his body.

Without hesitation, Yariko's leg had raised, and then his shoe had begun pressing against neck with harsh pressure, causing Hibono to grunt in pain.

"So, it was you, huh?"

"Yeah, it was."

Replying instantly, Hibono stared right back at him, and Yariko's narrowed eyes pierced into his soul as he continued:

"You got a lot of confidence. Or should I call it foolishness? Anyway, it doesn't matter."

Still keeping his foot pressed against his neck, he leaned forward slightly.

"Jack and I were looking forward to spending time together, and you just had to ruin it by ending his life without a care in the world, huh? Some guy you are."

"Well, maybe you two shouldn't have been so fucking stupid to come to the Paradisus Legion in the first place."

"....What the fuck did you just say?"

"I said what I said," Hibono responded without fear. "You two, no, all of you are fucking insane. Why would you try to enter a place that only gets scarier and more dangerous as you descend? In a sense, I guess I just did you a favor considering the shit that happens in the second and third layer-HKKKK!!!"

The power placed on his neck only increased more with that statement, and Hibono felt as if his neck would be crushed within seconds, but he did not stop.

"I was….hk, just…doing my…goddamn job! We're not supposed…to allow any outsiders…in…under any…circumstances, you…fool! You all…have no idea what…you're getting into. All of you…will have a gruesome…death…."

I'm most likely going to die anyway. Therefore, if I have to die, then I'll die while giving harsh advice, he thought.

Yariko, full of fury, gnashed his teeth, while all of his other companions, including Liohime, averted their eyes as they expected the inevitable.

".....It's not fucking worth it."

Wait, huh?

Liohime raised his eyebrows as he faced Yariko who released his foot from Hibono's neck, and his eyes widened as he could see tears starting to form.

"I know that what we are doing is dangerous," he continued, but Jack wanted a life of money and happiness with the countless vacations that we would go on together. Thus, I can never turn back now. You might have killed my friend because of your fuckass job, but that now gives me even more reason to do what I have to do here. I won't let his death be in vain, and you will be alive to seethe over it when Noriko's Magical Beast finally resumes time for you."

With that, he turned to Noriko, one of his close apprentices, and gave the nod of approval, to which she also nodded and summoned her oversized chameleon-like Magical Beast that opened its mouth, causing the floor below the guards to liquidate as they all began to slowly descend into nothingness.

Yariko kept his eyes on Hibono, who was clearly surprised that he had been spared.

"You're…keeping me alive?"

"I'll figure out what to do with you all when our secret mission is over. Until then, you'll be resting in a static realm of space and time. Whenever you are released, it will be as if only a second has passed. Be grateful."

".....I'm sorry for doing what I did."

Yariko wiped his tears away, with mixed feelings of annoyance, hatred, regret and sorrow before replying.

"I know."
