In the first layer of that space, Hadrian dismissed the misty information as he summoned the box.
In the last few days, he'd been checking on it, seeing if there was any change to its state.
As layers of fog wrapped around the box in front of him, Hadrian's gaze went to his vessels.
Apart from the Alia vessel and the furried creatures' vessels, all the others were in that phantom state.
There has to be a reason they're still here other than temporarily borrowing their attributes.
As Hadrian thought this, his gaze drifted to Baruch's core.
In this first layer, that's all it was, a core connected with a mist string to the second layer.
This had given inspiration to something he wished to attempt.
One thing that made Baruch special as a vessel, is that He didn't affect Hadrian's sense of self as much as his other "true" vessels.
If he could replicate Baruch's state with his other vessels, he could push through the limitations of his tier.
Of course, everything had its good and bad. For example Baruch's loyalty, for now, was something out of his control.
Unless he could make Baruch utterly worship and revere him, there was little he could do to change his true nature when he was outside his range of control.
This didn't stop Hadrian from wanting to make the attempt, after all in the future when he obtained other mages of the three paths as vessels, they would be like Baruch.
If there was a new path of discovery concerning his authority, it was something Hadrian would love to learn, even if he did not plan to use it.
On the matter of "tiers" just like he'd told that rank one mage he killed in Doran's street, he was still unaware of how to do that.
Of course, he had one guess. The Pandemonium realms.
I had basked at the idea of not needing them.
As Hadrian had seen after obtaining the rank two cores, the number of mage vessels he could have were reduced.
This meant at his current "tier" if he were to obtain another rank two's cores, his number of mage vessels would be reduced further.
By rank three and four, he could probably only have only one mage vessel.
His seamless swapping of cores only happened between the vessels he had in the "real" world.
If he had only one vessel and wanted to swap the cores he was using, he would have to enter the dull white space first.
In the middle of a fight, this would be of a great disadvantage.
If this was the case, it made him question if he could even have rank three and higher cores at his current tier.
Based on Bagdona's reaction to his call, there seemed to be a qualitative change from rank two to three.
Shaking the thoughts away, he focused back onto the box being wrapped in layers of fog.
He then watched it descend into the fog and second layer, and his consciousness followed.
Once there, he could already feel the weak intent of the box through the layers of fog.
Existing as sight only, he took the risk and unwrapped the layers.
In an instant, the box's intent filled the space.
This time however, Hadrian in the first layer smiled.
It seemed to only be that initial release of intent, as its fog layer restriction was lifted.
Previously, it had teleported all over the hazy space, failing to get out.
It had made Hadrian wonder how the sorcerer lady had even managed to use it.
Hadrian's consciousness was affected in that second layer, but since he simultaneously existed in the first layer, its effects on him were cancelled out.
Well, it's good progress, but I'm still not sure if I can bring it to the real world.
Out of the mist, the main Hadrian vessel walked out and approached the mystical artifact.
Lifted by the mist, it rose to his hand.
It seems this space's conditions meet its "storage" requirements.
With the box in his hand, Hadrian stimulated some of his own essence and intent.
He wasn't sure what other abilities the box had. If he were to bring it to the real world, stimulate it, and it manifests the wrong ability, it would bring him more harm than good.
The sword was much easier, all I had to do was swing.
The essence of the box reacted, and that space disorientation intent was unleashed.
Tsk. Is this your default?
Back when the witch had trapped him, she had used terra sorcery on the box to teleport around him and seal him.
She was a sorcerer and probably had rules she could use. Hadrian, meanwhile, was playing a guessing game.
Snapping his fingers, a rock appeared in Hadrian's other hand, and he let it float in the hazy mist.
Bringing the metal box in front of it, he opened its lid slightly, and channeled his essence.
The rock in front of the box flickered and disappeared.
Hadrian heaved with a sigh of relief.
"Finally," he said out loud.
If he could bring the box back into the real world and use it, he wouldn't even have to fight his targets. He could simply seal them and bring them into this space where he was practically a god.
Of course, part of him was telling him as soon as he brought the box into the real world, it would teleport away.
This was one of the reasons he wanted to make the attempt of turning his other vessels to a state similar to Baruch.
Back when he'd turned Aisha into a vessel, he didn't get the knowledge of terra sorcery.
This time round, if he could turn the sorcerer lady into his vessel and make her state like Baruch, then she could teach him how to use the box because she wouldn't have a choice.
The reason Hadrian was slightly confident on the matter was because his vessels weren't dead until they were separated from him.
Until I meet her again, I can only make more vessels for now.
