Godfire: The Split Soul

Chapter 144: F*ck the Demons in Hell

Years flew by like water. Shadows of old trees shrinking and new ones forming replaced the bamboos at the front of the western temple.

Swirling leaves, sounds, and movements filled the inside and outside of the temple as heavy silence dwelled within.

Buildings remained in their ruined postures, ashes and human bones scattered on the ground like stones. But at the front of the descending stairs leading to the Shadow Cult, warm blood streaked the ground.

At the base of the stairs, Jack's rotting body remained in a crawling posture, its hands stretched toward the half-moon arc door.

Meanwhile, at a far distance from the western side of Westeros to the country's central point, noises rose.

"Who is that boy who always walks wearing an old-fashioned robe?" a man leaning at the side of a mirror-like wall asked.

"No one knows where he comes from. But he passes by every day, same hour, same robe." Another guy with a long white beard added, then sighed.

"Isn't he a time traveler? Because, per his outfit, no twenty-first-century kid will ever wear that to go out."

A short laughter rose.

"Don't be kidding," the thick-bearded man brushed the shoulder of his friend. "Caleb, are you still fantasizing about time travelers?"

"Oh, yeah. For me, I believe they exist."

"Sure, sure. But have you forgotten about the fake news about that student from the Vamus College that was brought up?" Zac stated, his expression turning jovial.

"And what information is that? Update me."

"Oh, don't tell me you didn't hear about the boy who stated he went back to the dinosaur era."

Caleb squinted his eyes. 'Dinosaur era, dinosaur era?' His thinking expression shifted to laughter. "I heard that. Isn't it the one he said he was nearly killed?"

"Yeah. That's why I still don't believe in those myths about time travel and whatever." Zac stated, then pulled himself from the wall.

"Let's get going before the crazy boss comes and fires us."

The two friends went back into the KZF, the best pizza-making company in the central city of Westeros. Yes, that's the only city where the rich work hand in hand with the poor, yet treat them like trash.

Skyscrapers filled almost the entire city. Schools, hospitals, churches, and even public lavatories were of the same structure.

There, birds lived in buildings even the poor couldn't afford. Children—I mean the rich ones—had human pets that did all their chores and assignments.

They went to the extreme of even carrying the kids on their backs when they felt like not using their vehicles.

Hospitals were countless. Big ones were associated with the rich and government officials, medium ones with the average-earning people, and finally, the crazy ones that were always killing their patients.

Although everyone, including Zac and Caleb, knew, they couldn't stop going there for treatment.

Under the transparent traffic light that only appeared when a poor man's vehicle passed by, taunts of vehicles choked there.

A chorus of horns filled the air. Everyone behind the steering wheel had fire burning on their faces as they kept a still face at the zebra crossing.

"Why are they making noise?" a little girl wearing a shimmering blue shirt asked, tilting her head to the right.

There, a young, skinny lady, chewing gum like a fresh chicken, rolled her big blue eyes at the wretched old Ferrari. "Don't mind them. Keep going. They are just angry and hungry."

The gold bangles around the lady's left foot dangled when she reached the other side and slammed her leg on the ground.

"Ouuuch," she screamed, flapping her arms like a bird. "Something has pierced through my foot."

She slowly walked, dragging her leg until her butt touched the black lovers' bench. She pulled out a Techno mobile device, the only device she could afford with her prostitute life.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

She dialed a number that came up with the name Jonny Sins. Beside the name were two wet potatoes and a locked padlock.

"Hello, darling," her voice softened. "Can you come and pick me up?" She waited, squeezing her face, listening to the male voice from the other end.

Ahem.

She cleared her throat. "Okay. I'm at the junction you normally pick me up at." She ended the call just like that, then threw the phone at the six-year-old girl.

"You're the reason all these are happening." She ranted at the little innocent girl for her bad day and not getting anyone.

Her fury deepened when Jonny Sins's face popped up in her mind. Then she slapped the girl hard. Slam!

The impact pushed the girl about two feet forward, slamming her head on the pavement.

"Aunty Kate…" the little girl screamed the name loudly as tears rained down from her eyes. She moved forward, crying unstoppably.

"Don't come near me, else…" Kate raised her hand for another slap, but stopped. She pulled her hand back, pulled down her cropped top, then smiled.

The sun's rays made her soft, big, standing breasts sparkle like diamonds. She tilted her head slowly, stared at the crying Bella, then grinned secretly.

The speeding legs that were slamming the ground hard slowed when he neared the small girl. Jonny Sins stopped, lowered himself to the girl's level, then stretched his arms forward.

"Hey, darling," he said calmly, brushing the girl's tears off. "What's wrong this time?" He wrapped his fingers around the girl and hooked her up.

"Don't mind your aunt. She's as spoiled as a dirty rag." He tilted his head slowly to Kate, then back to Bella.

"Take this." He pulled out a chocolate bar from his pocket and handed it to the girl. In that instant, the girl's tears all vanished as she took the bar from the stranger.

Jonny Sins placed the girl back on the ground, then went and sat closer to Kate.

"Why do you always treat your sister's child this way?" He scolded her with his gaze. "Have you forgotten you will one day also become a mother?"

No matter how much sense he spoke, Kate's lips swelled.

"I will always abort it. They don't deserve to have a mother like me."

"Wow, always abort it. That's good for you." Jonny Sins nodded. "What if you die through that?" He turned a still gaze at Kate.

"Then I will seduce and fuck the demons in hell," she said boldly, then smiled.
