After he said that I was left in awe at how he could do all this. I was pissed at him at first, now I don't know what I can say to him. Thank you? Uh, what have you planned? These are some of the questions that have been rushing through my head. I wondered to myself what his endgame was. He wants something out of this but I didn't know what.
"Well, what do you say Captain?" he asked me.
I looked at him and slowly nodded my head to accept the offer. He smiled at me and his face showed that he was glad to see me agree to the offer.
"Captain from now on you are dead." He announced.
"Excuse me!" I exclaimed.
"You and your teammates are gonna be ghosts dealing with monsters that will be found on your journey. So for now that's all I can say for now. Meet me at this address in a couple hours from now I need to address you four of what will happen and will be taking place. For now you can get some rest."
"When have I ever,"
Mynde chuckled after hearing me say that, then asked for another glass of whiskey and relaxed his facial expression. He got his glass and slowly sipped the whiskey.
I got up to take my leave. Outside the bar, I got into my motorbike, a decent 200cc engine motorcycle with 600 BHP. A lot of power it can deliver but I mostly use it for cruising and other things.
By my bike were three men who tried to steal but didn't know how to start the engine. Fools is what I had called them. I confronted them and they ignored me.
"If you don't want to end up in the hospital or quite possibly the morgue." I told them.
They looked at me and laughed out loud. They found my words amusing and I laughed along with them, laughing at their foolishness, they stopped laughing and one told the other, "Get this weirdo," I scoffed and one the trio walked up to me and swung a fist toward my face.
I let it hit me and did not flinch nor did it do. I just stood still and watched the man who punch me become afraid in a short amount of time. I glared at him and him by the neck and had him dangling by his feet of the ground. He struggled trying to get me to loosen my grip though I felt generous that evening even though I had taken care of others before even getting to the bar.
Their souls were tainted and I didn't feel like taking of it as of then.
The other two witnessed me holding their friend by his neck and ran off. 'Smart choice,' I thought to myself. I dropped him and he landed on his ass. Wide eyed, he got up and ran off after his friends. I hopped on my motorbike, took out the key from my pocket and put it in the ignition and turned the engine on. The engine roared to life, I got it in first gear and rode off to my place of residence deep in the city.
The block was clean, less crime took place here than other parts of the city, which were riddled with criminal activities. I arrived by my apartment in the very same block. I got up to my apartment room which was very minimalistic. It had a sofa, TV and TV stand, stereo on either side of the TV stand, with some plants on it, a coffee table and rug all in the living room. Though, I had a TV I didn't use it as much because I would always be either out of my room dealing with some demons outside and crooks and criminals or working on my laptop filled with reports, files. All these I do in the evening.
During the day I would be at the base a little outside the city on classified work at times, training new recruits, leading platoons or attending tedious meetings. On average it would take more than that to tire me out but it was what it was.
In the kitchen there was a fridge filled with food which I compress into tablets using equipment I have on the kitchen counter. This equipment is what I use all the time and I have a few thousand tablets I should be taking. You know the reason, no need for me to repeat it again. Though I would do it again I won't.
Food wasn't a problem for me at all. In my pocket buzzed my phone, -someone was calling- I took it out and answered the call. "I will send you the location. Be there when you can but don't keep me waiting," General Mynde said though he used a number I was unfamiliar with.
I packed what little I had and headed back out. On my way there I had the location on my phone and followed directions to the place. It was an abandoned warehouse that he wanted us to meet. I arrived and drove inside the building.
Inside were a lot of electronics, a few machinery and cables. Mynde was standing by speaking to a woman in red before he noticed me. The woman walked as I approached after parking my bike away and having my helmet on my bike.
"Glad you made it Captain," he said.
"What is ALL this about?" I asked him.
"Follow me and you will find out,"
So we left the area were we stood to another room with Donny, Marie and Dante in it. My first impressions of them was not as spectacular as one would assume because then they dressed in a mannerism that insinuated bad character.
However that was all I had to recall from everything before all that was happening. I got out of my mind and back to the real world.
"We have to move out," I told everyone.
"Captain, it's a lot more dangerous at these hours with more demons roaming around even ones we hadn't seen or faced," Donny said.
"What your friend is saying is true. I don't believe we would be able to handle these demons neither Tarius nor I." Veronica spoke out in addition to what Donny said.
"Look, Captain I am not opposed to what you are saying but these two are right. We can't go out when the danger level has risen this high." Marie told me agreeing their notion.
"Fine we will stay here for the night and I will keep watch," I said after thinking of my response thoroughly.
"Brother, after all you have been through you deserve rest. We shan't allow you overexert yourself. I plea with you." Tarius said.
I looked at them. Walked back toward a nearby wall sat down, my arm resting on my knee. I slowly closed my eyes and drifted off into slumber.
