Chapter 49: RETRIBUTION IN PHASES (R.I.P.) CAPTAIN

Dusk rose and we situated ourselves outside a warehouse in the Industrial Sector in the city. We took the time to look at the list and have decided to take out the all the members including the leader, The Harlem, the one who had tortured me and Marie.

The warehouse we were outside off had guards outside roaming the vicinity, guns strapped on them imbued with demonic power. We scrutinized their faces and seemed to have demonic implants to enhance them, and some nasty friends as company and they seemed intelligent by their movement and posture.

"Status report," I said. Looking back into the unmarked, black van we traversed to this side of the city with. Inside the back of the van Donny was on the computers looking at the monitors for confirmation of Operation: Black Out.

The atmosphere became tense, and it was time to get my gauntlets Angel's Bloodshed ready for the fight. We are here to go after Maggie the manufacturer in the underworld, and she subsequently is the supplier of weapons, reinforced demon armour, demonic implants and some of the tools The Harlem used on me.

We had gotten info from General Mynde's insiders through the O.D.I.H. system we have back at base. They were anonymous so, that gave us time to prepare for the next part of the mission, few days to prepare, plan and execute.

"Umm… We are clear to- wait there's another individual meeting with Maggie in her office," Donny reported.

"Another individual? Do you a better description of the third party?" I asked him.

"No, I am blind here. Neither the third party nor Maggie are visible," He replied.

"Do we proceed as planned Captain?" Marie asked eager and frustrated.

I thought about the situation concerning the additional factors that came forth and gave my reply, "We shall proceed, anyone try to stop must not be spared," and everyone nodded in unison. "Remember that Veronicah and I can't kill people, only humans but let's make it quick and neat," I told them.

"Roger that!" everyone spoke.

Quickly moving in taking out each guard and watchmen posted outside the factory. Veronicah and I immobilizing them then the remaining three make them fall into eternal slumber but, they would carry out the onslaught on their own accord.

Progressing into the factory we witnessed a slaughter like none other, inside the seemingly sophisticated decorated interior of the factory, porcelain floor tiles, disinfected conveyor belts that transported the unfinished weapons, implants and armour from one large machine to another, but the pristine condition of the factory was tainted by blood of the workers. Their blood was on many regions of the factory and the remaining employees.

Up on the first floor Maggie was engaged in combat with the third party, she was a lovely dark skin brunette who held her own ground in the fight. Her frame was slim and had curvature in the places of interesting. Drop dead gorgeous indeed. The third party she was fighting was me. Wait, what! A doppelgänger he was, fighting her. I have look back at this script, author I know you don't mean ill against me but what the actual fuck is this. Shit I have to say all of this? Fuck.

My team was as astonished as I looking at the absurd sight. "Captain, what the fuck is going on?" Marie asked. I looked at her raising my eyebrow and looked back at the duellists above. "I have no idea," I responded honestly.

Something about Maggie erupted intrigue in me, though she is not dressed to fight in a slick black dress, that hugged her tightly showing her features clearly, she had a form that allowed her to fight in such an outfit. She didn't seem to have any demonic implant on her as I could not sense any demonic power, however, there was power radiating from her.

Then goons came in and surrounded us. My team, though they needed me, insisted on me to handle Maggie and the doppelganger. I relented to them and jumped all the way up to the first floor. I swung my left arm down and my sword, firmly grasped in my hand, appeared and in my right hand my pistol stopping the fighting parties in their tracks.

"Who the hell are you!" Maggie demanded.

I slowly turned my head toward her, frustrated and agitated self, with a smirk and spoke, "Maggie, I am your grim reaper." Her face showed bemusement, and she stepped back before pulling out her weapon from behind her office door, a crimson long sword with a hardened obsidian edge that can cut through fifty layers of paper in one stroke. "Wait, I remember you now, that bitch Amelia's associate. You're hard to kill I see, cumbersome indeed. Nonetheless I will kill you and that fucking mute doppelganger of yours," she said sadistically.

The doppelganger pushed my sword away and narrowed his focus on Maggie, thinking that the sword she has would slow her down. As much as I hate to admit it, she handled the sword with exceptional control and finesse, none that I have seen before. It was sublime swordsmanship.

In a matter of seconds, the doppelganger did not last long and perished in the attempt of afflicting damage. She then locked her on eyes on me, pointed the tip of her blade toward me and dashed in my direction. I barely managed to deflect on time since she had caught me off guard and the speed she moved at was unexpectedly quick.

"You're somewhat more experienced than that waste of time but you want do that again," she spoke arrogantly.

She rushed me and tried to slash me; I dodged it in time before she could hit me and parried her. Stepping back she, she repositioned herself away from me to readjust her attacks. She stood still waiting for my attack, though I didn't fall for her trap but instead I had summoned my gun and shot at her.

"Typical," she spoke as she had expected it from me. Then she dodged and dashed toward me going low aiming for my vital organs. Then I switched from my pistols and sword to my gauntlets, Angel's Bloodshed. Caught the tip of the blade with my left hand adorned with one gauntlet and I broke her blade with my right hand adorned with the other.

She was shocked and that gave me an opportunity to attack. I ducked low when she retracted the blade back and punched her in the gut with enough force to send her flying, then I caught her leg midair, pulled her back and launched another punch to her chest. She hit the floor hard that I broke under our feet and we fell to the ground floor and into continual brawl between my team and the goons.

The noise of brawling stopped. I picked Maggie by her shoulder length and raised above my head while she was struggling to loosen my grip. "No hard feelings, right? We just need your boss to know that we are here to take him and everyone in the underground network you have for demons down, including you. That also means that you must die!" I told her.

In place of my gauntlets was my sword held in my left hand. She was begging for her life, even offering opportunities, women, money, fame and to even help me kill The Harlem. I was in no state to listen to what she said. My blade ended up going through her neck, her body dropping to the ground with her head still in my hand.

We had accomplished one part of the mission. Though something felt off, the power I sensed didn't dissipate, instead it felt even more powerful. I dropped her head. The power caused me to feel dizzy, but I knew the power. Every angel emitted such power, but she wasn't a pure angel that much I could tell.

Her body began glowing and I stumbled away, Dante rushed to my aid and put my left arm across his shoulders, carrying me out of the factory.

"You will rule this day after you had killed me mortal," a powerful feminine voice spoke. I looked back and it was the angel I had seen two years ago across the pit of the research facility in Downtime City.

"I had mistaken myself in believing you had sense. My blood is on your hands, and I will get my revenge on you," she said and she fly out of the factory through the skylight shattering the glass.

The remaining goons were dealt with explosives my team managed to plant during their brawl. We hopped into the van; I sat down on one of the chairs in the back and we drove back to the safe house.
