A Bumpy Road to Power

Chapter 149: Airbag

"Hey, you owe me a dinner."

It was evening.

Dirk Carter had just finished tidying up and was leaving Donal Lewis's office when the playful Elaine Nolan suddenly appeared, startling Dirk.

It wasn't because Dirk was timid.

It was because Elaine had changed her attire today.

The last few days and during the day she'd been in formal wear.

Today, she wore a tight sleeveless T-shirt, and the enormous objects on her chest were just wrapped up, looking quite large.

Ewan Forrest's were already considered big enough.

But compared to Elaine, they were nothing.

This size was at least above an E.

Generally, such sizes tend to sag a bit, but not Elaine's, they remained quite firm.

She was wearing sharkskin pants on her lower body.

They were also quite tight.

The "impressive" hips looked quite huge under the tight pants.

However.

There wasn't a bit of "fatness" on her; instead, she seemed very sexy.

No wonder people say a man's favorite body type is not skinny like a stick, but well-shaped in clothes and full when undressed, and Elaine was precisely this type.

"Why are you dressed like this?"

Dirk frowned and asked.

Elaine looked down and asked, "What's wrong? It doesn't look good? I usually go to the gym upstairs for a while after work at night, losing weight."

Dirk looked around.

Not a soul in the hallway.

Then he whispered, leaning closer to Elaine's ear, "Aren't you wearing any underwear?"

Elaine's face turned red instantly and she exclaimed, "How do you know? Are you peeping at me?"

Dirk waved his hand and said, "I'm so busy all day, how could I have time to peep at you—"

"Then how do you know I'm not wearing—"

She stopped in the middle, finding it hard to say, and immediately stopped.

Dirk pointed towards Elaine's front, and when Elaine looked down, her face turned red, spreading to her neck, and she quickly covered the area with her hands, scolding, "Ahhh, I'm so embarrassed, after exercising and sweating, I just... took off... my underwear..."

Dirk wasn't being a perv.

Before she covered it with her hands.

The area had a very deep and noticeable crevice, and from the depth of that crease, one could tell it was definitely bare inside the sharkskin pants.

And judging by the shape pressed against the pants.

Elaine's body was a rather full one.

Dirk chuckled.

He took off his jacket.

And tied it around Elaine's waist himself, so the awkward spot was completely covered.

"Come on, I'll treat you to dinner."

With that, Dirk walked away straight away.

Elaine hesitated for a moment and then followed him.

The two went to a small restaurant and ordered a few dishes.

Perhaps due to being hungry after exercising.

Elaine wolfed down a bowl of rice.

She patted her belly, belched, and took a long breath, saying, "I'm full, that was awesome."

"Want another bowl?"

Dirk asked.

Elaine quickly waved her hand and said, "No more, need to lose weight!"

"You're not fat at all, with a figure like yours, do you know how many women would be envious? You don't need to lose weight at all."

"No no no, I still need to lose weight, you don't know... these... these two on my chest... how burdensome they are."

Elaine said shyly.

Dirk had just taken a sip of water and sprayed it out, then started coughing violently.

Once his coughing settled down.

Dirk said, "You really don't know the hunger of a starving man when you're not among them, do you know how many people would kill to have your... this pair? You want to get rid of them, that's just wasteful, don't you know?"

"But... but I just think those smaller ones look so nice, and clothes are easier to buy, they look better on, and you men surely like that more..."

Perhaps being in a public place.

Elaine spoke in a very low voice.

"You're not a man, how can you know what we like?"

Dirk murmured.

If it weren't for Elaine's intimidating grandfather, Dirk would've probably thrown in some cheeky jokes.

"And you? Do you prefer big ones or small ones?"

Elaine suddenly leaned in and asked.

Dirk was again put on the spot.

He scratched his head and said, "Having the big ones is great, if not, small ones will do, but compared to small, big ones offer more fun."

"Fun? What kind of fun?"

Elaine asked curiously.

In Dirk's mind, a scene of two eggs with a sausage in between popped up.

He laughed, "As for what fun, I'm not telling you, that's a man's secret."

"Hmph, stingy."

Elaine waved her hand and didn't ask further.

After dinner.

Dirk offered to take Elaine home.

At first, Elaine courteously refused.

Unable to resist Dirk's insistence, she agreed.

"Where to?"

After Elaine sat on the bike, Dirk asked.

"Apex Gardens!" Elaine said.

Dirk was puzzled and asked, "You live in Apex Gardens?"

"Yeah, why?"

Elaine asked curiously.

Dirk continued to ask, "Which building and floor do you live in Apex Gardens?"

"Building one, ninth floor. It's a model home; my grandpa just let me move in a few days ago, saying it's a high-end community with better security."

"Oh wow, we're neighbors; I live on the eighth floor."

Dirk was so shocked his jaw nearly dropped.

Hearing this, Elaine was also delighted, saying, "That's great; now we're neighbors, I can ride with you to and from work, and I won't need to take a cab anymore."

"Do you take a cab to work every day?"

Dirk asked.

Elaine nodded and said, "I don't know how to drive, so I can only take a cab."

"Is your salary enough for that?"

"Salary? I don't even know how much my salary is; my grandpa gave me a card, so I usually use that, never used my salary card once."

Hearing this, Dirk was speechless and said, "Alright, forget I asked. Hold on tight, let's go."

At first, when Dirk heard he'd be taking Elaine to and from work every day, he wasn't too happy about it; wouldn't that just be another hassle?

But after just one sudden brake, he experienced the joy of having Elaine on the back.

Driving steadily down the road.

An electric bike suddenly cut across out of nowhere.

Dirk instinctively squeezed the brake, and two soft bumps hit his back—what a delightful sensation.

From the small restaurant to Apex Gardens, Dirk must have hit the brakes more than two or three dozen times, and each time the two "airbags" behind him perfectly bumped into him, making Dirk feel utterly thrilled along the way.

"By the way, I forgot to ask you today, how did you know Sherman Summers was planning something against me?"

As they got on the elevator, Dirk asked.

Elaine looked puzzled and said, "I didn't know. It was grandpa who told me and asked if I wanted to help you. I said of course."

"So it wasn't you who knew ahead of time?"

"Of course not, I'm just a small intern, what could I know?"

Elaine replied.

Upon hearing this, Dirk suddenly realized that Gage Nolan probably said it was Elaine who asked him for help to ensure Dirk remembered the favor as being from Elaine.

That way.

It was also a chance for him to "look after" Elaine more.

With Gage's status, it wouldn't be hard to find out Dirk's matters, so if his guess was correct, even Elaine's apartment was intentionally arranged right above his.

"This old man isn't quite the good guy, huh."

Thinking of this.

Dirk sighed heavily and remarked.

Elaine asked, "Old man, which old man is not a good person?"

Dirk was startled and quickly explained, "I meant the restaurant owner today, charged us ten extra bucks..."

Seeing no unusual reaction from Elaine.

Dirk stuck out his tongue, almost having said the wrong thing.

After dropping Elaine off upstairs.

Dirk went home, just about to take a shower and sleep when the phone inconveniently rang.

Looking at the phone.

It was an unknown number.

Dirk pressed the answer key, and as soon as he held it to his ear, he heard a voice shout, "let me go! Let me go!"

Dirk froze.

It was Sierra Vincent's voice.
