A Bumpy Road to Power

Chapter 153: If You Don't Mess with Me I Won't Mess with You

The same spot as before.

If the first blow was like the wailing of ghosts and wolves, then the scream from the second blow was earth-shattering, like a ghostly lament.

Dirk Carter had no intention of stopping.

After the third and fourth blows landed.

A-Bao was in so much pain he was about to faint.

Dirk Carter took a bottle of mineral water from Ewan Forrest's hand, gulped down a big swig, then poured the rest over A-Bao's face.

This was to wake him up a bit.

"Brother Bao, what's wrong? Can't take it anymore? Honestly, I preferred you rebellious like you were just now."

After speaking.

The fifth stick had just been raised.

A-Bao couldn't endure it any longer.

Reaching out, he begged, "I was wrong, I was wrong, please don't hit me anymore, please stop, I'm about to die. I'll tell you, I'll tell you, the person helping us in Stillwater County is Garnett Golding, I think he's the secretary to the county government leader. He's the one who gave me your address, and he also helped us arrange this warehouse."

Garnett Golding?

Upon hearing this name.

Dirk Carter was both surprised and unsurprised.

Beforehand, he had never quite figured out who was behind Delilah Goodman and Caroline Lynch's transfers, but now he understood. It was likely a setup by Juwan Meyer and Sherman Summers.

Thunk.

The fifth blow wasn't wasted either.

Dirk Carter still carried it out.

Then he tossed the stick aside.

He sighed deeply and said, "Let's go."

Caleb Ford asked, "What do we do with these people?"

Dirk Carter glanced disdainfully at the people on the ground and said, "Stillwater County is a hospitable place. Visitors are guests; since they've come, we can't let them feel unwelcome, so…"

"Alright, I understand."

Caleb Ford nodded.

Then he snapped his fingers at his men.

Supporting Dirk Carter out the door, the warehouse echoed with screams through the night sky once more.

If at this moment someone happened to pass by in the dark, they might have thought the warehouse was haunted.

Just moments ago, his whole body was in a state of excitement.

He didn't feel much pain.

But once in the car, every cell in his body began protesting.

"How are you?"

Sierra Vincent grabbed Dirk Carter's arm and asked.

Dirk Carter opened his mouth and made some noises, but Sierra Vincent couldn't understand. She tightened her grip, worriedly asking, "What's wrong with you?"

"It hurts, it hurts, you're hurting me."

Dirk Carter finally managed to squeeze out these words.

Only then did Sierra Vincent realize and release her grip, tears suddenly streaming down her face.

"It's all my fault, I caused this to you."

She said in a sobbing voice.

Dirk Carter smiled and said, "How can I blame you? I chose to come, and after all, I was one of their targets for revenge."

"That's because I am the White Tiger, and you got unlucky because of me, so it's all my fault."

Sierra Vincent wiped her tears and said.

Dirk Carter reached out, helping her wipe away the tears at the corner of her eyes.

Leaning to her ear, he whispered, "Nonsense, that's all superstition. Once I recover, I still want to touch you, will you agree to it?"

Sierra Vincent laughed through her tears.

She lightly patted Dirk Carter.

And said, "Look at the time, how can you still be so improper..."

"How am I improper? Romantic love is the most proper thing in the world. First, answer me, when I get better, will you let the Azure Dragon and White Tiger have a good meeting for some deep communication?"

Dirk Carter asked with a sleazy tone.

"You're annoying, I'm ignoring you."

Sierra Vincent turned her head, pretending to be angry.

Seeing this, Dirk Carter immediately cried out in feigned pain.

Sierra Vincent, worried, quickly turned back and asked, "What's wrong? Where are you hurt?"

"Everything hurts, especially here."

Dirk Carter pointed between his legs.

Sierra Vincent then realized he was teasing her again.

This time, she wasn't shy.

She gazed at Dirk Carter with deep affection and said, "You've saved my life twice, whatever you want, whenever you want it, if I have it, it's yours. I'm just afraid... I'm afraid such things will keep happening."

"To die under the peony blossom is a wonderful way to go, right? Enough complaining, I'll have someone take you to the hospital for a check-up later. I have some other things to handle."

Dirk Carter said.

Sierra Vincent asked, "You're hurt so badly, what else do you have to deal with?"

Dirk Carter smiled.

And said, "To return the favor, after such a grand display they put on, wouldn't it be remiss not to reciprocate?"

In the suite at The Argent Grand Hotel.

On the floor of the living room, clothes lay scattered.

From the doorway all the way to the bedroom door.

There are suits, there are skirts.

There's boxers and briefs.

On the bedroom bed.

Garnett Golding, with legs over his shoulders, impatiently said, "I'm going in, alright?"

Soon after.

The man and woman quickly merged as one.

Just like the last time, the sprint lasted about three minutes.

Garnett Golding couldn't hold it anymore.

With a thrust, he spasmed for a moment, then collapsed onto the woman.

"Brother, you're amazing."

The woman held Garnett Golding's head, looking all blissful.

It must be said, the woman's acting was quite good.

"Amazing, right? Let me tell you, most men aren't as strong as I am, you found yourself a treasure."

Praised by the woman.

Garnett Golding felt a bit clouded in pride.

He crawled up, leaned against the bed, lit a cigarette, and said with satisfaction.

"Mm, brother really is so strong, I nearly couldn't take it earlier, almost fainted."

The woman was very understanding.

Leaning against Garnett Golding's chest, she cooed.

Swept up in her flattery, Garnett Golding felt elated, really believing that his three-minute performance was unbeatable.

His hand fiddling on the woman's head, he was considering resting for a bit before going for another round when suddenly, there was a beep from outside the door, indicating someone had come in.

Garnett Golding frowned slightly.

Extinguished his cigarette.

Quickly threw on a robe and said, "I'll go check."

The woman hummed, thinking someone had caught them, quickly wrapped herself in the quilt.

Opening the bedroom door, Garnett Golding was just about to start cursing when the scene before him left him stunned.

On the sofa in the living room.

Sat a person.

None other than Dirk Carter.

Behind Dirk Carter stood two women, identical in appearance.

"Chen... Secretary General Carter, what are you doing here?"

For a moment, Garnett Golding was at a loss.

By all rights, shouldn't Dirk Carter be at A-Bao's by now?

Dirk Carter looked very weak.

His clothes were a mess, covered in dust.

He looked up, smiled faintly, and asked, "Why, Secretary Golding, are you surprised?"

"Uh... no, Secretary General Carter, this is my room, how could you just come in like this? Isn't that a bit too much?"

Snapping back to reality.

Garnett Golding asked with some displeasure.

Dirk Carter paused, then said seriously, "Secretary Golding, let me be frank. I, Dirk Carter, have always lived by the rule of not offending others unless offended. If someone offends me, I ensure they get payback, double at least. Having been so graciously entertained by Secretary Golding today, I have to come and say thank you, lest I seem rude."

The words had a deeper meaning.

Garnett Golding immediately caught on.

His face turned somewhat unpleasant.

Yet he pretended not to understand and said, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't understand? It's fine, I'll make sure you understand."

Dirk Carter paused, and with a serious tone he said, "Secretary General Carter, I'll be frank, I, Dirk Carter, am one who never strikes first. But if someone crosses me, they'll get it back double. I came today to express my thanks to you personally for the warm hospitality."

He looked at Ewan Forrest.

Ewan Forrest nodded, stepping into the bedroom.

"What are you doing? What are you doing?"

In the bedroom,

Ewan Forrest emerged holding a tall, glamorous woman.

The woman, like Garnett Golding, was wearing a robe and looked quite flustered as she saw the scene in the living room.

Garnett Golding let out a sneer and said, "Dirk Carter, we're just friends, can't we rent a room to chat? You wouldn't stoop to such a low level, would you?"
