A Bumpy Road to Power

Chapter 271: I Am a Villain by Nature

"Did you figure it out?"

Dirk Carter asked.

Elsie Eames shook her head and said, "I'm not a politician; I can't figure out political matters. As for the two women before, I couldn't tell by sight, but I could feel it out."

"Feel it out? What do you mean?"

Dirk asked.

As soon as he finished speaking.

Elsie moved.

She sat down beside Dirk Carter.

Seeing Dirk getting a bit tense, Elsie said, "Don't be nervous, or are you afraid I'm going to eat you up?"

"What should I be afraid of?"

Dirk retorted.

Elsie smiled slightly, but her hand suddenly moved to Dirk Carter's crotch.

With a ripping sound, she unzipped his pants, and before Dirk could stop her, her hand had already reached inside.

"Now I know where your charm lies."

Elsie said confidently.

Dirk asked, "Where?"

"Right here, with this thing. It's so big, which woman wouldn't be fascinated by it?"

Elsie giggled.

This Elsie was too bold, even bolder than Dirk, who had seen countless women. In most cases, he was the one making the move, but this woman he was meeting for only the second time had already initiated an intimate encounter.

"Do you want to try and see?"

Dirk deliberately asked.

He wanted to see just how brave Elsie was.

Elsie provocatively asked, "Do you think I don't dare?"

Dirk shrugged and said, "I bet you don't dare."

Elsie's hand suddenly halted.

She pursed her lips, seeming to be making a firm decision, and said, "Then you lost."

After saying that.

She took out Dirk's Titan.

In shock, she opened her small cherry-like mouth and engulfed it.

Suddenly, Elsie stopped, looked at Dirk, and said confidently, "How about another bet?"

"Bet on what?"

"Bet on whether I can make you surrender in five minutes."

Elsie said.

Dirk smiled and asked, "And what's the stake?"

Elsie said, "If I win, you help me get away from Kelton Levin. If you win, I help you take down Bjorn Dixon."

"How did you know this was the reason I came to you?"

Dirk asked.

Elsie smiled and said, "Since Caden Dixon is your man, you should know why I came to Kenton County. I have no other value; it's impossible to use me to take down Kelton Levin, so there's only Bjorn Dixon."

"You're very clever, but winning like this feels a bit undeserved. Ten minutes, I'll give you ten minutes. If I surrender within ten minutes, it counts as your win."

"So confident?"

Elsie asked with a smirk.

Dirk said, "You can give it a try?"

"Then I'll get started."

After saying this, Elsie buried her head down.

You have to admit, Elsie's skills were impressive. Except for Chloe Clay, who runs the gym, she's probably second in oral skills.

Unfortunately, for Dirk, she was still a bit lacking.

A Ferris wheel takes ten minutes for one rotation.

Two rotations finished.

Fifteen minutes.

Elsie finally admitted defeat.

Panting heavily from exhaustion.

She said, "Alright, you win."

"So you're willing to help me?"

"What do you want me to do?"

Elsie asked, stretching her sore cheeks.

Dirk leaned close to her ear and whispered a few words.

Elsie nodded and said, "Don't worry, I'll do as you say, but I still want to know, what's your aim in doing all this?"

"To get Caden Dixon to the top!" Dirk replied without hesitation.

Perhaps Elsie didn't expect him to be so straightforward, and she was a little taken aback before she laughed and said, "Isn't this approach a bit vicious?"

Dirk said frankly, "I'm a petty person to begin with, and this move just ruins his reputation; it's a last resort. Besides, as the greats said, whether it's a white cat or a black cat, as long as it catches mice, it's a good cat. If necessary, I'll be the black cat."

After speaking, he paused and then said, "After this is over, I'll find a way to help you get away from Kelton Levin."

"Are you sure?"

Is there an unexpected surprise?

Asked Elsie.

Dirk nodded and said, "I'm sure!"

The winds of change began on New Year's Day, but the following days of the holiday were calm and uneventful.

Until the first day back at work on the seventh day of the New Year.

Dirk Carter pushed open the door to Warren Young's office.

"Has the transfer order come down?"

Dirk asked as soon as he entered.

Warren Young nodded, sighed, and said, "Kenton County is a troublesome place. It's good to leave early."

"Where to?"

Dirk asked.

Warren Young glanced at the red-letter document on the table and said, "Water Conservancy Bureau, taking the lead role. If all goes well, it should be where I'll retire. It's not a big deal for me, but your situation might become more challenging."

Dirk laughed and said, "Secretary Young, even if you were here, my situation might not improve; I might even drag you down. When does this transfer order take effect?"

Warren Young said, "Today is the last day. Tomorrow morning, I'll report to the city committee's organization department."

"Before you leave, can you do me one last favor?"

Dirk asked.

Warren Young paused and said, "Go ahead, as long as it's something I can do."

"Help me transfer someone from the city police department."

Dirk said.

Warren Young didn't even think before saying, "Sure, give me the name, and I'll arrange it a bit later."

"Aren't you going to ask why?"

Dirk asked, a little surprised.

Warren Young laughed heartily and said, "I'm about to leave; what do I care if you stir things up? But be careful, Bjorn Dixon is not someone to be underestimated."

"I understand, thank you, Secretary Young. Until we meet again."

"Alright, until we meet again."

Stepping out of the office.

Dirk got into Yves Quill's car, heading to Ardmore City.

This morning, he received a call from Ardmore City's organization department, asking him to come over. It seemed that Bjorn Dixon's "suggestions" had started taking effect.

Step by step, everything was developing according to the plan he and Caden Dixon had discussed.

At eleven o'clock in the morning.

Dirk arrived on time at the city committee's organization department.

The department head Dayton Yancy's secretary, Jing Tao, brought Dirk into the meeting room and said, "Comrade Dirk Carter, Minister Yancy is in a meeting with someone right now; please wait a moment."

"Okay, thank you, Secretary Jing."

Dirk politely said.

The wait lasted a full half-hour.

Just as Dirk was growing bored, Jing Tao came in again.

He said, "Comrade Dirk Carter, it's lunchtime now. Minister Yancy has gone directly to eat. He said to ask you to wait a bit longer; he will meet with you after lunch."

What does this mean?

He went to eat.

Leaving me to wait here?

And didn't arrange lunch for me?

Dirk thought for a moment, stood up, and asked, "Secretary Jing, could you please tell me where the city committee's canteen is?"

"Why?"

Jing Tao asked.

Dirk patted his stomach and said, "I'm a bit hungry too. Since the leader has gone to eat, I'll take the opportunity to grab some food too."

Upon hearing this.

Jing Tao's expression immediately turned displeased.

He said, "Comrade Dirk Carter, if you go eat and the leader returns wanting to talk to you but can't find you, should he wait for you, or call the next person? This is the city committee's organization department; Minister Yancy is very busy. Do you think this is your small local place?"

"Oh, is that so? Then could I trouble Secretary Jing to get me a meal from the canteen?"

Dirk said unceremoniously.

Jing Tao couldn't hold it anymore and said rudely, "Comrade Dirk Carter, I am Minister Yancy's secretary; I serve him. Asking me to get your meal is a bit presumptuous, don't you think?"

Dirk smiled and said, "Secretary Jing, it was you who called me to be here at eleven sharp. I arrived on time, not a minute late. Minister Yancy's office is on my left, the elevator on my right. In this half-hour, besides you, I've seen no one go past. Could it be that Minister Yancy climbed down eight flights of stairs to make things hard for me?"

"What do you mean? Do you think the leaders would deceive you?"

Jing Tao asked.

Dirk smiled slightly and said, "Of course, the leaders wouldn't deceive me, but you're different; you're not the leader."
