"You have two choices. First, we make the dishes and you take them to-go; or second, I refund the dishes now and you vacate this room."
The waiter said.
Dirk Carter frowned and said, "I remember when we booked this room, you didn't mention that it was reserved by someone else, so the aftermath is on you. I'm staying for my meal. How you arrange for other guests has nothing to do with us."
Dirk didn't want to leave.
He just wanted to treat the old man to a good meal today.
Just when the waiter was in a pickle.
A young woman in a uniform walked in.
Seeing that Dirk and the others hadn't gotten up, she asked, "What's going on? Didn't I ask you to eject them?"
The word "eject" sounded quite uncomfortable.
It seemed now that the so-called reservation was merely an excuse.
"The guests... the guests said they won't leave."
The waiter said, aggrieved.
On the left chest of the young woman, there was a nameplate.
It read, Lobby Manager Kimberly Dunn.
She sized up Dirk and Yale Quill, then seemed somewhat disdainful.
She said, "Gentlemen, we have other plans for this private room, please vacate immediately."
"Others are guests, and we aren't?"
Dirk asked.
Kimberly Dunn replied sarcastically, "Guests in our restaurant have different levels. You are regular guests. The reservation for this room is from our VIP. Please be understanding."
"Please be understanding" sounded cold and detached.
If handled in a good-tempered manner, this matter would still have leeway.
Dirk despised people who looked down on others.
With arms crossed, he said, "Sorry, the level of the guest doesn't concern me. I've ordered food, and I won't leave until I've had this meal."
As the woman was about to get angry.
A voice at the door asked, "Manager Dunn, what's going on? Where's the private room?"
Kimberly Dunn turned around and immediately became deferential and said, "Minister Huang, please wait a moment. I'll have this cleared immediately."
Apparently, the person outside had grown impatient.
Peeking in, he looked into the room.
Both sides were taken aback.
The so-called Minister Huang turned out to be the middle-aged man from the train who stopped Yale from entering.
The middle-aged man also flinched upon seeing Dirk.
Originally thinking he would be intimidated, he instead burst into laughter, walked into the room loudly announcing, "What a small world, didn't expect it to be you two."
Dirk also didn't expect the one taking their private room would be this man.
Now that it came to this, giving it up was out of the question.
"Oh, turns out it's Minister Huang. Which department?"
Dirk asked.
This Minister Huang also seemed emboldened.
With a snort, he said, "I'm no big deal, a member of the Harmony County Committee, Minister of the United Front Work Department, Callum Hamilton. There were too many people on the train before to reason with you. Heaven truly has eyes; we meet again."
"So what?"
Dirk asked.
Callum Hamilton scoffed contemptuously, saying, "So, next you'll be in trouble."
After saying this, he turned and left.
"Dirk, should we find another place?"
Yale asked.
Dirk smiled slightly and said, "Old man, it's fine. Just enjoy your meal, I'll handle it here."
Just as he finished speaking.
Callum Hamilton returned to the doorway.
This time with two others.
One older, one younger.
The older one appeared to be in his fifties, while the younger one was less than thirty.
Callum Hamilton pointed to the older one and said, "Secretary Ford, these are the two I mentioned before who caused a commotion on the train and have now taken our private room."
As he finished speaking.
The younger one fumed suddenly.
He yelled at Kimberly Dunn, "Manager Dunn, do you want to keep this job? Since when do we let just anyone into The Prosperity Residence?"
Kimberly Dunn, after being scolded.
Had a wronged expression.
Hurriedly said, "Mr. Dean, I called them over, they refuse to leave."
The young man shouted angrily, "They won't leave, are the security guards here just for show? Get them to toss these people out!"
"Alright, I'll call them now."
Having said this.
Kimberly Dunn took out a walkie-talkie and shouted, "Security, security, come to the second floor lounge, everyone come here."
After this order was given.
The man named Dean, bowing and scraping, spoke to Callum Hamilton and Secretary Ford, "Gentlemen, I apologize. It's The Prosperity Residence's fault for the neglect, and we'll clear the space for you now."
From what Dean said, it could be inferred he was the owner of The Prosperity Residence.
The hallway echoed with dense footfalls.
Clearly, the security had arrived.
Seeing such a scene.
Callum Hamilton beamed with pride.
He said to Dirk, "Aren't you quite capable? Go ahead, show me more."
As soon as he finished speaking.
Six security guards rushed in.
Mr. Dean pointed at Dirk and said, "Go on, since they won't leave, give them a hand."
Orders from the boss were unconditionally followed by the security guards.
All six rushed at them, each targeting one person.
Dirk didn't want them to hurt Yale.
Pushing with both feet, he jumped onto a chair, stepped onto the table, swung a leg, and knocked down the first guard going for Yale. Then rolling on the table, he landed on the ground, blocking Yale, and punched the second guard in the stomach.
The guard screamed and rolled under the table.
In rapid succession.
The six guards were quickly down and writhing around.
Even in this cramped space, Dirk had the skill to subdue six guards.
Seeing their hired guards so easily taken out.
Secretary Ford muttered angrily, "This is outrageous."
After commenting, he pulled out his phone.
Not sure what he said over the phone, but after ending the call, he said, "If you had left peacefully, this would be over. Now that you want this to become a bigger issue, don't blame me for being drastic."
Clearly.
He'd called for "reinforcements".
In this situation.
Dirk wasn't intimidated at all.
He only worried about implicating Yale.
He was about to suggest Yale leave first.
Yale suddenly asked, "What do you do?"
He directed the question at Secretary Ford.
Next to him, Callum Hamilton boasted, "Are you ready to be frightened? This here is Brennan Ford, a member of the Ronan City Government Party Committee, City Government Secretary."
Indeed a big shot.
Hearing this distinguished identity caused Dirk some surprise.
Seeing Dirk's slight change in expression.
Callum Hamilton felt all the more smug.
He said, "Ignorant fool, let's settle old and new scores together later."
Yale nodded slightly.
He asked Dirk, "Do you have a phone? Can I borrow it?"
Borrow a phone?
Could Yale be calling for "reinforcements" too?
Even though Dirk had little hope, he still handed him the phone.
Yale dialed a number, and when it connected, he said, "Come to The Prosperity Residence, someone's giving me trouble."
He said just that one line.
Then returned the phone to Dirk.
Before Dirk could ask who he called, Callum Hamilton scoffed, "Oh, you didn't call some square dancing seniors, did you? Be careful they don't get heatstroke rushing over in this heat."
This matter started because of himself.
Dirk didn't want Yale caught up in it, so he said, "Old man, it's okay, it's got nothing to do with you, let them give me the trouble if they want."
Yale smiled kindly.
Gently patting Dirk's hand, he urged him to sit down, saying, "Alright, it's fine, just sit at ease…"
