"Does it look good?"
Suddenly, Elsie Eames' face was right in front of Dirk Carter.
It gave Dirk a fright.
"Ahem... uh... well... Miss Eames, I... I didn't mean to."
It was pretty embarrassing for Dirk to be caught; he couldn't help coughing.
"I'm asking you if it looks good."
As Elsie said this, her face got closer and closer, their noses almost touching.
At this moment, she was leaning forward.
Dirk's T-shirt had a loose neckline.
With such close proximity.
Dirk's gaze naturally penetrated the neckline, two wobbly rabbits almost leaping into view.
"It looks good."
Dirk nodded and said.
Upon hearing this, Elsie smiled, seemingly quite proud.
She asked, "Do you want to see it more clearly?"
"Cough cough cough..."
This question startled Dirk again.
Their eyes met, breath mingled.
Feeling the rising tension, unstoppable; if they continued, no one could control what would happen next.
Just at this moment.
The phone rang.
Dirk quickly stood up, picked up the phone and saw it was a call from Aziel Grant.
"Aziel, what's up?"
Dirk asked.
"Dirk, where are you?"
"I'm at home."
"Do you have some time? Come over to Keystone Machinery Plant, Jocelyn Tate is in trouble."
Upon hearing this.
Dirk didn't hesitate to say, "I'll change and come over right now; I'll call you later."
Then.
He hung up the phone and looked at Elsie Eames with some difficulty.
Elsie said, "Go handle your business, I didn't get enough sleep last night on the night shift. I'll nap on your sofa. When my clothes are dry, I'll leave. No hard feelings, right?"
"Of course, no problem, it's just..."
Elsie saw the apology in his eyes.
She said, "It's fine, go take care of what you need to."
No time for pretenses.
Dirk went back to the bedroom to call Arlo Yarbrough to pick him up, then quickly changed clothes and rushed out the door.
When he got downstairs, it only took a few minutes for Arlo Yarbrough's car to arrive.
On the way to Keystone Machinery Plant, Dirk called Aziel Grant to ask for more details.
After returning to the country, Jocelyn Tate was placed at Keystone Machinery Plant by Valerie Fisher. Her title was Group Representative.
This position didn't really exist; the arrangement was made to prevent Jocelyn from gaining any real power.
For the past few days, Jocelyn hadn't even been inside the plant; today was her first time.
No one expected that as a Group Representative, she would be blocked by the branch's security guard.
An argument ensued.
When Aziel called Dirk, Jocelyn was still stuck at the gate and couldn't get in at all.
When the car got about twenty meters from Keystone Machinery Plant, Dirk instructed Arlo to stop early, and they walked to the entrance, where they saw a business vehicle blocked at the gate.
Next to the vehicle stood a tall woman arguing with a security guard.
At that moment.
Aziel Grant slipped out from a corner.
Pointing at the tall woman, he said to Dirk, "That's Jocelyn Tate."
In front of them, Jocelyn Tate appeared to be about 5'6", neither too tall nor too short.
She wore a fitted leather jacket, showing her slender waist, perfectly described as just an inch to grasp.
She wore tight-fitting jeans below, hugging her shapely hips, with straight and firm thighs.
Just the view from behind was quite enticing.
Who would've thought, Dylan Tate, a rough guy, could have such a graceful daughter, something truly surprising.
"Should we go over?"
Asked Aziel Grant.
Dirk waved his hand and sat down at a fruit stand across the street, saying, "Go buy some fruit, and let's wait to see what happens."
In no time.
A pound of mandarins was brought over.
The three of them ate heartily, indistinguishable from passersby watching the excitement.
"Look closely; this is the group-issued appointment letter. I'm the Group Representative, here on orders for an inspection."
Jocelyn argued in vain.
She pulled out a group letterhead document from the car and slapped it onto the security guard in front of her.
The security guard was a young man.
He had a scar at the corner of his eyebrow, clearly not easy to deal with.
He glanced at the document.
And with a tearing sound, he ripped it in two, grinning, "Sorry, I can't read."
"You... you actually tore up the group document? You've got... got some nerve."
At this point, Jocelyn was so furious that smoke was almost coming out of her nostrils; she pointed at the security guard, yelling.
But the security guard calmly said, "Miss, I've told you many times, the leadership instructed that only those authorized by him and vehicles can enter."
"Get your leader out here!"
Jocelyn shouted.
The security guard sneered, "Who are you to summon the leader like that?"
After much arguing.
Jocelyn was out of options.
All she could do was pace in place, unable to come up with another solution.
Of course, she had another option, which was to call the group, to call her grandfather.
But if she took that route, her aunt would probably attack her, saying she was incompetent. If she couldn't even enter her own factory, how could she have the ability to take over the group?
Dirk tossed an orange peel away.
He said, "Let's go, it's our turn."
Dirk at the front.
Aziel Grant and Arlo Yarbrough behind him.
The three walked toward the gate.
When they were close enough to Jocelyn.
Dirk purposely jogged a few steps ahead to reach Jocelyn.
Only then did Dirk see Jocelyn's face.
At first glance, Dirk's eyes went wide.
A verse popped into his mind: "A beauty surpassing the ages, a face to shame the lotus."
He mentally exclaimed "Oh my" three times.
Before meeting her, Dirk had imagined her looks, comparing to the template of Dylan Tate's features; meeting her, he realized Jocelyn had combined all the best traits of Dylan Tate and Darlene Fisher. Her face, if not devastatingly beautiful, was comparable only to Dorothy Zechariah among women he knew.
Her face like peach blossoms, skin like jade.
Perhaps because she was anxious, her face had a rosy tinge, adding an extra layer of shyness and allure.
"You... who are you?"
Jocelyn instinctively stepped back, asking warily.
Dirk, with a calm demeanor, said softly, "Caden Dixon sent me."
"Uncle Caden sent you?"
Hearing this, the tension on Jocelyn's face instantly eased.
Before her return, Darlene Fisher had told her that if she encountered any difficulties, she could find Caden Dixon, who would surely help her.
However, she was strong-willed.
Always wanting to solve problems on her own.
Unexpectedly, she couldn't even pass the first hurdle.
"Miss Tate, please sit back in the car, and let us handle it from here, okay?"
"You guys will handle it?"
Jocelyn asked with surprise.
Dirk smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, Miss Tate, you're the Group Representative. It's beneath you to argue with a security guard. Starting now, I'm your assistant. I'll handle this for you. No need to worry, soon the plant's leadership will personally come to find you."
Jocelyn was half-convinced by Dirk's words.
But there wasn't a better solution at hand.
She could only nod and give it a try.
Jocelyn returned to the business car.
Dirk, together with Aziel Grant and Arlo Yarbrough, approached the security guard again.
The same young security guard.
He had obviously seen Dirk and the others speaking with Jocelyn.
Seeing them walk over.
He raised an eyebrow and said, "I've made it clear, without special authorization from the leadership, no unauthorized people can enter."
Dirk remained silent.
He crouched down.
Picked up the torn-in-half group letterhead document.
He asked, "You can't read?"
