A Bumpy Road to Power

Chapter 413: Forcing the Palace

In the director's office.

Jocelyn Tate sat on the sofa with a look of frustration.

Opposite her sat two people.

A man and a woman.

The woman was Valerie Fisher, around fifty, with an air of elegance, suggesting she had been quite beautiful in her youth.

The man, no need to mention, was Valerie's husband, Dwight Young.

"Xiao Xiao, it's not that your aunt is blaming you, but for such a big matter, how could you not handle it well? Keystone Works has never had such a big mistake. Losing money is a small matter, but the impact on the group's reputation is a big issue. What are you going to do about this mess?"

Valerie Fisher's face was full of regret.

But it was clear she felt a hidden sense of satisfaction.

Dwight Young was also visibly angry, saying, "You're just like your mom, too impulsive in doing things. Director Bates is such an experienced person, and you just replaced him so casually. Now look, you've caused a huge problem, haven't you?"

"Uncle, this matter was done by me, it has nothing to do with my mom."

Jocelyn Tate retorted with a defiant look.

Dwight Young was a bit angered immediately, saying, "You kid, how dare you talk back? If you're so capable, then settle this matter for me and let's see!"

"I said it wasn't my fault. I didn't get the dimensions wrong, someone swapped the contract."

Jocelyn Tate shouted, pulling her voice.

"You say the contract was swapped, huh? Where's the evidence? Show me the evidence. Moreover, did the Dovo Group's contract get swapped too? Isn't theirs the same as yours? Do you think this excuse will work?"

Dwight Young yelled.

Tears of grievance welled up in Jocelyn Tate's eyes.

She said, "I'm not making excuses, I truly think the contract was swapped."

"Alright, alright, the matter has already occurred, arguing about contracts won't solve it. Now there are only two choices: first, you fix what you did; or if you're unable, the group will have to intervene. But as the head of Keystone Machinery Plant, you'd have to resign due to your mistake. Xiao Xiao, you decide, how are you planning to proceed?"

Valerie Fisher interrupted their quarrel.

With that.

Jocelyn Tate fell into a dilemma.

If she chose to take responsibility, she didn't have the capability.

Letting the group resolve it meant she couldn't inherit a share in the property.

It didn't matter to her.

Except this portion of the property originally belonged to her mother, Darlene Fisher.

She had bravely volunteered to take over back then, but now, it's as if her mother's face was being rubbed in the dirt.

Seeing Jocelyn Tate remain silent.

Valerie Fisher urged, "Xiao Xiao, the people outside have been waiting for hours, delaying won't solve this problem, make a decision quickly."

Now that the matter had reached this point.

There was no other choice.

A trace of helplessness flashed through Jocelyn Tate's heart.

She slowly stood up.

Preparing in her heart to give up.

Just then, the office door burst open.

Dirk Carter walked in with Aziel Grant.

Seeing Dirk Carter.

Jocelyn Tate was surprised.

Before she could speak.

Dwight Young, displeased, said, "Who are you? Who let you in? Get out now."

Dirk Carter nodded, bowing slightly as he said, "Hello, bosses. I'm Dirk Carter, Jocelyn Tate's assistant."

Upon hearing this.

Jocelyn Tate was about to refute, but Dirk Carter hastily said, "Ms. Tate, um... Deep Blue Machinery has agreed to take all of these parts, in a few minutes, the funds will be transferred."

"Deep Blue Machinery?"

Jocelyn Tate asked in surprise.

Dirk Carter looked at the equally astonished Valerie Fisher and Dwight Young before walking over to Jocelyn Tate, saying, "Yes, Deep Blue Machinery. Did you forget? We produced this batch of parts for Deep Blue legally. Their technicians already approved our work, and the trucks will arrive shortly. Here's the contract."

Jocelyn Tate was bewildered by Dirk Carter's words.

She grabbed the contract from Dirk Carter and glanced at it.

Turning to the page with the parameter standards, she was shocked to find that the parts Deep Blue Machinery wanted were exactly the same as those she had produced before.

"Deep Blue Machinery's order? What does this mean?"

Dwight Young asked.

Dirk Carter quickly turned towards him and said, "Mr. Young, after receiving the Dovo Group's order, our Ms. Tate didn't rush to produce it but completed the previously discussed Deep Blue Machinery order first."

"What nonsense is this? When did we have a cooperation with Deep Blue? How come I don't know?"

Dwight Young, appearing distrustful, snatched the file from their hands.

Seeing Deep Blue Machinery's official seal.

He was stunned.

Handing it to Valerie Fisher beside him.

Valerie Fisher glanced at it, equally surprised.

"Is this contract fake?" she asked.

Dirk Carter chuckled, "Ms. Fisher, Deep Blue Machinery is bigger than our Gable Group; how could we dare to forge such a thing? Besides, their Ardmore City branch representative is downstairs if you don't believe it, you can go and see for yourself."

Both were dumbfounded.

If there truly was cooperation with Deep Blue.

Then these so-called unqualified parts would be taken care of, right?

"Let's go down and take a look."

Valerie Fisher, still somewhat in disbelief, rushed out with Dwight Young.

Once they left.

Jocelyn Tate asked with a frown, "What's really happening here?"

Dirk Carter smiled slightly and said, "We can talk about the rest later; for now, let's get through this crisis."

He finished speaking.

And turned to exit the room.

The more Jocelyn Tate thought about it, the more something seemed off, so she followed them out.

At the entrance of the administrative building.

The workers causing trouble suddenly had a stir.

Because they saw Jocelyn Tate and the group appear.

"Where's the person? Where are they?"

Valerie Fisher asked.

At that time, two people in suits stepped out of the crowd.

The middle-aged man in front, Valerie Fisher and Dwight Young both recognized as Blake Carter, the general manager of Deep Blue Machinery's Ardmore City office.

"Hello, Ms. Fisher, hello Mr. Young,"

Blake Carter proactively greeted them, smiling broadly.

"Mr. Carter, what's going on?"

Darlene Fisher asked.

Blake Carter replied, "What do you mean? Deep Blue ordered a batch of parts from Ms. Tate, our technicians checked, and these parts meet high industry standards, we are very satisfied, the finance team is already processing the payment, it should be through soon."

The workers below also heard this.

Each one became excited.

"The payment is being processed, our wages are secured."

"I've always said Keystone never defaults on our salaries."

"Exactly, it's all because of your incitement I didn't want to cause any trouble here…"

"..."

Below, the noise rose again.

It was obvious that this disruption had someone instigating it behind the scenes.

Seeing the change in mood.

Darlene Fisher turned her head towards Jocelyn Tate.

Coldly snorted and said, "Xiao Xiao, what kind of tricks are you pulling? You produce parts for Deep Blue, but what about the Dovo Group? Today is the delivery date, how did you conjure up a batch of parts? Eventually, won't we still have to pay a thirty million breach penalty? What can this six million do?"

With this said.

The noise below intensified once again.
