Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 106: The Senior's Secondhand Bicycle

Amy looked at Victor:

"Someone like you, Victor, with the inheritance of a Great Wizard Clan, doesn't have much to worry about. Even if you don't have purchasing privileges within the academy, you can always obtain more advanced Witchcraft from your family. But for someone like me, whose family inheritance doesn't span one generation and without a deep background, it's troublesome."

Victor nodded, indicating his understanding.

His family indeed had its own channels to make up for the lack of academy privileges.

"However, thankfully, there's a way out." Amy's eyes gleamed with light, "Wizards, after completing the contracted years of military service, before reaching the Fourth Level Wizard, can choose whether to continue freely participating in Plane Wars. And every time a Plane is conquered, or after a certain front reaches a hiatus, a batch of wizards will return to get some rest."

Jeming nodded; he was also aware of this.

"And each Nolun Academy, as the most core hub of knowledge and power, many resting wizards will choose to return to the academy, rent laboratories, get some rest and recuperate, summarize their experiences, and research new witchcraft."

"During this period, some of the more 'impoverished' or those urgently needing funds, will occasionally sell off equipment they no longer use." Amy flashed a sly smile.

"Witchcraft artifacts, as long as they are well-maintained, can be used normally even after several hundred years, at most the witchcraft model engraved on it is a bit outdated."

"Got it, in simple terms, it's a bit like university seniors selling their unused bicycles and second-hand books to juniors." Jeming suddenly realized internally.

He really had never dealt with such a "second-hand market," after all, he was quite "wealthy," always pursuing the most advanced, perfect Talisman Witchcraft, never needing to consider such "make the most of everything" methods.

But, how to put it?

Although it's quite sensible economically, after hearing Amy's explanation, Jeming couldn't shake off the illusion when looking at this Fifth Level Witchcraft.

In his eyes, this thing had transformed from a "Magical Treasure refined by a Void Refinement Realm expert" to "a hand-me-down bike left behind by seniors."

"Ah, this really is outside my knowledge scope, I always bought directly from the academy's warehouse, never knew there were such organizations within the academy." Jeming awkwardly scratched his head.

Victor couldn't help but complain: "It's you who are beyond our knowledge scope, buying brand new high-tier witchcraft outright... Truly a rich guy, you can't possibly understand the hardships of ordinary folks like us!"

"Exactly! People like you, even advancing to a First Level Wizard seems like a game, how could you understand our struggles!" Amy chimed in, half-jokingly complaining.

Jeming smiled nonchalantly, not arguing.

He indeed lived too "affluently," overlooking these survival tactics of the lower-level wizards.

"I know this senior through my parents." Amy continued, "She also returned from the Elorcia Plane. Of course, the reason we could maintain contact is not just because I bought her witchcraft artifacts, but also often helped her connect with other apprentices in need, bringing her quite a number of 'clients'."

"So, we're familiar enough, negotiating with her should be no problem."

Jeming smacked his lips, unable to help but feel some admiration.

Amy confidently closed her communicator: "Alright, I just contacted her, next we can go and meet her. See if she can provide us with some useful information or introduce a few wizard squads looking for collaborators."

Looking at Amy's confident smile, Jeming gained a deeper understanding of her interpersonal skills.

Amy, though speaking lightly, undoubtedly managed this collaboration with the senior thanks to her formidable social skills.

...

...

Jeming and Victor followed Amy, passing through the camp's simple yet fully functional buildings.

Finally, they arrived at a semi-permanent rune structure tucked away in the camp's secluded corner.

Outwardly, the place seemed ordinary, but the fluctuating magic power around it was much richer and more stable than elsewhere, clearly equipped with a high-tier Element Gathering Array.

Amy gently knocked on the door, and the Rune Gate opened silently.

Inside, the light was dim, and the air was filled with a faint, unique scent of mixed Magic Potion and ink.

A woman dressed in a deep blue Wizard Robe had her back to them, adjusting a complex Rune Matrix.

She stood elegantly, her long silver hair cascaded like a waterfall down to her waist, shimmering softly in the dim light like moonlight.

Hearing movement, she slowly turned around.

It was a delicate and mature face, with some fatigue at the corners of the eyes, yet it did not diminish her charm in the slightest.

She possessed deep silver-grey eyes, like the night sky.

This was the senior from the academy that Amy mentioned, Viola.

"Amy? What a rare guest, didn't expect us to meet here." The silver-haired witch had a playful tone, her eyes sweeping over Jeming and Victor with a hint of scrutiny.

"And you've brought two youngsters. Shouldn't you be out there struggling to survive? What is it, already wanting to head back so soon?"

"Long time no see, Senior Viola!" Amy smiled sweetly, taking a step forward, "We're not that fragile. Like I said earlier, we're here to consult some matters, and maybe... seek some collaboration opportunities."

Viola raised her eyebrows slightly, indifferent to Amy's words.

She signaled them to sit down, while she leisurely took her seat in a comfortable chair, lightly tapping the table with her long fingers:

"We've already discussed this clearly in the communication, but..."

"Collaboration? Interesting." Viola smirked, but her smile bore a hint of "pity," "You know, in wizard transactions, we always value equivalent exchange. So... what could you offer?"

With her question, Amy and Victor fell into silence.

They had been too excited earlier, overlooking this issue.

Although they had advanced to First Level Official Wizards, they hadn't yet had time to accumulate wealth, thus couldn't present anything tempting to the wizard senior before them.

"Amy, considering our previous acquaintance, I can offer you two free pieces of appropriate intelligence." Viola looked at Amy seriously, "But that's all, if you want me to continue providing more intelligence, you need to at least offer something of equal value in exchange."

"So... what can you offer that might move me?"

"Perhaps... I have something?"
