Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 134: Identity and Purpose (Part 2)

Jeming raised his hand to his mouth and coughed dryly to cover his embarrassment, then said with a hint of sentiment:

"It seems like our goals are the same, truly great minds think alike."

"No, no, no... you're overestimating me."

"Who would think alike with a lunatic like you?"

"I'm not as crazy as you..."

"Hey! Don't slander me! I'm not that crazy!"

To Jeming's surprise, his words made the others react like they had been pricked, even stepping back two steps away from him as if stung by a needle.

"?"

Jeming tilted his head: "What do you mean by that?"

Kaelen, who seemed like a nice guy, pursed his lips and said, "You know we're just First Level Wizards, right?"

"Yeah."

"Then don't you think it's a bit crazy for a First Level Wizard to plot against hundreds of creatures, the weakest being Fourth Level and the strongest Seventh Level?"

"Huh?" Jeming felt his brain couldn't keep up, "Not to mention, aren't you guys plotting against the Divine Spirit too? Why wouldn't we dare to plot? Are you still proper wizards?!"

"It's because we're proper wizards, that's why we wouldn't do such a thing!" Seraphina couldn't help but comment, "As wizards, isn't the most important thing to rationally weigh the costs and rewards of something? We're not like those brainless brutes from the Combat Element..."

Kaelen looked somewhat helpless:

"Though we're all plotting against the Divine Spirit, the nature is different. Our initial plan was at most to secretly poison them, while judging by the arrays you set up, you intend to feed them excrement right in their faces!"

"Uh..." Jeming was at a loss for words.

Remembering the arrays he'd discovered, his expression turned peculiar.

It seemed... he indeed misunderstood.

Since being thrown into the Elorcia Plane, Jeming had been plagued by the question: how could they as wizard apprentices have a substantial, even decisive impact on a plane as vast as this Middle Plane Community?

He knew very well that even if they advanced to First Level Official Wizards within the plane, their combat strength would be at most equivalent to legendary figures of this world.

It sounded strong enough to crush anything in the mortal world.

But let's not forget, besides mortals, the Elorcia Plane had tens of thousands of angels and hundreds of Divine Spirits behind them.

Even one angel equivalent to Third Level Creatures could push him to a dead end.

If a Divine Spirit were to lead angels to descend in person, all these wizard apprentices combined would be nothing but puppies to the angels under the Divine Spirits.

Solely relying on destruction and combat, the contribution they could earn was almost negligible.

Therefore, Jeming realized from the beginning that he couldn't think about this plane war through traditional combat strategies.

He needed to find a clever breakthrough point, a key that could leverage the entire plane core from a small start.

After extensively researching the Divine Power Faith Network of the Elorcia Plane, as well as the complex relations regarding divine spirits and faith in this world, a bold idea began to form in Jeming's mind: he could definitely find a way to corrupt faith and indirectly affect the Divine Spirits!

The Divine Spirits of the Elorcia Plane, except for the one native Divine Spirit—the God of Gods—all other Divine Spirits were not native, but Gods of Faith.

This meant their strength foundation entirely stemmed from the Power of Faith from mortals, thus significantly influenced by the purity of Power of Faith.

Even that sole native Divine Spirit, the God of Gods, had passively absorbed quite some mortal faith due to deliberate indulgence and inaction of Divine Spirits over the years.

This had enhanced the strength of this Divine Spirit, but also made it not entirely supreme.

What Jeming wanted to do was simple, playing tricks on the Power of Faith to influence the entire divine system of the Elorcia Plane.

The higher level the Divine Spirit, the more faith collected, and hence the greater pollution impact.

Of course, he also clearly understood that, even if exhausting every effort, the impact he could cause upon the Divine Spirits was actually quite minute, potentially even just for a moment.

But he didn't need to create a major impact; what he needed was merely to divert the opponent's attention.

Even if it's just distraction for an instant, it would be enough!

Because outside the Elorcia Plane Group, there were High Tier Wizards from more than half of the Nolun Workshop waiting!

With their prowess, they could send any Tier Seven Wizard to sweep across the plane community, crushing mortals, angels, and even Gods of Faith into fragments.

The reason for not taking action was only to prevent the Divine Spirits of the Elorcia Plane from getting desperate, triggering the Plane Origin, and dragging the plane to extinction together.

Professor Clark had once told Jeming that in such a stalemate situation, there were three common methods for wizards to seize a plane's Origin: finding a higher-tier wizard to handle it, weakening the plane's Origin force, or having a wizard advance to Sixth Level right in the plane.

These three methods essentially aimed to ensure creatures beyond Sixth Level in the plane couldn't immediately trigger the Origin force to smash the plane.

And what Jeming intended to do was also based on this principle.

As long as the tainted Power of Faith could hold the Divine Spirits' attention, even if only for a brief moment, it would be sufficient!

The High Tier Wizards surrounding could seize this opportunity to suppress and capture the Divine Spirits of the Elorcia Plane.

Even without any prior communication with the outside world, Jeming trusted that with the wisdom of the High-level Wizards outside and their understanding of plane wars, they wouldn't miss this chance.

Especially after he conducted preliminary research on the Divine Power Faith Network of the Elorcia Plane, he deeply understood a wizard's desire for "Divine Spirits" as high-level experimental subjects.

This desire was intense enough for them to grasp any fleeting opportunity.

Prior to this, Jeming had always thought the other four present shared the same idea as him, that they were all striving for this common goal in their own ways.

But now, he found it was apparently not the case.

"At first, we just intended to incite negative emotions in the mortal races of this plane, making the Power of Faith they offered become mixed."

On the way to the array nodes, the other four explained to Jeming.

Reks, who previously played a female dwarf, couldn't help but sigh: "Like me, I've now stirred up most of the dwarves' emotions related to 'laziness.'"

Beside him, Seraphina and Kaelen nodded as well; they had similarly stirred up a large amount of negative emotions from their disguised races.

"So those three arrays..." Jeming's mouth twitched.

"Are simply energy diffusion arrays with the goal of spreading the energy from their props throughout the entire Human Kingdom, thereby inciting human negative emotions," Anya sighed.

"It's a pity for them, taking great pains to negotiate delays to have enough time to set up the arrays. I was planning to hitch a ride with their windfall since I was a bit late in action, but didn't expect you to directly alter the nature of the entire array."

"So now we're kind of on your pirate ship, and if we don't want our previous efforts to go to waste, we can only follow through with you."

Currently, there were four primary methods for the novice wizards to gain Contribution Points in the Elorcia Plane.

The first was simply killing and destruction, but due to novice wizards' capabilities, the contributions earned this way were limited, and bad luck might even get them counter-killed.

The second was considering the overall situation and strategizing ways for various races in the Elorcia Plane to provide more troops for the Wizard Camp to kill.

The third mirrored the initial intentions of Anya and Kaelen as geniuses; influencing the mortal world to consequently affect the state of the Divine Spirits.

Though the effect was minor, considering the Divinity's own significance, the Contribution Points were indeed substantial.

As for the fourth, it was akin to Jeming's, though with the primary aim of influencing the Divine Spirits, the means were far more extreme and intense.

"Ah, well..."

Now Jeming realized that among the proper wizard apprentices, few would be like him—spending extensive time studying knowledge about the Divine Power Faith Network during critical Contribution Earning Points.

Having calculated the energy diffusion effects of those three arrays, he subconsciously assumed others had similar ideas to his, only to realize it was a misunderstanding.

Initially, he even thought that the skill of the others with arrays was poor, kindly helping to enhance and modify a "bit" of the Runes for them.
