Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 43: Shock

The wizard apprentices of the combat element formed a temporary defensive formation, continually casting various witchcrafts to restrain the Fire Elements, attempting to suppress the magical beast.

However, due to insufficient numbers, their firepower suppression was significantly weakened.

The Fire Elemental Magical Beast's Flame Breath and widespread magma impact repeatedly tore open gaps in their defenses.

"Their defensive system is too fragile, there are too few of them, they simply cannot form adequate group protection."

Jeming watched as an apprentice's Energy Shield shattered instantly under a magma impact from the beast, the apprentice was directly sent flying, heavily smashed against the rock wall behind, leaving behind a concave charred human shape.

"The Energy is too scattered, lacking tenacity... and the shields are too singular, unable to adapt to various attack types," he thought, "Moreover, the defense of the shield is too low, could it possibly be witchcraft of a Second Level Apprentice?"

Suddenly, the beast released magma laden with Earth Elemental Power, instantly killing one person, the apprentices noticeably began to panic.

The Witchcraft Artifacts and potions they carried were being quickly consumed, the spells and casting gestures filled with evident anxiety and chaos, causing a drastic drop in offense and defense efficiency.

Finally, after a thunderous roar from the beast, a massive wave of flame spread out.

The apprentices' defense line completely collapsed, several were engulfed by flames, letting out ear-piercing screams.

The remaining ones dragged their injured companions, faces filled with despair, retreating in the direction away from the beast.

"They collapsed so quickly..." Jeming couldn't help but shake his head internally.

He originally thought these people could at least hold out a little longer, maybe even take down this beast if they had a competent leader.

But now it seemed, he had overestimated the ordinary wizard apprentices of the combat element.

Jeming also realized that those he usually encountered in the logistics element who could take Alchemy as an elective were generally those with talent or ability, hence they could afford the elective's ongoing expenses.

True ordinary wizard apprentices were like these guys ahead, barely advancing to Third Level Apprentice, they hadn't really mastered any Third Level Apprentice witchcraft or equipment.

Jeming didn't reveal himself immediately, but waited until the figures of the fleeing apprentices completely disappeared from view before stepping out from behind the Crystal Ore.

He walked towards the shores of Magma Lake, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

This Fire Elemental Magical Beast was likely the first he'd encountered that didn't present in a life-form state, but was purely composed of elements.

"A pure Energy Body construct... even though the basic particles of this world are similar to those of my previous life, it can still produce such a creature. Could this be the legendary Energy Life?" Jeming's eyes were ablaze with interest.

In any case, he was very interested in this creature!

The Fire Elemental Magical Beast sensed Jeming's aura, stopping its pursuit of the enemies, its massive body turning towards him, roaring as it charged.

Jeming didn't hold back, directly activating his Attack-type Talisman Witchcraft, the circular pendant spinning in front of him, emitting a low hum.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Four fireballs were released almost simultaneously, like four miniature cannonballs, with terrifying momentum, accurately striking the chest of the Fire Elemental Magical Beast!

Before the echoes of the explosion faded, another four fireballs were fired.

The raging Fire Elements were compressed and detonated under the Talisman Witchcraft's guidance, each fireball's power far exceeding a typical wizard's by multiple times!

Even though it was a Fire Elemental Magical Beast, its massive body trembled violently under Jeming's consecutive fireball bombardment.

"Roar!!!"

The beast let out an angry roar, attempting to release a Flame Breath in counterattack.

Yet Jeming gave it no chance, rapidly moving, conducting a saturation strike around the beast.

Fireballs, fireballs, and more fireballs!

Continuous explosions sounded incessantly, the area, already not cold, appeared to continue heating under the relentless blaze.

This Fire Elemental Magical Beast, close to a First Level Official Wizard's power, couldn't organize any effective counterattack under Jeming's sustained high-frequency assault.

Its body started to crumble and disintegrate under the terrifying blows, magma splashing everywhere.

In less than two minutes, this once-invincible Elemental Magical Beast howled as it transformed into a scattering of elemental particles, eventually dissipating into the air.

Jeming exhaled, putting away the now somewhat hot Talisman Witchcraft.

Activating his shield, he walked to the center of the Magma Lake, picking up the High-Scoring Card shining with light, and also gathered some Essence Fragments left behind by the dispersing Fire Elemental Magical Beast, satisfied, he left the area ravaged by fire and elemental storms.

Meanwhile, several kilometers away, atop a twisted, withered tree.

An apprentice was lying there, pupils contracted, cold sweat streaming down his forehead.

In his hand, he tightly gripped a concealed Reconnaissance-type Witchcraft Artifact, energy fluctuations only noticeable from a Tier Two Wizard Apprentice's Witchcraft, barely reflecting the distant scene before his eyes.

Not until Jeming's figure disappeared from the witchcraft's surveillance range did his initially tense mind gradually relax, breathing heavily, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Only then did he suddenly realize he didn't know when he had started holding his breath.

He had arrived a bit earlier, witnessing Jeming reach the battlefield, then the apprentices' rout and escape.

He initially thought Jeming would choose to hide, like himself, or simply leave.

But what did he see?!

That guy actually faced that flame beast alone, which even a whole team couldn't withstand?!

What shocked him even more was the combat.

No, perhaps it shouldn't even be called combat, but "slaughter."

That apprentice... no casting preamble, no complex spells, he just unleashed a relentless barrage of fireballs at the beast!

The fireballs were relentless, frighteningly fast, and terrifyingly powerful to make one's heart tremble.

"How... is this possible?" The apprentice's hands trembled, nearly unable to hold the reconnaissance witchcraft stable.

That tiny figure, alone, faced that terrifying beast capable of crushing their entire team.

In just two minutes!

That enormous and horrifying Fire Elemental Magical Beast was annihilated just like that!

"Who... who is he really?" The apprentice lay low on the withered tree, fearing to make any sound that might attract the attention of that "monster."

He had gathered much information about those "geniuses," but had no information about this apprentice at all.

After lying on the dead branches for a long time, to confirm that the other had indeed not noticed him, the apprentice gradually climbed down the tree.

As soon as he touched the ground, he cast several augmentation spells on himself, running in the opposite direction of Jeming's departure without looking back.

No way!

He never wanted to meet such a monster; otherwise, he wouldn't even know how he'd die!
