Chapter 459: Chapter 459: Investigation Begin.
After receiving the golden imperial token, the group lingered briefly near the entrance of the Emperor’s chambers before walking away from the guards.
As they moved through the ornate corridors of the inner palace, Lan Suyao spoke in a low but firm voice.
"Li Feng, listen carefully. Now that we have full access, do not get distracted by your usual nonsense. We will let you have your fun as much as you want after we finish our business here."
Yue Lan, walking gracefully beside them, let out a soft smile when she heard this.
Of course she understood exactly what Lan Suyao meant by "we."
But as Li Feng’s Dao companion, she didn’t mind it much when her man simply wanted to enjoy mortal flesh and pleasures.
Li Feng gave Lan Suyao a strange look.
She seemed to understand him a little too well these days.
Lan Suyao continued, patting Yue Lan’s shoulder lightly.
"Yue Lan and I will check the inner palace courtyards and question the servants. We will seriously investigate the missing herbs and any traces of the traitor... while you go and ’retrieve’ your Senior Sister Fen. But make sure you do it discreetly as we don’t want to suddenly become criminals in the Fen Dynasty."
She then tossed Li Feng a communication talisman, which he caught smoothly.
"We’ll keep in contact through talisman transmission. Be careful, Li Feng."
Yue Lan nodded softly, giving him a warm, encouraging smile. "We trust you to bring Sister Fen back... Good luck."
Li Feng sighed softly.
A rare flash of genuine warmth appeared in his eyes as he looked at the two understanding women beside him.
’Having such sensible and supportive women really is a blessing... I must treat them extra well after this.’
After storing the talisman away, Li Feng cupped his fists with a perfectly humble expression.
"This junior thanks Senior Sister Lan and Envoy Yue Lan for the trust. I will handle my task with the utmost care and discretion."
Lan Suyao rolled her eyes at the guy who was still pretending to be a humble junior even now.
"Enough with the act. Just don’t get caught. Now go."

The three reached a splitting path in the grand corridor.
With one final exchange of meaningful glances, they finally parted ways.
Li Feng turned toward the royal medicine garden, the golden imperial token ensuring smooth passage.
His steps were light and filled with anticipation as his powerful spiritual sense quietly spread outward, already scanning for any trace of his arrogant and fiery princess senior sister.
’Hmph. Once we’re back, I need to discipline her properly for ignoring my orders.’
Lewd images of the "punishment" he had in mind flashed through his head.
...Yet deep down, he wasn’t truly angry.
He understood all too well the kind of things one would do for family ties.
As if remembering something, Li Feng sighed and shook his head, pushing those thoughts aside for now.
But then he paused mid-step.
"Where exactly are the princess’s quarters...?"
The imperial palace was ridiculously vast... a sprawling complex of towering pavilions, layered courtyards, and endless winding corridors seemingly designed to confuse outsiders.
Even with his powerful senses, locating one specific person in such a massive place without prior knowledge would take time.
Li Feng rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
Just as he considered questioning a nearby guard or expanding his search, his eyes caught sight of a young, chubby eunuch waddling along a nearby stone path.
The eunuch was carrying a large basket overflowing with luxurious silk clothes and embroidered fabrics, likely laundry for the imperial family.
’Perfect. A palace servant like him should know the layout well.’
Li Feng adjusted his humble expression and approached with light, unhurried steps, the imperial token subtly visible in his hand.
"Esteemed servant," Li Feng called out politely, cupping his fists. "This one is Envoy Li Feng from the Azure Moon Sect, here on the Regent Empress’s orders to investigate His Majesty’s condition. May I trouble you for a moment? What is your name?"
The chubby eunuch jumped in surprise, nearly dropping the heavy basket.
Upon seeing the golden imperial token, his face paled and he bowed deeply, almost bending in half.
"T-This servant greets the honored Envoy! Everyone here calls me Eunuch Peng! Please ask anything. This servant will answer with utmost honesty!"
Li Feng smiled gently.
"Don’t worry Eunuch Peng, I won’t take much of your time. Could you tell me where the princess’s quarters are located?"
Eunuch Peng’s small eyes blinked.
He couldn’t help giving Li Feng a strange, knowing smile.
Seeing that look, Li Feng coughed lightly and hurriedly explained.
"Ahem... It is related to His Majesty’s condition. I suspect there might be clues if I check various locations, so I wanted to start with the princess’s quarters. The Regent Empress herself authorized us to investigate freely, so I hope Eunuch Peng can assist."
Eunuch Peng’s strange smile didn’t fade.... if anything, it grew more knowing but he quickly lowered his head.
"Of course, of course! This servant understands perfectly. But which princess’s quarters does the honored envoy wish to visit?"
Li Feng thought for a moment and decided to be direct.
"Hmm... How about the Imperial Princess Fen Ziyan first? I heard a lot about her since we are from the same sect."
At the mention of Fen Ziyan’s name, Eunuch Peng blinked several times and tilted his round head, clearly wondering if he had completely misunderstood the young envoy’s intentions earlier.
After a short pause, the fat eunuch let out a visible sigh of relief.
His strange smile instantly turned into a bright, cheerful one as he straightened up a little.
"Ah! So it’s Princess Fen Ziyan! This servant understands now. Please forgive this old servant for overthinking."
Li Feng was a bit confused by the eunuch’s tone but listened quietly as Eunuch Peng continued cheerfully, gesturing with one plump hand.
"The Phoenix Perch Pavilion where Her Highness the Imperial Princess resides is located in the eastern section of the inner palace. From here, exit the medicine garden through the southern gate, follow the main stone path, then turn left. Continue past the Lotus Reflection Pond then you’ll see a cluster of elegant red plum trees and spiritual bamboo. The pavilion has beautiful phoenix carvings on its main gates. You really can’t miss it."
Li Feng cupped his fists with a humble smile.
"Many thanks, Eunuch Peng. You’ve been extremely helpful."
He discreetly slipped a small high-grade spirit stone into the eunuch’s sleeve.
The chubby eunuch’s face brightened instantly, clearly delighted by the generous gesture.
After thanking him again, Li Feng sent the man on his way.
Watching Eunuch Peng’s back as he waddled off giggling over the spirit stone, Li Feng finally turned in the direction he had been given.
