Chapter 743: Chapter 743: Got Thrashed (Part 1)

The guys couldn’t help but say, "Told you! I knew Vera Xavier was framed. Totally called it!"

"I’ve figured it out now. This whole thing was instigated by that girl, Susan Caldwell. Tsk, tsk."

"I’ve heard the saying that there’s nothing more venomous than a woman’s heart. Today, Susan Caldwell really gave us all a vivid lesson!"

Shane Caldwell, however, felt an inexplicable sense of relief. By all rights, Susan Caldwell was his cousin, and he should have been on her side. But for some reason, seeing her surrounded and beaten by a mob of girls felt incredibly satisfying!

He looked over at Vera Xavier, who was standing calmly amidst the crowd, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. For some reason, he was reminded of the time Vera had dealt with Cara Preston at Lingchen No. 1 High School. She had been just as poised and unruffled back then.

He realized in that moment that this was the real Vera Xavier. She was never one to let herself be bullied.

Vera Xavier felt his gaze on her and raised an eyebrow slightly. She then took another step to the side, as Sheldon Caldwell was already coming over to stop the fight.

Sheldon Caldwell had a bad feeling the moment he saw Susan Caldwell confronting Vera Xavier. When the girls began to swarm Susan, he had tried to stop them, but his authority was surprisingly useless against the furious mob!

Of course, he knew why it had failed. He had already exerted his authority once before, when Susan Caldwell was inciting the girls to attack Vera Xavier. But then Vera’s subtle psychological suggestions had added fuel to the fire, and the girls, now incandescent with rage, were far beyond fearing him.

’He truly felt that Susan Caldwell was an idiot,’ he thought. ’School has only been in session for a short while, and how many times has Susan already lost to Vera Xavier? Yet she still thinks she can take her on!’

He managed to pull a few girls away, only to see others immediately take their place. He knew they were all swept up in the emotion of the moment, entering a near-frenzied state. Only drastic measures could stop them now.

’But as the dignified Vice General Manager of a security company, he couldn’t possibly charge in and start beating up a bunch of female students, could he?’

’But he couldn’t just stand there and watch them beat Susan Caldwell to a pulp either!’

Finally, he bellowed, "Stop! All of you!"

His voice was loud and filled with authority, instantly snapping the enraged girls back to their senses.

Sheldon Caldwell shouted, "Are you trying to stage a mutiny? All of you, back off!"

Seeing his furious expression, the girls finally came to their senses. One by one, they stopped and backed away.

Sheldon Caldwell walked over to Susan Caldwell. She was covered in injuries, her face a bloody mess.

When she saw him, she burst into tears, wailing, "Brother, you have to help me this time!"

Her cry left the other girls stunned. The Chief Instructor was Susan Caldwell’s brother? ’It’s over,’ they thought. ’We’re in huge trouble this time!’

Sheldon Caldwell swept her up into his arms and turned to the other instructors. "Isolate everyone who participated in the fight. I’ll deal with this matter when I return!"

The instructors saluted in assent.

After taking a few steps, Sheldon Caldwell turned and glanced back at Vera Xavier. She just gave him an innocent shrug.

’He secretly ground his teeth. It figured. Nathaniel Nathan was a scoundrel, and his woman was no better. She had just blown a huge hole in his military training program. If word of this got back to the company, the other Vice General Managers would probably laugh at him for a solid year!’
