Chapter 289: Chapter 221: Selling Divine Domain Cards, Gaining 5000 Points; Goblin Steam Giant City, City of Precision Gears
Zhang Yi was confident he could list the Five-star Divine Domain Card, [Flesh and Blood Mud Pool], for a high price and still find a buyer, all thanks to its unique effect.
However, these five other Five-star Divine Domain Cards were rather unremarkable to the students in the University Alliance Training Camp. If Zhang Yi listed them at a high price, no one would likely give them a second glance.
Furthermore, he needed to make every second count. After all, the sooner a new Clan appeared in his Divine Realm, the more time it would have to develop.
Therefore, Zhang Yi contacted the University Alliance Training Camp directly and sold the five Five-star Divine Domain Cards to them at a price lower than what he had originally paid.
Of course, the price wasn’t that much lower. Otherwise, Zhang Yi would have held onto them and sold them slowly himself rather than offloading them to the University Alliance Training Camp.
The normal market price for five Five-star Divine Domain Cards was about 4,000 Points.
The buyback price Zhang Yi received for selling them directly to the University Alliance Training Camp was 3,500 Points,
which amounted to a loss of 100 Points per card.
This loss was still within an acceptable range for him.
After settling everything, Zhang Yi’s Points balance for the University Alliance Training Camp reached 8,950.
Once again, it was time for his favorite activity: buying Five-star Divine Domain Cards!
Since Zhang Yi could load two Five-star Divine Domain Cards this month, he needed to save a synthesis opportunity for the second one.
Therefore, he planned to save the 20 million Faith Value purchase and the chance to pick two cards from the Clan Treasure Vault for that other card.
This meant that the nearly 9,000 Points he had would be spent today on purchasing Divine Domain Cards related to the Goblin Clan!
He opened the interface to exchange Points for Divine Domain Cards.
Zhang Yi skillfully entered the keyword "goblin."
Unlike the last time he had selected cards for the Goblin Clan,
this time, he had a clear purpose.
Rare Quality Five-star Divine Domain Card: [800 Goblin Gold Diggers] — 900 Points.
’Buy!’
Rare Quality Five-star Divine Domain Card: [1,000 Goblin Alchemists] — 1,000 Points.
’Buy!’
Exceptional Quality Five-star Divine Domain Card: [500 Goblin Rune Engravers] — 1,200 Points.
’Buy!’
...
And so, Zhang Yi’s finger flew across the interface, tapping to purchase one Divine Domain Card after another.
Cards of varying prices,
but all related to goblins, were added to his collection.
Whether they cost 800 Points or 1,200, as long as the card offered a Profession related to Goblin technology and Magic Power and included a decent number of Goblins,
Zhang Yi bought it without a second thought!
His Points drained away like a bursting dam,
but Zhang Yi didn’t hesitate in the slightest. In fact, his fingers moved even faster as he continued to purchase the Divine Domain Cards.
"8,950... 7,850... 5,430..."
When he finally purchased the last Five-star Divine Domain Card he needed for the Goblin Clan,
Zhang Yi was left with only 3,250 Points.
But in exchange, he had a rich haul!
Six new Divine Domain Cards related to the Goblin Clan,
added to the three he already possessed,
brought the total to nine such cards gathered in his hands.
When the University Alliance Training Camp delivered the six Five-star Divine Domain Cards he purchased to his door,
he took them.
Adding them to the three Goblin Clan cards he already had in storage,
Zhang Yi brought all nine Divine Domain Cards into his Divine Realm.
The pleasant voice of his Golden Finger rang in his ears once more!
[DING!]
[Nine Five-star Level Divine Domain Cards detected. The Golden Finger is refreshing and now presents three options for you to choose from!]
[Option 1]: Goblin Steam Giant City. In worlds with no magic or Low Magic, goblins fully utilize their [Skillful and Artistic] and [Mechanical Affinity] Talents to successfully harness the power of steam! If this option is chosen, the goblins will gain the innate [Steam Affinity] Talent. The city will use steam as its primary power source, developing a city-wide network of steam pipes, steam-powered systems, steam mecha, and steam airships... The technological path emphasizes steam-powered heavy industry and mechanical engineering!
[Option 2]: City of Precision Gears. In worlds with no, low, or medium magic, the Goblin Clan fully unleashes their [Skillful and Artistic] and [Precise Calculation] Talents. The resulting city will be constructed from countless precision gears of varying sizes and clockwork mechanisms, pursuing the ultimate in efficiency and automation. They will develop weapons of clockwork-grade precision... The technological path emphasizes precision engineering and automation!
[Option 3]: Goblin Mage Technology City. In worlds with magic, goblins gradually combine technology and magic. The goblins of your Clan will possess three Talents: [Skillful and Artistic], [Magic Perception], and [Mechanical Affinity]. During this process, even more Talents may emerge! The city will be built around a "Magical Core," integrating the characteristics of various Clans and developing Magically Guided Creatures that fuse Magic Runes, Alchemy, and machinery. The technological path emphasizes Magical Technology, Enchanted Firearms, Rune Mecha, and Elemental Power Furnaces!
The nine Divine Domain Cards related to the Goblin Clan vanished before Zhang Yi, replaced by three brand-new options!
[Option 1] focused on a goblin steam civilization, suitable for worlds with no or Low Magic.
Its technological output leaned toward heavy industry—
a brutalist aesthetic that was simple, crude, and cared only about getting the job done!
However, [Option 1] was unsuitable for development within the Zhang Yi Divine Realm.
For one, the pollution from steam technology was immense; the Elf Clan in his realm would despise it.
For another, Zhang Yi’s Divine Realm had already advanced to become a High Magic World.
To regress and develop technology from a no-magic or Low Magic world,
would be like throwing away a watermelon to pick up a sesame seed!
If he could have acquired this technology on the side, Zhang Yi wouldn’t have refused.
But since he had to choose only one of the three,
he had already eliminated [Option 1] from his mind.
As for [Option 2], the City of Precision Gears, it was orderly and aesthetically pleasing,
but its very precision meant that technological development would be slow and its potential limited.
The development of war machines, in particular, would be even more sluggish!
Therefore, Zhang Yi abandoned [Option 2] as well.
But [Option 3], the Goblin Mage Technology City,
not only had enormous potential and could thrive in any world rich with Magic Power,
but by combining the reliability of machinery with the versatility of magic,
its potential for growth was the highest of the three options.
More importantly, it was the very type of civilization that Zhang Yi had always pursued, the one he had his heart set on.
’If not [Option 3], then when?!’
And so, Zhang Yi’s gaze lingered on [Option 1] and [Option 2] for only a moment before settling decisively on [Option 3]!
As Zhang Yi made his choice,
the nine Five-star Divine Domain Cards floating high in the Divine Realm instantly transformed into nine orbs of white light.
From these orbs, the concepts of "Goblin Clan," "technology," and "magic"
were being extracted.
The three merged into one,
erupting in a blindingly brilliant light!
As Zhang Yi watched these three concepts fuse,
he found his consciousness completely drawn into the process.
What Zhang Yi didn’t realize was,
that as he observed and comprehended the merging of these three concepts—fluctuations that bordered on fundamental laws—
his understanding of his Natural Divine Position was continuously improving!
Elves were a part of Nature.
Dwarves were a part of Nature.
Goblins, too, were a part of Nature.
And naturally, the Magical Civilization that would develop from the union of these three was also a part of Nature!
As Zhang Yi’s consciousness was immersed in the process,
an unknown amount of time passed.
Threads of white light, extracted and analyzed from the nine orbs, gradually wove themselves into the very Divine Domain Card that Zhang Yi desired!
When Zhang Yi opened his eyes again, a brand-new, Special Quality, Five-star Divine Domain Card—[Goblin Mage Technology City]—
had appeared before him!
