Chapter 330 - 227: Hi Miss Yuxue

Chapter 330: Chapter 227: Hi, Miss Yuxue

"Haha... If that’s the kind of business you’re talking about, I’d advise you to stay downstairs for your meal, friend. Give the rest of us a show."

Lou Yuxue ignored the teasing from the surrounding diners. She just glared at Chen Yi, gritting her teeth. "Are you going or not?"

Chen Yi immediately stood up. "Alright, I’ll go. Satisfied?"

"The proprietress is so... beautiful as a flower. Even if she were to eat me alive, I’d secretly be overjoyed."

The crowd naturally burst into laughter again, catcalling that he should make a lot of noise while he was being "eaten," just to liven things up for them.

Chen Yi smiled and cupped his fists, accepting their jests. He then gave Lou Yuxue a wink and headed up to the second floor.

Lou Yuxue glared resentfully at his back. She snapped, "Bigfoot, watch the shop!" before picking up the wontons, lamb, and beef Chen Yi had ordered and following him.

Naturally, this earned her a few more taunts from the diners.

It provoked Lou Yuxue so much she almost threw the wontons downstairs.

Fortunately, just then, she spotted where Chen Yi was. She held up the wontons and asked with a cold smile, "Are you going to eat the wontons, or are you going to eat me?"

Chen Yi pointed downstairs, then to a private room to the side. "You choose," he said leisurely.

Lou Yuxue knew he meant she could either throw the food downstairs or go into the room with him. She instantly flushed red with anger, a blush so deep even her disguise-mask couldn’t hide it.

"Follow me!"

With that, she turned and walked towards a private room further in.

Watching her back, Chen Yi chuckled twice before following.

「The moment the door closed.」

Chen Yi sensed the rush of air behind his head. He dodged to the side, catching a glimpse of a small fist out of the corner of his eye. He smoothly reached out, grabbed it, and pulled.

SLAM.

He pinned Lou Yuxue’s entire body against the door.

"Long time no see, Miss Yuxue. Still as fiery as ever."

Lou Yuxue struggled a couple of times, but finding she couldn’t break free, she turned her head to glare at him, spitting through gritted teeth, "You bastard, you actually dare to show your face to me again? Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill you?"

Chen Yi met her gaze and said with a smile, "Not at all."

"Miss Yuxue is such a gentle and generous person. After gifting me hundreds of thousands of silver, why would she kill me?"

"You scoundrel! Shameless!"

"It was you, you bastard, who broke your word! You despicably stole that silver! How dare you... How dare you..."

Lou Yuxue thought of the silver Chen Yi had taken, thought of the demanding letters from Hawk, and her heart filled with rage and resentment.

"Give me back my silver!"

"Give you back your silver?"

Chen Yi pretended to think. "It’s not impossible."

Lou Yuxue’s anger faltered. "Really?"

"But I’m not giving it back. Instead, I want to partner with you on a very big deal."

"Once it’s done, I guarantee you’ll earn a huge amount of silver."

"You... Don’t even think about it!"

Lou Yuxue started struggling again. "You have no Jianghu ethics, and even less business integrity! I’ll die before I ever partner with you!"

"Don’t be so quick to refuse. Why not hear my plan first?"

"Fine. Let me go first."

Chen Yi took the opportunity to release her, taking a step back. "Don’t try anything else," he warned. "You know you’re no match for me."

Hearing this, Lou Yuxue gritted her teeth and lowered her hand. She huffed angrily, walking around him to sit at the table, her eyes filled with indignant fury.

Seeing her sit down, Chen Yi stopped teasing her. He sat down opposite her and started eating the wontons and lamb himself.

After swallowing a bite, he gave a thumbs-up. "I have to say, this is actually really good. No wonder Miss Yuxue’s shop is doing so well."

Who knew that hearing his praise would only make Lou Yuxue angrier? She slammed her hand on the table.

"If you’re going to eat, then eat! What’s with all the chatter?"

"And another thing, do you think I *want* to be running a shop here? Do you think I *want* this place to be successful?"

"If it weren’t for you, because you took that silver, would I... would I be reduced to this?"

"So after all that, you really are running this wonton shop with all your heart just to earn silver."

He paused, then asked curiously, "So how much silver have you earned these past few days?"

Lou Yuxue was about to answer, but then she remembered his usual roguish behavior and said warily:

"However much I’ve earned is none of your business. Don’t even think about getting any ideas."

Chen Yi chuckled, shaking his head. "A gentleman loves wealth, but he obtains it through the Dao. I only like to take what I deserve."

Lou Yuxue’s eyes widened. "How do you have the face to say something like that?"

"Of the two hundred ninety thousand silver from before, one hundred forty thousand of it was mine."

Hearing this, Chen Yi’s expression turned serious. "No. It’s mine now."

"If it weren’t for your one hundred forty thousand silver, why would I have thought of you first for this great deal?"

In other words, how could they have met again if not for the debt between them?

Unfortunately, Lou Yuxue clearly didn’t understand such subtleties. She just held out a fair, delicate hand and huffed:

"If you want me to partner with you, fine. Give me back my silver."

"It’s gone. As I just said, that silver is the capital for this new deal."

"You can’t start a joint venture without putting up capital, right?"

"You... that’s twisted logic! You... you bastard..."

"Get out! I... I don’t want to see you!"

Chen Yi continued eating his wontons, unconcerned. "Is Miss Yuxue sure she doesn’t want in on this?" he asked with a smile.

"If this deal goes well, the profits will be much, much greater than last time."

Lou Yuxue turned her face away, refusing to look at him. "That’s only if you can actually get your hands on it," she huffed.

"Partnering with you, not only would I get nothing, but I’d also attract a mountain of trouble. The loss would far outweigh the gain."

"This time is different. I guarantee you’ll make a huge profit."

"How much?"

"What?"

"How much silver can I earn?"

Seeing him look over, Lou Yuxue explained, a little lacking in confidence:

"I never said I’d partner with you. I’m just asking. It’s fine if you don’t want to tell me."

Chen Yi knew she was still on guard because of what happened last time. He smiled and held up five fingers.

"Five hundred thousand silver."
