Li Chang’an quickly handed her the terminal and stated succinctly, "We’ve successfully intercepted the enemy’s plan of action. Their main assault will be on the Southeast Defense Line. The Rebel Army and the Insect Race are launching a joint operation, planning to break through a weak point in the line!"

Liu Na glanced at the data on the terminal, her brow furrowed. "So it really is the Southeast Defense Line... We’ve already begun reinforcing the defenses there, but according to your intel, the enemy is advancing faster than we anticipated. It looks like they’re fully prepared!"

"How should we respond?" Li Chang’an asked.

Liu Na considered for a moment before saying decisively, "I’ll dispatch some of our main Combat Groups to reinforce the Southeast Defense Line, but there are still too many unknowns regarding the enemy. Your squad excels at reconnaissance and tactical strikes, so I want you to act as a mobile support team, ready to respond to any emergencies!"

Li Chang’an nodded. "We’ll give you our full support!"

Liu Na turned and issued further orders to the entire command room. "Immediately bolster fire support at the Southeast Defense Line. Also, dispatch the Third and Fifth Combat Groups as reinforcements. We must be ready before the enemy attacks!"

The Insect Hunter Squad quickly geared up and headed for the Southeast Defense Line to provide support.

They made their way to a temporary command post near the front line. Many members of other Combat Groups had already gathered there, all of them tense as they made their final preparations for battle.

"Looks like the battle’s about to start!" Han Ruoxi said, standing at the edge of the defense line. She watched the defensive forces massing in the distance, her expression growing heavy.

"Yeah, the enemy could attack at any moment." Li Chang’an’s cold gaze swept across the front. "We have to stay vigilant. Their joint offensive won’t be a simple one."

Sun Yang stood to the side, gripping his Pulse Gun. A smile was still on his lips, but his eyes held a newfound seriousness. "This baby’s locked and loaded, ready to fire anytime. The moment those bastards show their faces, I’ll teach them the meaning of suppressing fire!"

Bai Lin kept his head down, focused on his terminal as he monitored developments on the front line. "The enemy is still massing its forces. The number of Insects is huge. The Rebel Army is setting up on the perimeter. They must be waiting for the perfect moment to strike!"

"The enemy is waiting for their moment, too," Shen Qiuyue said quietly. "The second they think we’ve revealed an opening, they’ll attack with lightning speed."

Li Chang’an glanced at the members of the other Combat Groups around them, then said in a low, serious voice, "Everyone, get ready. The fight could start at any second!"

The atmosphere before the base’s defense line was exceptionally tense. A palpable sense of unease hung in the air.

Every soldier gripped their weapon, waiting for the battle to come.

A short while later, the frontline monitors suddenly blared with a series of urgent alarms.

"The enemy’s here!" Bai Lin shouted, staring at his terminal. He reported quickly, "The Insect Race is approaching the defense line. There are even more of them than we estimated!"

"All units, prepare for battle!" Li Chang’an immediately commanded. The entire Insect Hunter Squad snapped into combat readiness.

In the distance, the Insect Race forces surged forward like a tide. Tens of thousands of insectoid monsters charged frantically toward the base’s fortifications.

The Rebel Army forces followed close behind, clearly intending to use the Insects’ charge as cover for a flanking maneuver.

"Here they come!" Sun Yang gripped his Pulse Gun, a mixture of nerves and excitement in his voice. "Now this is a real battle! Let’s get ready to raise some hell!"

"Don’t panic! Hold your ground!" Li Chang’an commanded calmly. "Han Ruoxi, get your Electric Superpower ready to lock down the enemy’s advance. Shen Qiuyue, maintain the defensive line!"

"Understood!" A powerful electric current began to coalesce between Han Ruoxi’s hands, ready to be unleashed at a moment’s notice.

"I’m ready!" Shen Qiuyue said, tightening her grip on her sword, her gaze resolute.

The Insect Race’s charge drew ever closer, accompanied by covering fire from the Rebel Army.

The enemy’s attack was clearly well-coordinated, each phase posing a significant threat.

"Sun Yang, suppressing fire! Prioritize taking out the Insect vanguard!" Li Chang’an ordered decisively.

"Copy that!" Sun Yang immediately squeezed the trigger.

The Pulse Gun unleashed a furious volley of Energy Bullets that struck the charging Insects with precision. With a series of massive explosions, several of the insectoid monsters were instantly knocked down.

"Haha, what a rush!" Sun Yang grinned, continuing his barrage. "Watch this! My suppressing fire will stop them dead in their tracks!"

"Don’t get cocky. The main enemy force hasn’t even made its move yet," Li Chang’an said calmly, his eyes locked on the front line.

The Insects at the front seemed endless, surging toward the base’s defense line in a ceaseless tide.

Although Sun Yang’s suppressing fire was having an effect, the enemy’s numbers were simply overwhelming. Soon, more of the Insects broke through the first line of fire, closing in on the outer perimeter.

"Han Ruoxi, now!" Li Chang’an commanded.

"Right!" Han Ruoxi thrust her hands forward, unleashing the powerful current she had gathered. A blue-white arc of electricity, like a bolt of lightning, tore through the air and instantly struck a large swath of the Insect horde.

The current coursed through the Insects’ bodies, paralyzing them and temporarily halting their advance.

"Nice one!" Sun Yang yelled from the rear. He took advantage of the Insects being immobilized by the Electric Energy and unleashed a frantic barrage, mowing down a huge number of them.

"Brother Chang’an, the Rebel Army behind them is on the move!" Han Ruoxi reported, panting from the exertion.

’Just as I thought!’ Li Chang’an’s gaze turned icy. "The enemy’s real offensive is starting now. The Rebel Army is using the Insects as cover to flank us!"
