Chapter 660: Chapter 322: Genius Hacker Gets It Done (2)

"Alright, that’s enough! Stop arguing!"

Li Chang’an raised a hand. His voice wasn’t loud, but it instantly silenced the two of them.

"You two bicker every single day. Can’t you find something new to fight about? Arguing over such trivial matters like you’re sworn enemies... it’s embarrassing.

Also, this assessment is important. If either of you embarrasses me today, you’ll be cleaning the training ground tonight!"

"What? The training ground?"

Sun Yang immediately shut his mouth, his eyes wide.

He knew just how big and filthy the training ground was, and how exhausting it was to clean. If he had to do that tonight, he wouldn’t get any sleep.

Han Ruoxi pouted and muttered under her breath,

’Hmph, all he does is try to scare us!’

Shen Qiuyue stood up from a nearby bench, her tone ice-cold.

"Are you done arguing? Have you eaten? If not, go now. Don’t make us waste time this afternoon.

During the assessment, no one is going to explain the reasons for your mistakes!"

Her words instantly cooled the hostile atmosphere.

Sun Yang rubbed his nose and said resentfully,

"Fine, it’s just an assessment. How badly can I do? Don’t act like we’re heading to a real battlefield, all tense and wound up!"

Shen Qiuyue glanced at him, didn’t bother replying, and turned to leave.

Before the assessment began, the Insect Hunter Squad gathered at the training ground. Liu Na was already waiting for them.

She was dressed in combat fatigues, arms crossed, standing in the middle of the field as she watched Li Chang’an’s group slowly approach.

"You’re finally here!"

Liu Na’s tone was flat, but her eyes held a hint of impatience.

"Li Chang’an, the standards for this assessment are high.

If you can’t lead your team properly, don’t blame me for being harsh!"

"Don’t worry, Commander Liu. No one will dare to slack off today!"

Li Chang’an smiled faintly, his gaze sweeping over his teammates.

"Right?"

Sun Yang nodded vigorously.

"Absolutely! Commander Liu, just look at me. I’m in peak mental condition, practically ready for a breakthrough performance!"

Han Ruoxi rolled her eyes from the side.

"Keep talking. We’ll see how you have a ’breakthrough performance’ when you get knocked flat on your ass in a bit!"

"Hey, Ruo Xi, don’t always call me out like that! Our squad is all about unity!"

Sun Yang chuckled and turned back to Liu Na.

"Commander, what’s the actual content of this assessment? Is it just shooting those fake Insect Race models again? I’m telling you, I’ve been practicing. My headshot rate is practically perfect!"

"Sun Yang, with all that boasting, is your name already written on the wall of failures for today?"

Shen Qiuyue said coolly.

"Sister Qiuyue, don’t be like that. Give a brother a little face, will you?"

Sun Yang rubbed his hands together, a fawning look on his face.

Liu Na ignored him and simply turned to point at a screen on the side of the field.

"The assessment content and standards are all here. Read them carefully so you don’t complain later.

I only have one thing to say—this assessment is not a game. Don’t mess around!"

Han Ruoxi glanced at the screen and muttered,

"Whoa, so many stages? And it’s divided into three modules: Ranged, Melee, and Superpower. Isn’t this a little too difficult?"

"So you do realize it’s difficult?"

Sun Yang immediately chimed in.

"Then let’s team up! We can huddle together for warmth!"

"Pfft! In your dreams!"

Han Ruoxi said with a look of disgust.

"Alright!"

Li Chang’an clapped his hands.

"Enough chit-chat. Read the details and start preparing.

If you have any questions, ask them now!"

The assessment’s content was indeed not simple. Each module had numerous combat simulation exercises, and the virtual images of the Insect Race were a real challenge for the team members.

Shen Qiuyue finished the fastest. Her movements were fluid and seamless, with every sword strike hitting its mark precisely. When she came down, even Liu Na nodded.

"Not bad!"

Liu Na commented.

Han Ruoxi also gritted her teeth and completed her part, ending up so tired she had to lean against a wall to catch her breath.

"These models... are way too realistic!"

Sun Yang went up next, but he slipped up and nearly took a face-plant.

He rubbed the back of his head and laughed awkwardly.

"Heh heh, my hand slipped, that’s all! I’ll be steady next time for sure!"

"You think there’ll be a next time?"

Liu Na’s brows furrowed.

"Sun Yang, do it again in five minutes. You’re not leaving until you meet the standard!"

Sun Yang’s face fell instantly.

"Huh? There’s a penalty? Commander Liu, aren’t you being a little too harsh?!"

"It’s fine, I’ll practice with you a few more times!"

Li Chang’an said with a smile, patting Sun Yang on the shoulder.

"Brother Chang’an... you... you really are my dear Captain!"

Sun Yang was so moved he almost cried.

"Cut the crap and get back to practice!"

Li Chang’an’s voice was quiet, but it left no room for argument.

After training ended, everyone returned to the dorms, each one collapsing onto their bed, exhausted.

Sun Yang was still complaining non-stop.

"I’ve had it! Who designed this kind of assessment? Couldn’t they make it a little more humane?"

"Humane?"

Han Ruoxi sneered.

"Then you should stop being a soldier and go home to retire!"

"Han Ruoxi, can you not hit me where it hurts? I was just kidding, okay!"

Sun Yang let out a wail and rolled over, playing dead.

Shen Qiuyue spoke coolly.

"Instead of complaining, you should be practicing.

The Insect Race won’t show you any mercy!"

"Alright, alright, you’re all amazing. I’ll just shut up, okay?"

Sun Yang waved his hands in resignation.

"Alright, everyone get some rest. We have a mission tomorrow!"

Li Chang’an said, leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed.

Early the next morning, before the base’s morning bell had even rung, the Insect Hunter Squad’s dormitory was already in a state of utter chaos.

"Sun Yang! Get up! What time did you set your alarm for? How are you still asleep!"

Han Ruoxi stood by Sun Yang’s bed, stomping her foot in frustration.

She was holding a shoe in her hand, looking like she was about to throw it at him.

"Don’t shout, don’t shout... just five more minutes, only five..." Sun Yang mumbled from under his blanket, letting out a yawn, completely ignoring Han Ruoxi’s fury.

"Five more minutes? Do you have any idea what time it is? If Captain Li hadn’t just passed by and mentioned it, I would have thought we didn’t have training today!"

As she spoke, Han Ruoxi slammed the shoe onto the floor with a loud SMACK.

Sun Yang shot up from under the covers. His eyes weren’t fully open, but his voice was plenty loud.

"What time is it?! Why didn’t anyone wake me up!"

"Wake you up? I called you three times, and each time you said ’just five more minutes’!"

Han Ruoxi pointed at him, furious.

"’Five more minutes’... At this rate, I expect to see you strung up on the training ground by Liu Na!"

"Huh? It’s that late?"

Sun Yang scrambled out of bed and started fumbling to get dressed.

"You should have said so sooner! Han Ruoxi, you’re no help at all. If you’re going to wake me up, do it properly! Ripping the blanket off is the only thing that works!"

"Rip the blanket off? Why didn’t I think of that?"

Han Ruoxi said with a cold smile.

"Next time, I’ll just douse you with cold water. We’ll see if you get up then!"

"Alright, have you two argued enough? Don’t wake everyone up this early in the morning!"

Shen Qiuyue’s voice came from the other side of the room. She was already fully dressed and organizing her weapons and gear.

"Sister Shen, don’t lecture us. A guy like Sun Yang just needs to be taught a lesson!"

Han Ruoxi rolled her eyes, then walked over to her locker and began organizing her Superpower Module wristband.

"Who needs to be taught a lesson? I’m the main firepower of our squad! Without me, you’d lose half your damage output!"

Sun Yang yelled, craning his neck stubbornly.

"Lose half your damage output? Heh, are you saying we only win because of you?"

Han Ruoxi was so angry she laughed.

"Why don’t you go out on the battlefield alone today? We’ll all watch from the back and see how long our ’main firepower’ can last!"

"Whoa there, Han Ruoxi, I was just saying! Don’t make such a big deal out of it! We’re a team, remember? Unity is what’s most important!"

Sun Yang immediately put on a smiling face and waved his hands dismissively.

"Cut the crap!"

Han Ruoxi shot him a glare and ignored him.

Just then, Li Chang’an walked in from outside, holding a briefing folder and glancing at the chaotic state of the dorm.

"Is everyone up? Assemble in five minutes. We have a mission today!"

Li Chang’an stood in the doorway. His voice wasn’t loud, but it carried an undeniable authority.

"A mission?"
