Chapter 745 - 365: Everyone on Board

Chapter 745: Chapter 365: Everyone on Board

Li Chang’an nodded and led the squad onward.

They faced a few small-scale attacks from the Insect Race en route, but the Insect Hunter Squad dispatched them quickly.

Once they reached the target area, Bai Lin began scanning the surroundings with his instrument to confirm it was safe.

"No other Energy fluctuations. We can head back!"

Bai Lin reported calmly.

"Good. Everyone, on the vehicle. Prepare for the return trip!"

Li Chang’an scanned the area one last time. Only after confirming there was nothing out of the ordinary did he order the squad to pull out.

As the vehicle started on its way back, Sun Yang leaned back in his seat and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Today’s mission was pretty relaxed. I wish every day could be this simple!"

"Dream on. Today was just a fluke,"

Shen Qiuyue retorted coldly.

Han Ruoxi was leaning against the window, staring blankly into the distance for a moment before she suddenly asked,

"Captain, don’t you think the Insect Race’s recent activity has been a little strange? They don’t seem as disorganized as they used to be."

"Possibly. But that’s not our problem."

Li Chang’an closed his eyes, leaning back in his seat.

"We just need to go back and file the report. Someone else will handle the rest."

Sun Yang stretched and grumbled as he gazed out the window.

"I really hope our next mission isn’t against the Insect Race. Dealing with these guys every day is making me lose my joy for life!"

Back at the base, the moment the vehicle came to a stop, Sun Yang was the first to jump out, stretching his arms.

"We’re finally back! I thought we’d be out there all day and miss dinner!"

Han Ruoxi hopped down from the vehicle, her gear bag in hand, and shot him a sidelong glance.

"Is food all you think about?

The mission just ended, and you’re already thinking about dinner?"

"That’s not the point! The point is whether the food will be any better tonight. Don’t you guys feel like we eat the same thing every day? I can’t even taste the difference anymore!"

Sun Yang said, patting his stomach.

"We’re Interstellar Warriors. Shouldn’t our mess get an upgrade?"

"If you’ve got the guts, go complain to the commander. See if he improves the food or just throws you in the brig!"

Shen Qiuyue dropped the cold remark as she walked past, not breaking her stride.

Sun Yang froze for a second, then rubbed his nose and muttered under his breath.

’It’s not like I’m an idiot. Who’d want to go to the brig?’

Li Chang’an stood by the vehicle, his eyes sweeping over everyone.

"Cut the chatter. Back to the dorms. Wash up, change clothes. Report to the briefing hall in ten minutes to submit the mission report!"

"Ten minutes? Captain, are you trying to mess with us? Wash up, change, *and* write the report? How is ten minutes enough for all that?"

Sun Yang’s eyes widened in an exaggerated expression of disbelief.

"If you think that’s not enough time, then don’t wash up. Just submit the report."

Li Chang’an’s expression was impassive as he glanced at him.

"Besides, no one’s going to care if you stink."

"Alright, alright, I’ll shut my mouth!"

Sun Yang gave a helpless wave, grabbed his gear, and headed for the dorms.

Han Ruoxi, following behind him, couldn’t resist making a snarky comment.

"Sun Yang, I’m starting to think you have a natural talent for running your mouth.

It’s a waste you’re not a talk show host!"

"Hey, I’m just trying to liven things up.

Otherwise, with everyone looking so serious all day, this squad would get sick from the gloom!"

Sun Yang glanced back at her with a grin.

"Look, the Captain is so stoic, Shen Qiuyue is so cold, and Bai Lin never talks. If I don’t say something, the atmosphere would be totally dead!"

"You’re good at making excuses, I’ll give you that."

Han Ruoxi couldn’t be bothered to argue and quickened her pace into the dorm.

Ten minutes later, the squad members showed up in the briefing hall right on time.

Li Chang’an handed the mission report to Instructor Wei Zhuang and stood aside, awaiting orders.

Wei Zhuang flipped through the report, then looked up and scanned the group.

"It was completed well, but it’s nothing worthy of praise.

On the next mission, be more efficient. I don’t want to see any unnecessary delays."

"Understood!"

Li Chang’an responded with a nod.

Wei Zhuang waved a dismissive hand.

"Alright, you have no other assignments today. You’re on free time.

But don’t go too far. Stay on standby."

"Free time?"

Sun Yang’s eyes lit up when he heard that.

"Instructor, now that’s great news! I thought it was just training and missions for us, 24/7!"

"Don’t get too excited. Free time doesn’t mean you can slack off.

The base has rules. Don’t cause any trouble."

Wei Zhuang’s tone was stern. He turned and left without another word.

"Awesome! We finally have time to catch our breath!"

Sun Yang turned to the others.

"How about we go hang out in the rec room? I heard they just installed some new combat simulators. It would be a good way to loosen up!"

"You still have the energy? I just want to go back to the dorm and crash for a bit."

Han Ruoxi shook her head, looking exhausted.

"Combat simulators? Sounds interesting."

Shen Qiuyue paused for a moment before looking at Li Chang’an.

"Captain, are you going?"

"You all go ahead. I have something else to take care of."

Li Chang’an said with a wave of his hand.

"There goes the Captain, off to do serious business again. He’s got no sense of fun at all!"

Sun Yang shook his head.

"Alright then, the rest of us will go have some fun!"

Han Ruoxi sighed. In the end, she couldn’t talk them out of it and followed them to the rec room.

The combat simulators in the rec room had just been installed, and a crowd of soldiers had already gathered around, all clearly intrigued by the new toys.

"I’ll go first!"

Sun Yang beat everyone to it, stepping up to the console and expertly activating the machine.

Standing nearby, Han Ruoxi watched his excited expression and couldn’t help but make a dry comment.

"You’re more enthusiastic about this than you are about missions."

"This is called blowing off steam, get it? You can’t be wound up all the time!"

Sun Yang grinned back at her as he calibrated the equipment.
