Bai Xifeng stopped in her tracks and turned around to face the eunuch who was trailing nervously behind her.

"Hey!" Bai Xifeng called out flatly.

​The eunuch flinched hard at her voice, his shoulders violently tensing up. ​However, he braced himself, swallowed his fear, and forced a stiff expression onto his face to ask what she wanted.

​"Y-Young Lady Bai, is there something wrong?" The eunuch asked, trying his best to sound composed.

​"Where on earth is the carriage?" Bai Xifeng asked, crossing her arms.

​The eunuch blinked in confusion and also looked around the empty street. ​He vaguely remembered that an official imperial carriage had been arranged for this task, but as he scanned the surroundings now, it was nowhere to be seen, likely delayed or sent elsewhere by the palace drivers.

​"Your Royal Family’s audacity really is something else. You go through all the trouble of summoning me to the palace, but you don’t even bother to provide a carriage?" Bai Xifeng stated, shaking her head in mock disbelief.

​The eunuch was left completely speechless.

​The eunuch was paralysed with shock when he heard her offhandedly declare that this horrifying nightmare of a monster standing in front of him was actually her tame contracted beast! ​How could a young girl like Bai Xifeng possibly tame and contract such a world-ending, bloodthirsty beast?!

​Xiao Li was left entirely speechless. ​She turned her head to glance back down the long street in the direction they had come from.

When the people on the street saw a massive beast tearing down the middle of the road, panic broke out instantly. They screamed in terror, diving and scrambling frantically out of the way to make room for the creature.

Once the initial shock wore off, however, the onlookers realised that the monster was not on a rampant rampage.
