Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1846: First a Stick Then a Date

Chapter 1846: Chapter 1846: First a Stick, Then a Date

"Master Priest, are you being reasonable or not?" Seeing that he was about to be forced into a corner by Mu Hanyan, Long Wudang was ready to risk it all.

"Reason? Ling Baobao, give him some reasoning." Mu Hanyan signaled to Ling Baobao with a glance.

"Sure, I love reasoning the most." Ling Baobao walked towards Long Wudang with a turtle shell in hand, his smile was so gentle and kind, so harmless.

Ever since discovering that the Overlord Dragon Armor could immunize him from Divine Arts damage, Ling Baobao was absolutely fearless, and his violent nature was ignited.

Back when he was on the Holy Court Continent, his limited cultivation could only bully the weak; even when faced with a slightly stronger swordsman, he would only get bullied instead. However, after coming to the Divine Continent and obtaining the Overlord Dragon Armor, everything was turned upside down. Any priest with average abilities could only receive a beating from him.

"Fine, I agree with you. I’ll find a way, alright?" Long Wudang, familiar with the wonders of the Overlord Dragon Armor, immediately softened his tone, speaking with a sobbing voice.

Although submitting to Mu Hanyan could very well be a dead end, it was something to worry about later, maybe he wouldn’t even die. But once Ling Baobao made a move, he would soon find himself wishing for death.

Between dying or maybe not dying and living worse than death, the latter seemed far more terrifying, so he wisely chose the former.

"Sigh, why does no one like reasoning anymore?" Ling Baobao regretfully put down the Overlord Dragon Armor.

The storage bracelet Gao Weihu gifted him was still on his wrist, but he liked running around carrying a turtle shell, feeling it was quite the trend.

"Don’t think I’m harming you; the enemy of your enemy is your friend. I suppose you don’t want to be under Long Wucuo’s feet forever, never to see the light of day, right? I promise you, once this is done, I’ll teach Long Wucuo a harsh lesson. As long as you’re willing to be my friend, I’ll do my utmost to help you ascend to the position of Young Master of the Long Family." Mu Hanyan didn’t want Long Wudang to be anxious and indecisive, so after the stick came the sweet offering.

Hearing Mu Hanyan’s words, Long Wudang’s heart stirred.

If it were in the past, he would have scoffed at Mu Hanyan’s words. Huayu Temple, a mere entity, could fall at any time, and who cared about Mu Hanyan as the priest.

However, after suffering under Mu Hanyan’s hands, not just once, and witnessing the dramatic changes Huayu Temple experienced since Mu Hanyan became the priest, and watching her decisively destroy Xiang Qiuzhan, he had long been in awe of her. The incredible talent she showed while learning the Long family’s ancestral Sealing Technique had left him astonished.

He didn’t even dare to imagine Mu Hanyan’s potential for growth, what a remarkable future the Huayu Temple might have, and if he could secure her support early, he saw hope in standing as the Young Master of the Long Family, firmly stepping on Long Wucuo.

Thinking this, Long Wudang was no longer so despairing, and a look of excitement gradually appeared on his face.

"What do you say, Young Master Long?" Seeing the change in expression on Long Wudang’s face, Mu Hanyan knew he was tempted and spoke more kindly.

"Thank you, Master Priest, for placing your faith in me. I will spare no effort on this matter." The more Long Wudang thought, the more excited he became, clasping his hands towards Mu Hanyan in response.

Gao Weihu gave Mu Hanyan a meaningful glance, first using a big stick and then offering a sweet date to comfort people. Indeed, this Master Priest was quite adept at winning hearts.

Having been in Tianyang City for so long and secretly gathering information, Gao Weihu had extensive knowledge about the peers from various priest families, especially keeping a close eye on Long Wudang, the son of Tianyang Chief Priest Long Aoli, fully aware of his character. By his burning eyes, he knew this guy, like him, was dragged onto the pirate ship.

"Here, take this." Gao Weihu handed over two masks.

Though these masks weren’t finely crafted, at a glance they seemed without major flaws, evidently better than those donkey-faced, horse-faced masks from yesterday, which were purely a joke, a result of Gao Weihu’s evil taste for psychological balance.

"When do we make our move?" Mu Hanyan took the mask and asked Long Wudang.

"Wait until tonight. I’ll think a bit more about it." Long Wudang said.

Mu Hanyan nodded, saying nothing more. Since he had already agreed to get on the pirate ship, finding a way was his own business, nor was it necessary for her to say more, after all, if there was a mistake, he couldn’t escape either.

She had thought dealing with the Seal would take a lot of time, but surprisingly, it was easy, with plenty of time left before nightfall. Mu Hanyan didn’t idle around, sitting down to deduce the Eight Desolate God Fall.

What she learned of the Eight Desolate God Fall was actually a formation. Though it could be reversed like the Nine Heavens Star Fall and Star Falling in Eight Desolates, it wasn’t that simple, and her understanding of it was imperfect, unable to fully unleash its true power, requiring continuous examination and practice.

Her mind kept working through the Eight Desolate God Fall, and time flew by; before she realized it, night had fallen.

"Is it time yet?" Mu Hanyan looked up and asked Long Wudang.

"Hold on, Long Wucuo might not have returned yet. First, memorize this." Long Wudang handed over a piece of paper.

"What is this?" Mu Hanyan asked in confusion, looking at the chaotic ink marks.

"It’s a map of the Long family. I drew it all day, finally finished." Long Wudang said proudly.

"Are you sure this is a map?" She had seen him hunched over the table scribbling all day and hadn’t bothered to ask. Now she realized he was drawing a map, but this Ghost Talisman-looking thing was supposed to be a map.

"Of course it is. This is the meeting hall, this is the main house, this is the servants’ outer courtyard, this is the outer court, this room is my courtyard, and next to it, the third in line, is Long Wucuo’s quarters." Long Wudang said, pointing to that pile of Ghost Talisman-like drawings.

"I guess your literacy and art teacher died young?" Mu Hanyan asked thoughtfully.

"How did you know?" Long Wudang looked at Mu Hanyan in surprise. How could she have foreseen even this? The Eldest Young Master Long was once again awed by Mu Hanyan.

Several black lines appeared on Mu Hanyan’s forehead; she couldn’t believe she’d guessed correctly that his teacher did indeed die young. Heaven knows she only meant to make a sarcastic remark.

With Long Wudang’s guidance, Mu Hanyan finally remembered that Ghost Talisman...oh no, it was a map.

"Wait by the wall of my courtyard. I’ll find a way to distract the guard and set fire to the house. Once you hear commotion, make your move immediately." Long Wudang instructed.
