Chapter 516: Gui Feng City

Lin Mansion.

There was lesser and lesser snow on the ground as the days went by.

Some of the leaves and grass in the mansion had sprouted from their winter slumber, adding some greens to the colors of the mansion.

Life was slowly getting back to its glorious bloom.

With the warmer weather, Lin Xuan Qi was also more active in getting ready for the trip to Gui Feng City.

And at the moment, he was at the gate of the mansion, bidding farewell to Xue Cong and the others before he got onto the horse carriage.

Liu Shi Shi stood by the side, patted on her belt sword, gesturing to him that she would protect them and waved at him.

All of them had different personalities but they had one thing in common.

"Don’t worry, the trip wouldn’t be too long." He said to them and turned around.

After he got into the horse carriage, he looked out of the window and waved back at them, while the coachman cracked his whip for the horse carriage to start moving.

Trot.

The horses started trotting and Lin Xuan Qi rested onto the back of the seat when they were out of sight.

He began to ponder what Gui Feng could have in store for him.

The trip to Gui Feng was uneventful and it was a three days’ worth of journey.

There were towns that he could rest in between and he noticed that they were in comparison much richer than the towns or villages near Hong Feng City.

He figured that it might be due to the mining resources that Gui Feng City was renowned for, and the wealth from the mines had spilled over to these towns and villages.

That gave him the confidence in his decision to expand to Gui Feng City.

And he was convinced of it when he finally arrived.

The city walls of Gui Feng City were even taller than Hong Feng City.

He wasn’t sure but he estimated that it was only a few meters short of being as tall as the city walls of Bian Jing.

Horse carriages lined up with the house guards of the masters sitting inside waited for their turn to get into the city.

There were also travelers on foot with all sorts of goods they had in their horse carts or push carts lining up too.

Lin Xuan Qi was no exception and he waited patiently in line.

"Next!"

After a long wait, the soldiers at the gate shouted and it was his turn.

His horse carriage moved forward and a soldier came up to the coachman to ask about their purpose of visit.

The coachman had the documents and copper coins ready for the soldier and things went smoothly afterwards.

It only took a while for the soldier to have a glance at the documents and wave them forward.

The coachman did as told and the horse carriage finally got into the city.

"Bring us to the Long Shan Inn." Lin Xuan Qi said to the coachman and the coachman nodded his head.

It took some time for the coachman to ask around and by the time they arrived at the Long Shan Inn, it was already dinner time.

"Welcome, here to stay or here for dinner?" The inn keeper gave a huge smile at Lin Xuan Qi when he entered into the inn.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded at him and gestured at the horse carriage stopped outside, "I’m here looking for Bai Xun. Help me take care of the horses and horse carriage for the time being."

"Ah, Master Bai Xun. He is waiting for you in his room." The inn keeper said and turned around into the inn.

He gave a shout and the waiters came rushing out.

"Get the young master to Master Bai Xun’s room and get someone to take care of the young master’s horses and horse carriage."

"We will do it now, Inn keeper." The waiters bowed at the inn keeper and said.

One of them went outside to take care of the horse carriage while another put the towel he had onto his shoulder and gestured for Lin Xuan Qi to follow him.

Lin Xuan Qi did so and they got to the second floor of the inn where the rooms for the guests were.

They walked through the corridor and stopped in the middle.

"Here is the room of Master Bai Xun." The waiter said with a smile.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded at the waiter and took out some copper coins from his sleeve pocket.

"Here’s for you and your friend helping with my horse carriage."

"Thanks." The waiter was glad with the tip and said, "Let me know if you need anything, just give a shout to Ah Gou and I’ll be here quick."

The waiter left and Lin Xuan Qi knocked on the doors.

Bai Xun opened the doors soon after.

When he saw that it was Lin Xuan Qi outside, his eyes opened wide in surprise and said, "Master Lin, please come in quick."

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and entered the room.

Bai Xun closed the doors behind him and he quickly got to the middle of the room where the table and chairs were.

He poured Lin Xuan Qi a cup of tea and said, "It must have been a tiring journey for you, Master Lin."

"Thanks. It was fortunately a smooth trip for me."

Lin Xuan Qi sat down by the table, picked up the tea cup and took a sip of the tea.

"I have arranged a few rooms for you, the coachman and the guards." Bai Xun said and Lin Xuan Qi gave him a nod.

This was the reason why he had assigned Bai Xun to come here for the expansion.

Bai Xun was one that could plan and execute well enough.

"Have a sit."

When he saw Bai Xun still standing, he gestured for Bai Xun to sit with him.
