Chapter 531: Betrayal

"All the cultivators are to get to the middle of the ancient forest to leave the secret realm safely.

"The Qing Feng Sect disciples will help you along the way."

The voice soon stopped and then there was nothing but the howls from the demonic beasts in the distance.

Lin Xuan Qi frowned and shook his head at what he had heard.

He knew what lay ahead for him, Lao Er and Ling Er.

Having cultivators who had just finished harvesting treasures from the secret realm gathering together spelled disaster.

They wouldn’t give up the chance to snatch, rob and kill each other for what the others had gotten.

It would be a tough time ahead for him.

Lao Er and Ling Er glanced at each other before they glanced at the incense urn that was carried by Lao Er.

"Go with caution. Hide and avoid any confrontations as much as possible." The low coarse voice came out from the incense urn and said.

Lao Er and Ling Er nodded their heads.

And so, they lowered their profile and moved along behind the cover of the foliage as much as possible.

Lin Xuan Qi moved along with them while sensing for any trouble that lay ahead for them.

After a smooth and uneventful start, he finally sensed someone ahead and he scouted ahead to take care of it.

He saw three rogue cultivators who were finishing off some other cultivators.

"Brother Dong, thanks to you, we are doing very well." One of them who was skinny and had a weapon which looked like a skeletal claw said with glee while he got some Spirit Stones from the body beside him.

"Hmph. I’ve been hunting ever since I could start walking. Of course they would have no chance." Brother Dong, who was dressed like a hunter with fur covering his body and feet, said with pride.

The third person among them burst out with a laugh.

He was a rogue cultivator who was dressed like a scholar, and he laughed while fanning himself with a folding fan.

"Wait." Brother Dong suddenly said and he lifted his head and sniffed the air.

"There’s some more coming." He said after he smelled something.

"Where are they coming from?" Skinny claws grinned with glee and he got ready for it.

Rogue scholar also glanced at Brother Dong with anticipation.

Brother Dong pointed in the direction where Lao Er and Ling Er were coming from.

Lin Xuan Qi gave out a sigh and he shook his head.

Guess there’s more work for me. He thought as he stepped out from his cover.

He didn’t use his invisible talismans as he was low on them and he had to conserve whatever he had just in case.

"Who are you!" Skinny claws pointed his skeletal claws at him.

Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and said, "I’m just a rogue cultivator like you."

Brother Dong smirked when he didn’t sense any Spirit Qi on Lin Xuan Qi.

Seeing how Lin Xuan Qi was dressed like a young master instead of a rogue cultivator or cultivator from some sect, he immediately thought that Lin Xuan Qi was one of those young masters he had dealt with before.

Skinny claws and rogue scholar moved to the sides of Lin Xuan Qi at the same time.

They were getting ready to lunge at him at any moment.

Lin Xuan Qi shrugged, lifted his hands and pointed his index and middle fingers at skinny claws on his right, and rogue scholar on his left.

Skinny claws and rogue scholar raised an eyebrow at what they were witnessing.

"Despicable!" Brother Dong shouted and gave out a roar.

His body glowed and the form of a bear could be seen engulfing his body.

Lin Xuan Qi got ready for Brother Dong’s strike but he was perturbed when he saw Brother Dong turn around and run instead.

These rogue cultivators could turn against each other at any moment, huh. He thought when he saw it but he wasn’t going to let Brother Dong escape.

Lin Xuan Qi gave chase and Brother Dong shouted, "Just let me go, those who have lots of Spirit Stones and Artifacts on them!

"It should be enough for you!"

Brother Dong regretted his decision to provoke Lin Xuan Qi.

Those who could hide the presence of their Spirit Qi weren’t anyone that he could deal with.

And the Fire Spell from Lin Xuan Qi proved that it was so.

But Lin Xuan Qi wasn’t in the mood to let him go.

He turned his body to the right and swung his arms with the hammers in his hands at the back of Brother Dong.

Brother Dong felt the gust of wind coming at him from the back.

He mustered all the Spirit Qi he had and the glowing bear that engulfed his body appeared.

The glowing bear blocked the hammers initially but it gave way and broke into pieces before it dissipated.

And the next thing that could be heard was the loud cracking of Brother Dong’s spine when Lin Xuan Qi’s hammers hit onto it.

The body of Brother Dong bent backwards until his head was at the back of his thigh.
