The street had houses lined up that weren’t huge or extravagant like the ones in the area where the Chu Clan was.

These houses were for maybe a family of three to four that lived in the city.

A perfect place for Lao Er and Ling Er to lie low while they got things started.

Lin Xuan Qi got out of the horse carriage and saw that there were a couple of houses that were empty.

Dirt and trash had settled outside the houses without anyone clearing it.

He stood there and an old man came up to him.

"Young master? Are you looking for someone?" The old man frowned, glanced at him and his guards warily.

Lin Xuan Qi gave the old man a smile and glanced at his guards, gesturing for them to take a few steps back and that was what they did.

He cupped his hands at the old man and asked, "I see that these houses are empty.

"May I ask if you know their owner?"

The old man’s frown went away when he heard him.

"Their owners are either gone working in the mines or they had moved into some place much more comfortable..."

Lin Xuan Qi proceeded to make his intention known, "I’m actually looking to buy one of these and if you can help letting me know where the owners are, it’ll be a great help to me."

He got out of the house to get the documents to be signed and processed by the magistrate afterwards.

The guards were curious about why their master wanted to buy a house that wasn’t at his status but they kept quiet.

And so, they waited for a while in the house quietly before the old man came back with the documents.

Lin Xuan Qi paid the tael of gold and signed the documents immediately.

When he was done, information panels with words appeared in his mind in the next moment.

She startled for a moment when she heard him, and after she gave out a sigh, she lowered her head and said, "Maybe ask him why he hasn’t visited me after so long?"
