Chapter 546: The Disciples

"What is your purpose of coming into Hong Feng City?"

It was a Qing Feng Sect disciple coming up to the horse carriage to check on Lin Xuan Qi.

Lin Xuan Qi saw the soldiers standing behind the Qing Feng Sect disciple as the disciple did the questioning.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and they walked into the mansion with him holding the hands of Xue Cong and Yue Jie.

He glanced at the flowers blooming along the path leading to the main hall and it reminded him of his promise for the spring outing.

They might not be able to do so next spring when his sons are born, so he had better make use of the opportunity at this moment.

When they got into the main hall, warm tea was waiting for him and he sat down at his favorite seat as usual.

The view looking out towards the gate never got old for him.

He took a sip of the tea and put down the teacup.

"I bought some gifts for you." Lin Xuan Qi said and took out the jewelry he had bought for them from Gui Feng.

"You shouldn’t have. We already have enough and we don’t have many occasions to wear them..." Xue Cong mumbled but she was full of smiles when she saw the delicate design of the hairpin with many precious stones on it.

She was so happy about it.

Liu Shi Shi kept quiet as usual but she was also marveling at the bracelet that she got, holding it up at her wrist to see how it looked.

When he saw their faces full of joy, it made the trip worthwhile for him.

They chatted about what had happened in the mansion while he was away.

He sighed at the fact that he couldn’t boast of what he did in the secret realm to them, not wanting to make them worried.

And while they chatted, he checked on the bellies of Xue Cong and Yue Jie to see if there was any difference.

The beef was tender with the braised sauce accentuating its taste.

And the savoriness from the Lin Clan Taste Transcendence Essence helped a lot with it.

Xue Cong and Yue Jie, who were sitting beside him, shook their heads and picked up more food for him.

Even Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi also helped with picking up some of the food.

"That’s enough." Lin Xuan Qi said when his bowl was covered in a mountain of food.

He frowned and glanced at them.

"Why are you feeding me so much? You know, I will work hard for tonight even if you didn’t do so." He said and gave them a smirk.

Xue Cong and the others rolled their eyes at him.

"I think it’s better you have a good rest for tonight." Xue Cong shook her head at him and said.

But he pulled her closer to him and said with his face next to hers, "Are you sure?"

She frowned for a moment but quickly lowered her head when her ears turned hot and her face flushed.

When he turned to the other side and pulled Yue Jie closer to him, Yue Jie was just as flustered by his touch.

Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi, who were sitting further away, also had their faces blushed red.

They too lowered their heads.
