Chapter 559: Battlefield

Lin Xuan Qi didn’t know what it was about but he couldn’t gather any more information as the Qing Feng Sect disciple left afterwards.

He could check what it was about with the man in bandages but he might bring attention to the Qing Feng Sect if anything happened to the man.

After a few moments of consideration, he decided to get back to the mansion first and come back the next day to see what the man and the Qing Feng Sect were up to.

And if he couldn’t figure it out the next day, he would then resort to using his Spiritual Control Spell from the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques.

He went back and rested for the night having so many thoughts going through his mind.

Lin Xuan Qi woke up early and the first thing he did after he had his breakfast was to go to the house of the bandaged man, Jiao Shi.

He went alone without anyone else with him except for Lee He Song.

"Where are we going?" Lee He Song asked while they walked towards the unfamiliar street.

There weren’t any retail stores or franchise stores of Lin Xuan Qi in the vicinity so he was curious about what was going on.

Lin Xuan Qi sighed and briefed him on what he had gathered last night.

And that got Lee He Song thinking too.

But he also came up blank like Lin Xuan Qi and he wasn’t sure what it was about.

"I guess the only way to find out is to do it the hard way when required." Lee He Song patted the scabbard of his sword and said.

Lin Xuan Qi shook his head at him, "Best not to let the Qing Feng Sect be aware that we are onto them."

"It’s an option." Lee He Song chuckled and shrugged his shoulders.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and he knocked on the doors of the house that was next to the Jiao Shi’s.

"Who’s there out in the morning..." A voice mumbled before the doors were opened.

An old lady frowned and took a step back when she saw two unfamiliar men standing at the doors.

"I don’t know you, go away." She said and tried to close the doors but Lin Xuan Qi used his hand to hold onto the edge of the doors.

His strength was many times that of a normal adult now and the doors couldn’t even move an inch.

The old lady wanted to scream but stopped when she saw a string of copper coins dangling in front of her.

"Old lady, I am looking to buy the houses in this area so I would like to find out if you are interested to do so." Lin Xuan Qi asked and the eyes of the old lady beamed with excitement.

After she glanced at Lin Xuan Qi from head to toe and saw that he was wearing silk clothes with intricate embroidery on them, she was convinced that he was a young master.

She grabbed the string of copper coins, kept it and she opened the doors for him and Lee He Song.

"Come in and have some tea." She said with a smile while pouring two cups of tea.

Lin Xuan Qi pretended to glance around at the interior of the house while she did so.

"This place is cozy, being warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It would be a great purchase if you are interested." The old lady began to sell the benefits of her house to him.

He listened and nodded to what she had said.

"And so... have you decided?" The old lady got anxious and asked when she saw him not being too keen on it.

Lin Xuan Qi sighed and said, "I am looking to buy the whole stretch of houses and if I can’t get all of them, I might not go ahead with the purchase."

"The whole stretch?" The old lady got excited upon hearing it, increasing her asking price in her mind immediately.

Her reaction was captured by Lin Xuan Qi and he knew that it was time to ask the important questions.

He gave out a long sigh and said, "But I’m afraid that I’m having difficulties getting to the owner for the house beside you."

The old lady frowned when she heard him.

"Tay just came back from the battlefields in the north after being seriously injured.

"He might not be in the mood to talk to you about selling his house since his parents also passed away recently.

"After all, that house was where he had stayed with his parents since he was young."

"He came back from the battlefield?" Lin Xuan Qi didn’t expect to hear this and the old lady nodded her head at him.

"Thanks. I see why he wasn’t too keen now. In that case,

"I will go back and think about how to persuade him on purchasing the houses first." He cupped his hands at the old lady and bid her farewell.

"Wait, when will you come back?" The old lady asked but he waved his hands at her and said, "Maybe tomorrow or maybe next week, or maybe not."

She sighed and shook her head while watching his figure go out from her house.

"So, what’s next?" Lee He Song asked while looking at the house of Jiao Shi.

There weren’t any movements from Jiao Shi so far and Lin Xuan Qi decided to think about it first.

They went to a tea stall not too far away to sit down and have tea while he tried to figure out what it was about the Formation Array, Jiao Shi and the Qing Feng Sect.

They seemed so far apart that he couldn’t figure out what the relationship between them was.

"Here, two copper coins." The stall owner put down a pot of tea and stretched out his hands at Lin Xuan Qi.

Lee He Song took out two copper coins and put them onto the palm of the stall owner.

"How is business nowadays?" Lin Xuan Qi glanced at the stall owner and asked.
