Chapter 567: The Plan

"There was someone who came and got Jiao Shi away." One of the disciples said while trembling.

"What do you mean by that? Who were they? The Sima Family?" Zhao Geng Nian narrowed his eyes at the disciple and asked.

"We are not sure... One of them wore a mask and one of them was invisible.

"They came out of nowhere with skills that we’ve never seen before...

"It’s not something that we’ve seen before, definitely not from the Sima Family."

Most of the Sima Family, like Sima Ye, practiced the Qing Feng Sect Sword Style which would be obvious to them.

Zhao Geng Nian frowned and paced around with his hands behind his back.

He didn’t expect to face so much of a hiccup with what he had planned.

Someone knew what they were up to and even had the Formation Array planned for Sima Liang destroyed.

He began to think that there was a spy among the disciples.

"Xiao Feng." Zhao Geng Nian glanced over at his direct disciple and Xiao Feng came over to him.

"Yes, Master Zhao." Xiao Feng smirked and cupped his hands at him.

Xiao Feng was glad that he finally had something to do.

"Root out any spies from the Sima Family that you find." Zhao Geng Nian said coldly.

"But what about Jiao Shi?" Xiao Feng asked.

"It’s fine. They wouldn’t dare to do anything rash, unless they want the whole of Hong Feng City razed to the ground.

"The reputation of the Sima Family has already been tarnished. We can grind them down to nothing eventually."

Zhao Geng Nian explained and Xiao Feng nodded his head at him.

Xiao Feng turned his head and glanced at the Qing Feng Sect disciples kneeling in front of him.

Before he could do anything to them, one of the guards at the gate came into the main hall.

"Master Zhao Geng Nian, there’s a message for you." The guard raised his hand with an envelope in it.

A disciple came over and took the envelope from the guard, walked over to Zhao Geng Nian, and handed the envelope over to him.

Zhao Geng Nian opened it, took out the letter inside, and read it.

He crumpled the letter and let out a snort.

"What is it about, Master Zhao?" Xiao Feng asked with curiosity.

Zhao Geng Nian stroked his beard and said, "It’s from the Sima Family, telling me that they are investigating the matter about the rumors going around about how their Artifact Armor were defective.

"It’s just a hollow threat to let me know that they have Jiao Shi with them."

Lin Xuan Qi and Lee He Song spent the day checking on the factories.

They headed over to the inn for lunch to check if Old Feng had any information for him.

Old Feng cupped his hands and greeted him when he saw Lin Xuan Qi enter the inn.

"Prepare lunch for us." Lin Xuan Qi said and entered the dining area of the inn with Lee He Song and the others.

Old Feng shouted into the back of the inn, "Get lunch ready for Master Lin."

The workers at the back of the kitchen shouted back at him, "We are on it."

Old Feng followed behind Lin Xuan Qi and poured a cup of tea for him and Lee He Song after they sat down at one of the tables.

The dining area was crowded since it was lunchtime.

"Any news for me?" Lin Xuan Qi asked after he had a sip of the tea.

Old Feng nodded his head and said, "Apparently, things aren’t going too well for the Sima Family."

"That I already know." Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head at him and said.

Old Feng gave him a smile and scratched his head, feeling bad that he wasn’t able to gather much for Lin Xuan Qi about what was happening.

He thought for a moment and added, "From what I’ve heard, there are many sects and clan members on their way here to Hong Feng City soon."

"Thanks." Lin Xuan Qi thanked him and pondered on what he had just heard.

All of these sects and clans were supposed to come over when Jiao Shi and his lies had made it a huge issue?

But they weren’t informed of what had happened yet?

He thought that maybe he could turn this to his advantage.

Lin Xuan Qi gestured for the others to proceed with their lunch when the dishes were brought out.

There must be something he could do. He thought while he picked up his chopsticks.

"Have you heard about what happened? The man accusing the Sima Family disappeared."

"What do you mean disappeared?"

"Gone. No one knows where he is now."

"The Sima Family got him to keep their reputation?"

"Or maybe he ran away feeling guilty."

The chatter around him was about the disappearance of Jiao Shi.

And most of them had different views on it.

Lin Xuan Qi thought about the part about the reputation of the Sima Family and an idea came to him.

Maybe there was a way after all.

He kept quiet about it and finished his lunch.

After which he headed back to his mansion.

Now was not the time to be seen visiting the Sima Family mansion.

Best for him to pass on the idea he had when it was time to receive payment from Sima Long for the franchise business.

Thankfully, it wouldn’t be too far away.

Lin Xuan Qi went about his days running his businesses and cultivating as much as he could until it was the end of the month.

"Brother Xuan Qi, here’s the payment for the month." Sima Long said and pointed at the chests of gold ingots that were on the ground in front of him.

Lin Xuan Qi saw that Sima Long was now looking radiant with a smile.

And he figured that it must have been due to Sima Long’s daughter.

That made it much heavier and weightier for what he was about to say to Sima Long.
