Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls

Chapter 603: Getting Heated Up

Chapter 603: Getting Heated Up

Some of them stared at the shops they wanted on the map, while some of them glanced at their potential competitors.

All of them wanted to be able to get the shop in their preferred location.

Lin Xuan Qi saw how enthusiastic they were and he didn’t want to waste this moment.

"Young master Chew, have a seat with your friends first." He gestured to them and said.

Young master Chew and his friends took out whatever seats were left in the main hall.

The servant girls quickly brought out more chairs from the mansion to let those who couldn’t get a seat have one.

Lin Xuan Qi went to his room to get some of the things ready.

He took some brushes, ink, and paper to the main hall.

After which, he distributed them to Old Heng, young master Chew, and their friends.

"I shall announce the bid for which of the shops first, then you will write the rent you want to offer on the piece of paper and chop it with your seal.

"Once all the offers are in, I shall announce the winner for the bid.

"Any questions for this?"

Old Heng and all the others, being so experienced with business, knew what he was up to, but they didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity.

They were lucky to be among the first to be able to put in a bid for the rental.

After they had gotten the best locations, the other businessmen that came after them wouldn’t have such a luxury to do so anymore.

And so, all of them were eager to make the bid and win.

Lin Xuan Qi pointed at the shop that was nearest to the main entrance of the shopping mall and said, "Let us start with this first.

"Anyone dealing with jewelry, gold, and other high-end items can consider it."

For the area that the shopping mall was at, it would be best to let the visitors have a feeling of it being something grand with a jewelry shop welcoming them.

A few of the businessmen glanced at each other.

They were in the same line of business and they knew each other.

What they sold and how much each of them were likely to offer wasn’t too difficult for them to estimate among each other.

Finally, one of them started writing on the piece of paper he had and chopped his seal onto it.

The others saw it and they quickly did the same.

Everyone was tense for the bid.

Some of them started to wipe the sweat off their brows, and their clothes started to get sticky onto their skin because of it.

Lin Xuan Qi, on the other hand, was feeling relaxed, enjoying his tea and letting the businessmen do their bidding.

Soon, they were done and they came up to him with their pieces of paper folded.

"Anyone else wanting to bid for this?" He asked after no more of the businessmen came up to him.

All of the businessmen shook their heads at him.

Lin Xuan Qi picked up one of the papers and opened it.

Then, he announced the amount that was written on the paper.

"A hundred taels of silver." Lin Xuan Qi said and some of the businessmen’s faces turned into a huge frown.

They must have bid lower than that price.

And the next few pieces of paper were indeed so.

"Ninety taels of silver."

"Ninety five taels of silver."

"Ninety eight taels of silver."

The bids weren’t too far apart since they knew each other’s background so well.

Lin Xuan Qi picked up the next piece of paper and when he saw the numbers written on it, he was pleasantly surprised by it.

One of them had taken a gamble and he certainly didn’t mind.

It would be more revenue for him and it would help heighten it for the later shops that would be up for bidding.

The businessmen who were waiting eagerly for his announcement looked on with anxiousness.

Especially the businessman with the winning bid so far of a hundred taels of silver.

"Three hundred taels of silver." Lin Xuan Qi put down the piece of paper and announced the bid to the others.

"What? Three hundred taels of silver?"

"Who is so crazy to do that?"

"Damn. I should have put in a higher bid than that..."

Most of those who had bid for the shop were exasperated at the three hundred taels of silver.

All of them glanced at each other trying to figure out who was the winner.

"Let’s finish with the other bids first." Lin Xuan Qi said and he continued with the other pieces of paper.

But none of the bids that followed were as much as three hundred taels of silver.

"Yes, I won." One of the businessmen exclaimed with excitement but he quickly turned it into smiles and cupped his hands at his competitors.

The businessman went on and said to them as customary courtesy, "Thanks to all of you for letting me have the opportunity..."

All of the other businessmen who lost the bid gave out a sigh.

"Master Chu, are you sure you can profit from it?"

Some of them had doubts about the bid.

The winner, Master Chu, glanced at Lin Xuan Qi and said, "I have faith in Master Lin and his new idea, that’s why I’m willing to put in a higher bid for it."

"Thanks so much for the confidence in me. I assure you that it will be like the franchise business, everyone who joins gets to make a healthy profit out of it.

"And if the shopping mall works, I plan to have it in other cities like Bian Jing and Gui Feng too.

"Don’t worry, all of you shall be able to bid for the shops before the others like what you are doing now."

Lin Xuan Qi said and subtly reminded them of his track record in the franchise business with them, and gave them something to look forward to, enticing them with the promise of expanding to other cities.

That got the other businessmen ready to make a more ambitious bid after what they had witnessed.

If they bid lower, then they would have missed the opportunity.
