Chapter 517: Improper
After a few hours, Lin Feng came out of his chamber and looked towards the fading sun. He decided to pay a visit to the spirit field even though there was still some time before Cui Shuyin arrived.
He smiled slightly, now that he was mostly free and only cultivated diligently, this small time spent with Cui Shuyin felt quite enjoyable to him. He even sometimes awaited the night eagerly.
He shook his head, wondering if her resistance would get a little weaker or not today.
...
At a secluded corner of the main peak of the Sword Pavilion stood an ancient sword, half-buried in the earth. It had remained there for countless years, yet the sword intent emanating from it was still so sharp that even an Embodiment Realm cultivator could be injured merely by wandering too close.
Cui Shuyin was sitting in front of it with her eyes closed as she meditated in silence. Her consciousness was immersed in the profound sword intent surrounding her, as she tried to seek a fleeting trace of enlightenment that could allow her to glimpse the path beyond the Dominion Realm.
Unfortunately, such enlightenment was not something that could be forced.
She had already spent a decade comprehending the mysterious of last few steps if Dominion realm, yet the path to the Dao Lord Realm remained shrouded in uncertainty. There was even a possibility that she would never obtain the enlightenment she sought and would remain trapped at the Dominion Realm for the rest of her life.
The lifespan of a Dominion Realm cultivator was already astonishingly long, enough for her to live a fulfilling life even without advancing any further, but after getting a taste of freedom and strength on the path of cultivation, how could she willingly accept becoming stagnant?
If necessary, she would rather risk her life, push her cultivation to its limits, and walk upon a dangerous path in pursuit of that elusive glimpse of enlightenment, even if the chance of success was low.
She opened her eyes and looked at the setting sun before sighing, today she again didn’t feel anything. However, she didn’t feel discouraged, as it was normal for even talented cultivators to not feel anything in the first decade. If she didn’t even feel the existence of those insights after a century or two, then she might have to get worried about it.
For the time being, she could only cultivate diligently whenever she got the chance to do so.
As she was thinking that, an image of Lin Feng flashed through her thoughts, she wondered if he was really speaking the truth or not... because he was really quite confident in his claim.
The reason she didn’t want to believe it was because his lustful nature was quite persistent, and he was really trying to bed her, who knew if he spoke those words just to do that.
But what if he really was speaking the truth, would she really dual cultivate with him to gain those insights... oh well, the way she was being complacent around him, maybe she might really have accepted it on the terms of just cultivating together.
"He really is a lustful beast... sigh," She turned her eyes upward, gazing at the heavens, "How good it would have been if I had some physique too, maybe I would have already reached the Dao Lord Realm.."
She closed her eyes before removing such thoughts as they may become hindrance in lond term. After calming herself, she left the sword intent zone.
...
In the spirit field, Lin Feng was planting a few spirit herbs which he had on him. These were just common ones and would take up a portion of the spirit field.
The shape of the spirit field was already complete, so even if the array was only half complete, it wasn’t an issue to plant the spirit herbs.
"You seem to have arrived here quite early.."
Lin Feng turned his head towards the voice and saw Cui Shuyin standing beside him.
"I wasn’t able to cultivate properly today, so instead of wasting time, I decided to just plant these spirit herbs."
Cui Shuyin was about to ask what happened for him to get distracted, but remembering how he always gave perverse replies whenever they were alone, she stopped for a moment. She sighed inwardly, yet still asked. It was hard for her to ignore such matters.
"You alright?"
Lin Feng’s expression changed slightly, he felt that her tone was a little bit different. He wondered what she was thinking, "I am fine, senior, but you seem to be a bit different?"
Cui Shuyin raised her eyebrows slightly, he really was far more perceptive than she had imagined him to be, "Everything is fine, I was just a bit more tired than usual."
Thinking about future possibilities had made her a little exhausted spiritually. Usually, no one would be able to tell if she was affected anyway, but he really was something. She shook her head slightly, "Let’s draw the array.."
Lin Feng nodded, "Alright.."
Their speed of drawing the array runes had improved a lot due to Cui Shuyin getting more proficient in it. A few hours later, Cui Shuyin again sat down and began recovering her spirit qi with closed eyes.
Lin Feng, as usual, sat beside her and caught her leg before putting it in his lap.
There was no reaction from Cui Shuyin, it was a normal routine for them. In fact, nowadays she lowkey awaited for his touch, it really was quite soothing.
Lin Feng, as usual, pushed her trouser up till her knee and traced his fingers over her pristine skin. He smiled slightly as a thought appeared in his mind, "If you are more tired than usual, then how about we stop now and I tend to you properly.."
Cui Shuyin, who was enjoying his soft caress, opened her eyes and looked at him calmly, "And what does this tend properly mean in your terms?"
Lin Feng’s smile widened, "Senior, you are far stronger than me, it’s not like I can do anything improper to you, so why not let me show you through my hands.."
