The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 233: Waiting for Her in the Hallway

Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Waiting for Her in the Hallway

[LOL, that dog is so playful.]

[If I were afraid of dogs and ran into this, I’d probably be scared to death.]

[You have to stream it! I wanna watch!]

Renee Jennings lifted her mug to take a sip of water, a thoughtful look in her delicate eyes.

’Is the dog’s behavior really just playing with Little Red?’

Seeing the comments, Little Red broke into a brilliant smile. "Okay, I’ll stream it for you all in a bit. I’ll be at the dog’s spot in about five more minutes."

In the distance, she saw the big yellow dog sitting by the entrance of the convenience store.

Little Red flipped her camera to show the dog. "Look, everyone, Goldie is right there."

As she spoke, she waved at Goldie.

Goldie noticed her movement and immediately stood up. He stared in her direction for a long moment with his big, round eyes, then shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.

"He’s coming!" Little Red’s voice was tinged with excitement.

Goldie rushed up to her, leaped nimbly into the air to snatch her canvas bag, and then ran ahead, glancing back at her as he went.

Little Red chased after him, laughing. "Sometimes I wonder if Goldie thinks carrying my bag is too much for me, so he wants to help me carry it."

[LOL, what a thoughtful dog~]

[I bet Goldie knows Little Red is pretty.]

[Yeah, Little Red has such elegant features.]

Renee Jennings had been quiet the whole time. Only now did she speak up softly, "Little Red, I’d like to talk with Goldie."

"Okay," Little Red said, panting slightly. "I was just thinking of asking you to help me ask Goldie something."

Renee Jennings asked, "Are you almost home?"

Little Red: "Almost there."

Renee Jennings: "Then take Goldie into your home to talk. It’s too late now; it’s not safe outside."

Little Red: "Okay!"

Goldie was waiting for her at the entrance of her apartment building.

The area where Little Red lived was a private residential building in an urban village. The security door downstairs had been broken for months, and the landlord hadn’t come to fix it.

She pulled the door open and turned to Goldie. "Goldie, how about you come upstairs with me?"

Goldie seemed to consider it. He glanced back once, let out a "WOOF," and went inside.

The building had no elevator, so Little Red took the stairs up to the third floor.

She opened her door and welcomed Goldie inside.

Goldie had very good manners. After entering, he stayed by the door and wiped his four paws back and forth on the doormat.

The viewers in the stream happened to see this, and they all started praising him.

[Haha, Goldie is so hygienic!]

[Wow, he’s such a well-mannered dog. So cute!]

[In that case, I really think Goldie snatches Little Red’s bag to help her carry it, hahaha.]

[What a thoughtful doggy.]

Little Red was also a little surprised by Goldie’s behavior.

After wiping his paws, Goldie finally stepped into the living room and placed the canvas bag he was carrying onto the coffee table.

"Goldie," Little Red said, unplugging her earbuds. "I know a streamer who can communicate with pets. You two can have a chat."

She placed the earbuds on top of the canvas bag and held the phone screen in front of Goldie. "Goldie, take a look."

Goldie’s gaze shifted from Little Red’s face to her phone. He blinked his black eyes and let out a confused "WOOF."

He was saying, ’What are we doing? I don’t get it.’

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow and slowly began to speak. "Goldie, why do you help Little Red with her bag every day?"

Goldie grinned. "So you’re called Little Red."

When Little Red saw Goldie grin, she smiled too. "The streamer is talking to you. Did you hear her?"

Goldie barked twice. "I heard her, but what’s the point? This streamer can’t understand what I’m saying anyway."

Renee Jennings explained it to him.

Goldie seemed very surprised. He pushed his entire head right up to the screen. "Whoa, that’s amazing!"

"Why do you help Little Red with her bag every day?" Renee Jennings asked.

Goldie furrowed his brow and explained earnestly, "I overheard some bad guys’ plan the other day. I was worried something would happen to her, so I started waiting for her after work to snatch her bag. That way, she would get home faster."

The real reason was pretty much exactly what Renee Jennings had suspected.

Goldie was protecting Little Red.

Renee Jennings’s slender eyebrows knitted together, her expression turning serious. "Goldie, can you tell me the bad guys’ plan?"

[What? Bad guys?]

[Oh my god, did Goldie discover some bad guys?]

[Help, I’m walking home at night right now and this is making me a little scared.]

Little Red was stunned as well, a flicker of astonishment in her eyes.

Goldie barked continuously for a while.

A grave expression appeared on Renee Jennings’s fair face, and her voice deepened. "Little Red, bolt the door."

A chill ran down Little Red’s spine. She hurried forward and slid the bolt shut.

Her voice trembled slightly. "Streamer, is someone stalking me?"

"That’s right," Renee Jennings nodded.

Little Red’s eyes darted around the room. She quickly closed the curtains on the windows and the balcony. "Streamer, what did Goldie just say?"

Renee Jennings frowned. "Two men noticed you’ve been getting off work late and are always alone. They figured you live by yourself, so they planned to follow you for a while and find a chance to make their move—to rob you and assault you."

Little Red was so frightened that her phone fell to the floor with a THUD.

Seeing this, Goldie picked up the phone with his mouth and brought it back to her.

Little Red took the phone with a trembling hand. Looking at Renee Jennings on the screen, her voice was frantic and helpless. "Streamer, what do I do now? Am I in a lot of danger...?"

Renee Jennings spoke in a gentle voice, "You thought Goldie was just playing with you all this time, snatching your bag. But the truth is, he overheard those two men’s plan and was worried something would happen to you. He took your bag to make you get home faster."

"Goldie..." Little Red crouched in front of Goldie, her red-rimmed eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you. Thank you so, so much..."

[Goldie, the champion of justice!]

[Goldie is the best!]

Goldie even got a little embarrassed. "I just hate bad guys!"

He glanced around, grabbed a pack of tissues from the coffee table, and placed it in Little Red’s lap. "Don’t cry. My dad says girls get less pretty if they cry too much."

Little Red didn’t know what Goldie was saying, but she was incredibly warmed by his gesture.

She pulled out a tissue to wipe her tears and said with a sob, "Goldie, from now on, you’re my hero dog who saved my life!"

Goldie tilted his head. "Huh?"

At that very moment, downstairs, two men were staring up at Little Red’s apartment window and spitting on the ground.

"That chick has a dog?"

"Isn’t that the dog from the convenience store up front? Why’d it go home with her?"

"Why do I get the feeling this dog is messing up our plans?"

"Well, now we can be sure she lives alone."

"So when do we make our move?"

"Tomorrow. We’ll wait for her right in the hallway!"

"..."

Renee Jennings also received a call from Henry Stark. She muted her microphone on the stream.

"Henry, it’s so late. Is there a new case?"

"I’m watching your stream," Henry Stark’s deep voice was tinged with a cold seriousness. "If this is real, then we have to take action. Otherwise, Little Red will be in danger."
